00:06You and John and I, we all kind of assumed that this was going to happen, but now it is
00:11official.
00:12What are your first thoughts, Josh?
00:14Well, not only did we find out about it and kind of knew about it for weeks and knew it
00:20was unofficially official,
00:22so did Vegas because the Vegas odds for the Rams winning the Super Bowl did not change.
00:30Because he already knew that Aaron Donald was going to be a Ram.
00:34Therefore, they're just like, they're already overwhelming favorites to win the Super Bowl, so he's going to go.
00:41And now we are looking at what could realistically be the greatest defense statistically that we have ever witnessed in
00:52the NFL
00:53when you're adding Aaron Donald to this.
00:55And to put it in a fantasy football perspective, in your standard Yahoo fantasy football league,
01:03last year in 2025, the Rams had the fourth best defense.
01:09Oh, my God.
01:11They were fourth last year.
01:14And then you added Miles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, Jalen Watson, and Aaron Donald.
01:18Goodness.
01:21And the all-time record in Yahoo fantasy for your average points a game for a defense,
01:292019 New England Patriots, which averaged 14.5 points a game.
01:35They're going to get at least 18 with this team.
01:38Like, this is the type of team where you're wanting to draft a defense in the seventh round
01:44as opposed to waiting until, like, round 13 or 14 like you typically do for a defense.
01:49This is beyond special because no one's going to be able to get any rushing yards on them.
01:56The offense is going to put up a million points.
01:58And then when the quarterback has to try to throw the ball, no matter who their opposition is,
02:03you're getting sandwiched between two of the greatest defensive players to ever walk the face of the earth.
02:09Normally when we see something like this, I would say, yo, they're going to score too fast.
02:14And the defense is going to be on the field too long.
02:16But this might be a situation where the offense has to start slowing down
02:19because they've been on the field too much.
02:22Like, I'm anticipating this thing being crazy.
02:26If you're speaking from a fantasy standpoint, outside of the defense,
02:31do you see the Rams offense and anybody on that offense that somebody can sneak and steal
02:38before it's too late when people still have fantasy coming up?
02:42I do.
02:43I definitely have two names that are definitely familiar names to us,
02:47but maybe for, like, the mainstream fantasy audience, not so much.
02:51One would be Blake Corum.
02:53And I bring up Blake Corum because he's going to be getting a few more carries this season
02:59with Kyron Williams taking, you know, the majority of them.
03:03However, with the Rams seemingly going to pull ahead,
03:07there's going to be more garbage time carries for guys like Blake Corum
03:11or even Ronnie Rivers to get and put up extra points.
03:15The other guy would be Terrence Ferguson.
03:18We saw how great Matt Stafford was to Colby Parkinson last year
03:23as far as how much he loved the tight end
03:25because everyone was so busy guarding Puka and Devontae Adams.
03:28Terrence Ferguson was the young one that all of a sudden was able to emerge
03:31with a deep threat as a tight end.
03:34He's going to be a great sleeper pick as late as your backup tight end
03:39that, as the season progresses, will merge in
03:42and definitely provide you some good points.
