00:00Most recent of the bunch would be Jonathan Gannon
00:02out in Arizona.
00:05It is, I think, one of the sneakiest,
00:10awful teams in recent memory.
00:12What do I mean by that?
00:13The Arizona Cardinals lost as many games
00:16as the Vegas Raiders picking first overall.
00:19Arizona started the season 2-0 and 3-5.
00:23And I know 3-5 is not necessarily, you know,
00:26something to write home about.
00:27So that third victory was a double-digit win
00:31in Dallas off a bye.
00:33We thought, hey, maybe there's something here.
00:37This group went out and lost their final nine games.
00:42And I guess despite that, I mean, it was all Jacoby Brissett.
00:49I know the defense was bad.
00:50I've never thought Jonathan Gannon was working with,
00:53you know, pocket aces in Arizona.
00:55They made the move to get rid of Jonathan Gannon.
01:00What do you make of that decision?
01:02I thought it was good.
01:03Now, I'll say this.
01:05Do you like any coach in the league?
01:08No, fair enough, fair enough, fair enough.
01:10Hang on.
01:11This is coming from a guy that backed Arizona
01:13to potentially win the West at plus 420.
01:17And they started out at 2-0.
01:18So I was all bought in to Jonathan Gannon in Arizona
01:22at the start of the year.
01:23I was wrong on my assessment.
01:24Because when they finished the year at 8-9,
01:27had an opportunity to win and sneak into the playoffs last year
01:31and lost the Carolina game,
01:33you thought they would be motivated.
01:35You thought that everything was set to potentially make that type of run.
01:39And they had the pieces.
01:40Marvin Harrison Jr. in year number two.
01:42Trey McBride, one of the top tight ends in the NFL,
01:46a 1,000-yard receiver.
01:47They had James Conner.
01:49And I understand the injuries.
01:51I get that.
01:52But there was defensive talent, too, in Walter Nolan.
01:55And I know he checked out with an injury just about three weeks ago.
01:59I get all of that.
02:00But there was no defensive progression.
02:03This team allowed chunks of yards to a number of different teams.
02:07Their offense in games outside of Jacoby and Prichette throwing it 50 times
02:13couldn't coach up the offensive line to run the football consistently.
02:17They were one of the worst rushing attacks in the NFL.
02:20And that wasn't due to James Conner just being out of that lineup.
02:24The offensive line was completely terrible.
02:26And the play calling was as well.
02:28So when you couple all of that and you say we have young talent
02:32that the head coach isn't getting through to,
02:34yeah, he deserves to be chopped.
02:36Especially when you lose nine games down the stretch.
02:39So, again, you have a franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray
02:43that they made the decision to move on from.
02:46You have that to worry about.
02:48What are you going to do?
02:49And this head coach looks clueless throughout the regular season.
02:54And let's not forget, you want to throw in the DiMarcardo situation.
02:58Maybe he wasn't a locker room guy.
03:00But, again, at the end of the day, where is the positives?
03:04The negatives outweigh all the pluses for this football team.
03:08You can't win three games with this talent, Kev.
03:11You just die.
03:12Joe, they were the most injured team in football for the final month.
03:16You say this talent.
03:18You say this talent.
03:20What are we referring to?
03:21Okay?
03:21Okay, well, again.
03:24Because Will Johnson and Walter Nolan are rookies.
03:27And, by the way, I know Walter Nolan ended up injured.
03:30Trey McBride obviously broke out, but that's what, you know,
03:33wasn't a first-round draft choice.
03:34Marvin Harrison Jr. has not worked out.
03:36They were able to get Michael Wilson to break out for this team.
03:39Who are the superstars that I'm supposed to be banking on here
03:43for Jonathan Gannon to win football games with?
03:44Well, we're making it sound, Kev, like we're starting Russell Wilson
03:48and we're starting Garvin Carroll.
03:49We're starting Jacoby Brissett, Joe.
03:51Okay, but Jacoby Brissett, again, Kev, at the end of the day,
03:56threw the football and they were able to move it.
03:58The defense gave up tons of yards.
04:01Tons.
04:01They were abused week in and week out.
04:04And we're going to attest that to a ton of injuries?
04:07It's just all injuries.
04:08Yeah, a ton of injuries and not a lot of talent.
04:10I'm sorry, I do not think that Arizona has entered into any of these
04:17Jonathan Gannon seasons where, I mean, Joe,
04:19we look at the rest of the NFC West, right?
04:22Yeah.
04:22And they put three teams in the postseason.
04:24The gap in what those teams have, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle,
04:30talent-wise is massive to me.
04:33Okay, so let's just look at the wide receivers.
04:36Outside of JSN, who does Seattle have as a pure number two?
04:41Who cares?
04:42They got the guy who led the league in receiving yards.
04:44JSN's one of the five best receivers in football.
04:46Okay, all right.
04:47And Trey McBride is a thousand-yard receiver at the tight end position.
04:49Okay, Joe, but what else does Seattle have?
04:51One of the most talented defenses in football.
04:53Marvin Harrison Jr. was a number one draft pick for them.
04:56Yeah, they got the pick wrong.
04:57I mean, it's hard to argue they didn't get the pick wrong.
05:00Did they not get the pick wrong?
05:01I don't know, did they?
05:02You thought they got the pick wrong in real time.
05:03You thought it should have been really neighbors.
05:04Well, I like neighbors, but that doesn't take away that Marvin Harrison
05:08wasn't valued or looked at as a pure number one.
05:12He was.
05:13I just like neighbors more.
05:15But you're telling me 600 yards from Marvin Harrison Jr.?
05:18Joe, but what about the defensive talent, though?
05:20What about the – he's a defensive guy.
05:22Yeah, I like Will Johnson.
05:24I like Walter Nolan.
05:25I like Will Baker.
05:26Those are rookies.
05:28These guys are supposed to turn this whole thing around?
05:30That and bringing Josh Sweat in from Philadelphia?
05:32Yeah.
