00:00Boy, I want to, hold on, like I want to spend a minute with that.
00:03Let's stay here.
00:04By the way, Robert Sala has also received the official request from the Arizona Cardinals.
00:11Okay.
00:11They would like to interview Robert Sala.
00:14And he said, I'm a little busy, guys, I'm a little tied up here.
00:19Well, did y'all see the Robert Sala news yesterday, though?
00:23Robert hired a new agent yesterday.
00:27He joined the Wasserman group.
00:29Now, I don't know anything about, like, whatever that means.
00:31I just know that he hired a new agent.
00:34And you don't hire a new agent unless you're looking for something different to happen out in the whole agent world.
00:43You don't hire a new agent to just, like, well, let's just stay exactly where we are and do nothing different.
00:49Well, unless he's trying to rework his deal.
00:51And even at that, you wouldn't hire a new agent to rework a deal with the Niners who, if he wants to stay,
00:57they're going to pay him whatever he needs to be paid to stay.
01:01But, yeah, you're right, Mark.
01:02You hire an agent so he can go out there and, like, shop you a little bit.
01:06And if you're Robert Sala and Arizona's the first one to say, yeah, we want to talk to you, all right, go ahead and hold on.
01:14Let me put you on hold.
01:15Hi, line two, Baltimore?
01:17Yeah.
01:17I'd probably take any interview.
01:21I probably would.
01:23I mean, unless I was like, boy, the Bidwells are among the most absurd owners in all of sports.
01:31So, no thank you.
01:33Sometimes there is power in that.
01:36Like, I do think.
01:37Not looking so thirsty.
01:38Well, you know, Ben Johnson did this.
01:40Ben Johnson, when he was still the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions, teams, I can't remember exactly who reached out to him.
01:48Was it the commanders?
01:49I can't remember exactly who it was.
01:51But a team wanted him, and he was like, I don't want to be your coach.
01:57So, I'm just going to be the Lions offensive coordinator again.
02:00And it does make, there's some juice there where you're like, dude, I know my time is coming.
02:08I don't need to jump.
02:09I don't need to jump at you.
02:12And Robert Sala, I do think, is one of those guys.
02:16You know, last time he had to jump, and he ended up with a ridiculous franchise.
02:20And it went ridiculously.
02:23And the Cardinals are the same thing.
02:25So, I don't know.
02:26Maybe he would just look at him and say, no thanks.
02:28In general terms, though, I'm like, take any interview, right?
02:33What's the harm in talking to everybody and building as many relationships as you can?
02:37I mean, the only harm would be it takes you away from what you're trying to do right now,
02:41which is win a game in Philadelphia.
02:43And I don't know if the interview would be this week or, I mean, if it's today, and you're off,
02:48like the players are off, the coaches aren't off.
02:50And I'm sure it's not that big of a deal if you wanted to fly to Arizona tonight and have an interview in the morning
02:55and then fly back and get ready for, you know, a game on Sunday at Philly.
03:00So, it's not a huge deal, especially when it's Arizona.
03:03You know, and if they really want you, they can fly out here and meet with you here.
03:07I mean, you just do a Zoom.
03:09Like, whatever.
03:10You know what I mean?
03:10Yeah.
03:11If it was the San Francisco Giants, just do a Zoom.
03:14It's not bad.
03:15Just take a look at somebody on a computer screen and make a decision.
03:18John Harbaugh was the second-longest tenured coach in the National Football League
03:23behind only Mike Tomlin, 2008, 180-113.
03:29That is a long time in the NFL to hold a job.
03:32In a winning percentage of 6'14".
03:34And a bowl, 12 playoff berths.
03:37Where does it leave Shanahan in terms of tenure?
03:39He's behind Tomlin, Reed, end of list.
03:44End of list.
03:44He's tied with McVay and McDermott.
03:47Okay.
03:48Those three are all 2017.
03:50Okay.
03:50And I don't know whose hire date was first, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
03:52And none of those rest are in any sort of danger.
03:57Right.
03:57I mean, Tomlin, I guess, you know, there have been rumors he could go do TV or something,
04:02but now they're hosting a playoff game on Monday night.
04:04Yep.
04:05So, like, probably not.
04:07Yeah, I agree.
04:08Yeah, those guys are all going to be back.
04:08I mean, that's not what Pittsburgh does.
04:10They don't fire coaches ever.
04:12They've had three coaches in, like, literally 50 years, I think.
04:16Is McDermott not in any trouble if they lose in Jacksonville?
04:18I don't think he is.
04:19Much like Josh Allen would be kind of under fire if they lose in Jacksonville.
04:22I mean, like, okay, so you're asking that in maybe two different forms.
04:26I have not heard anything that would suggest he would be.
04:29Should he be?
04:30Is maybe a different question.
04:33Because I do feel like that organization on some level has kind of failed Josh Allen.
04:39And the narrative will be the opposite if they go lose this game in Jacksonville this week.
04:43It'll be like, there's no Patrick and no Lamar, and you still couldn't make it through the playoffs.
04:48But to the point that I'm over here getting ready to make, as much as so many of you would love quarterbacks to just go out on a field and control the whole game, they can't do that.
05:08It's not possible.
05:09Even the best in the game.
05:11Mahomes will watch playoff games.
05:13Burrow will watch the playoffs.
05:14Lamar will watch the playoffs.
05:16Josh Allen is an underdog.
05:18Or is he?
05:18No, he's a one-point favorite.
05:19Whatever.
05:20Josh Allen is the sixth seed.
05:23And why?
05:24There are circumstances in every one of those cities that will tell you that having a great quarterback on its own is not enough.
05:35And the Bills don't have a great defense.
05:37They don't have a great receiving core.
05:39I love their running back.
05:41But, like, outside of Josh, what do you love about the Bills?
05:44What do you like?
05:45Boy, they are really good at now fill in the blank.
05:47Yeah, not a lot.
05:48They're good at having their quarterback make big plays and big moments.
05:52They're good at their quarterback.
05:53I had Khalil Shakir this year on Fantasy, and every third game he would have an explosive.
05:58And then the other games, they wouldn't throw him the ball at all.
06:01They have a good tight end.
06:02Dalton Kincaid, when he plays, he played 12 games.
06:05And beyond that, you're receiving core of, you know, Keon Coleman, Yon, and, you know, I mentioned Shakir, Josh Palmer, Tyrell Shavers.
06:14So, for me, it's not as much of a McDermott issue as it is a roster build issue.
06:20But you look at Buffalo, and they've won 10 or more games in seven straight years.
06:24Well, they are.
06:25I mean, he is great.
06:27He is great.
06:28And their division for a long time now has been a joke.
06:32Yep, not anymore.
06:33And now there's another good team there, and look what happened.
06:36They lost.
06:37They lost to them.
06:39So, like, the Bills, that's an interesting case study.
06:43And we do hear the Bills come up a lot.
06:46We do hear Josh Allen come up a lot because we're a market that sits here and has a debate about its own quarterback.
06:54And that's the name that you hear come up.
06:56I actually do think a lot of people think he's the best player in the NFL.
06:59Like, not the best team.
07:01But if you were doing a, like, let's just draft the league.
07:05Anybody, yeah.
07:06Is that the number one overall guy?
07:08Is it Josh?
07:09That's possible, yeah.
07:11Very well.
07:11I hear that answer, I think, the most.
07:14You might go defense and take Miles Garrett.
07:16Maybe.
07:17You could.
07:18Honestly, I mean, you're allowed to.
07:19He's still at the peak of his powers.
07:20He's incredible.
07:21You know, you've got to have a good tackle, a good quarterback, and a good edge.
07:24And the Niners have a good tackle when healthy.
07:27They have a good quarterback, and they don't have their edge because he's also hurt.
07:30Yeah, so that's, I think this is a great year to talk about the quarterbacks who are and
07:38who are not in the playoffs.
07:40And I think that this is tailor-made for you because you get so mad when people talk about
07:45how one quarterback beat the other quarterback, even though they're never on the field at
07:49the same time.
07:50And, you know, it's kind of like when Caleb Williams lost at Levi's Stadium a couple of
07:57weeks ago because 38 points wasn't enough.
08:00Nope, not enough.
