TPP Babies Vs Pnm babies in Tobago as both the Tobago People's Party (TPP) and the People's National Movement (PNM) are promising financial assistance to mothers and their newly born babies.
TPP leader Farley Augustine speaking during a political meeting in Buccoo/Mt Pleasant on Saturday night, said he is ready to pay from all now.
PNM candidate for Buccoo/Mt Pleasant and political leader of the PNM Tobago Council Ancil Dennis also made an announcement on financial assistance to new born babies, during a political meeting in Bethel on Saturday.
00:00We have had two babies born to date. And because I am so confident in this promise and that we will deliver on this covenant, I, Farley Chavez Augustine, as chief secretary, will personally start the process with those two babies in paying that $500 a month until the government regulates it.
00:24And while we don't support this $500 baby grant, we are saying to you, the people of Tobago, that in cases where mothers and other Tobagoians who are not even mothers are vulnerable and facing heavy weather and are under pressure, that we will ensure that through the Department of Social Services, you receive the necessary support at no less than $1,000 per month.
