The star steps into Quentin Tarantino's next film following the death of Reynolds earlier this month.

00:00Bruce Dern is set to replace Burt Reynolds in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,
00:04following the iconic actor's death earlier this month.
00:07The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Dern will now play George Spahn,
00:10the real-life rancher who owned the ranch where Charles Manson and his followers lived in the late 1960s.
00:16Quentin Tarantino is writing and directing the film.
00:19The story takes place in 1969 and centers on a former TV star named Rick Dalton,
00:24played by Leonardo DiCaprio, and his stunt double Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt.
00:29Reynolds had attended a table read in June with stars Pitt, DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and Kurt Russell.
00:36He died September 6th before he began filming the project.
00:39Dern is a two-time Oscar nominee. He received a nom for Best Supporting Actor in 1978's Coming Home,
00:45as well as a Best Actor Nom for 2013's Nebraska.
