00:00I want to pick up with some news out of Seattle the defending Super Bowl champions have made sure
00:04to bring back arguably their best player that is Jackson Smith in Jigba a record-breaking contract
00:11for JSN where he last year led the NFL in receiving yards 119 grabs 10 touchdowns
00:20and one offensive player of the year Joe and he was certainly paid like he did all of those things
00:27and then some oh he was one of the most important players heading up to the Super Bowl didn't have
00:32the type of Super Bowl that a lot thought of when Kenneth Walker took over but when you look at
00:38the
00:38passing attack with Sam Darnold it was clear that JSN was the number one option he took games over
00:44we've said it time and time again he's the best pure route runner potentially in the NFL and to
00:51get two million more than Jamar Chase he has stepped up in big games even when he's double teamed
00:56uh through defenses and Sam Darnold found a way to get JSN the football now a majority of that could
01:03have been Clint Kubiak and scheming JSN open but if you're Seattle and you have thoughts Kevin about
01:10repeating as Super Bowl champs they've got to sign JSN he's a young guy and he's just coming into his
01:16own right now I mean he could duplicate exactly what he did last year or potentially beat those numbers
01:22in 2026. Yeah I think just to you know you mentioned Kubiak and I think it's going to lead
01:31to some some questions around what the Seattle offense is going to look like because he is someone
01:36who people were very very excited about uh as you know that Seattle season went on even we talk about
01:43how he it was a little what three week window but he took the the league by storm uh with
01:48that Saints
01:49run there so the the Seahawks trying to make some deals but Joe I I like what you said about
01:55the idea
01:55of JSN being able to replicate that season because sometimes as much as it's on the player it's about
02:04your quarterback and we have two consecutive seasons of Sam Darnold putting his number one wide receiver
02:13in a position to have massive seasons we just told you what the JSN numbers were from this past year
02:19the season prior Justin Jefferson had 103 yards 50 or 103 catches 1500 yards and 10 touchdowns as well
02:28so health willing you have to assume that Jackson Smith and Jigba's floor is 115 and 10 pretty much
02:39right when we think about what this season could be and it becomes interesting Joe when we think
02:46about the offensive player of the year race very often it's not we don't see repeat winners you're
02:54not just competing against yourself or or against others you're competing against yourself and what
02:59you did last year so I think it's great news for JSN to get this money and for Seattle to
03:04get the deal
03:04done I think about the reigning offensive player of the year and I think it's fair to think next
03:10season they're going to need more help from you know Shahid who they brought back and when we think
03:15about the race for OPOI there are other receivers I'll be more interested in especially someone like
03:23your guy Jamar Chase yeah I think when you look at the overall market Kevin I mean you're absolutely
03:29right and and we've seen teams have a Super Bowl hangover effect right especially when you lose
03:36a signal caller like Clint Kubiak that always could potentially derail the momentum of an offense
03:43right it takes a while we talk about these coordinators seeing it through a different set
03:48of eyes and they have to get into a rhythm so I agree with that would I be jumping in
03:53the market on JSN
03:54to maybe just be that standout wide receiver no I would I would most you know for me I would
04:01buy
04:01into more Jamar Chase maybe Justin Jefferson with the addition of Kyler and and that offense with
04:07O'Connell and there's some other playmakers coming back from injury as well so I understand that but if
04:13you're Seattle and you look at the big picture JSN was 85 percent of the passing productivity in that
04:21offense and when healthy could just just take games over he's much like Puka Nakua in that aspect no
04:29matter what they force feed him the football and he steps up he has great hands he catches the football
04:35at its highest point when he comes out of breaks he doesn't lose top end speed and that's what you
04:41want
04:41to see and he's young hasn't been injured throughout his career so that's always a positive big picture
04:47when you look at Seattle's success yes they have to be motivated and they have to overcome
04:53Clint Kubiak's absence but as long as JSN's on the football field he's going to put up numbers I mean
04:59I think there's no doubt 12 to 1500 yards isn't out of the realm of possibility next year
05:05you
05:05Here we go.
