00:00This post-mortem for the Dolphins season is the same one we've been doing
00:04since the show started, which is –
00:09I mean, we never have talked about a playoff win
00:11for as long as the show has been out.
00:15Very rarely do we get to talk about the playoffs themselves,
00:18just a couple of seasons in that.
00:21Crowder, just so you know, I told Hawk,
00:24let's just replay last year's Black Monday show.
00:27We probably could.
00:27We've been going through the same thing, like Hawk said, for years.
00:3225 years without a playoff win.
00:34What have we been to, like, four?
00:36Where are you?
00:37You're in a very – it looks like on the video feed –
00:39like a very spacious area.
00:42Yeah, I'm in a – actually, you're going to love this.
00:45An Airbnb.
00:47I saw someone tweet out, you know how I feel about these Airbnbs
00:51and the verbos.
00:54I saw someone go, hey, I've got a great idea to go head-to-head with an Airbnb.
01:00We buy a building that's got, say, I don't know, 200 or 300 apartments,
01:05and then we rent out each apartment on its own
01:10so that we have an entire building full of Airbnbs.
01:15We'll call it a hotel.
01:18I do not understand.
01:21So where is your Airbnb?
01:22Where are you?
01:23Bradenton, Florida.
01:24We have to sign and move in LeChan and Ava to IMG.
01:29Oh, that's right.
01:30I forgot that's – when does their session start?
01:33Today or –
01:34Tomorrow.
01:35Today's move-in day and first day of class is tomorrow.
01:38Oh, very exciting.
01:39Did you not see Crowder's tweet yesterday?
01:42I don't think I did.
01:43The first tweet Crowder has sent – I'm not kidding.
01:46I checked this out.
01:47I had the whole thing planned.
01:48The first tweet Crowder has personally sent – there's some retweets on his account
01:52since November 18th.
01:53But even those tweets back in November are like – you could tell.
01:57Whoever operates his socials.
01:59Yeah, they're certainly not his.
02:02Crowder tweets out – yes, I couldn't believe this.
02:03During the pregame show, I'm like, what's going on here?
02:06He tweets out, I'm headed to Bradenton, Florida with my son.
02:11Anybody want to go fishing or know a captain in the area?
02:15At me, I got the gas money.
02:17Get out of here.
02:22What is that?
02:24So, did you get any takers?
02:26No.
02:26Well, I had some pump fakes.
02:34Hey, my cousin loves to fish.
02:36Well, do something.
02:37You are so odd, man.
02:39You are – because Chad Johnson does that all the time.
02:42But generally, it's like, hey, do you want to pick me up at the airport?
02:45I'll give you $500.
02:47Crowder's offering gas money from, like, Bradenton to some crick.
02:52So, Crowder, you're saying it didn't work out with wine guy, advocate,
02:56relationship builder, eighth-generation Floridian Dan Thompson.
03:00Me and Dan didn't link.
03:03He did not link.
03:04You're looking at a fishing partner.
03:07Dan Thompson responds to him, I can take you.
03:10Crowder responds, check your DM, bro.
03:12So, I was waiting.
03:13I've been waiting for 24 hours.
03:15I would have been checking the police reports.
03:18I know.
03:22Everybody acts like they want to do a brother a favor until the brother asks for a favor.
03:26Now they disappear on me.
03:27That is funny, man.
03:30I actually thought it was genius.
03:32Well, I guess.
03:34I mean, I think if maybe you were more active on Twitter, like, that almost seems like –
03:42Like, I would look at that if I saw the tweet and go, yeah, this is someone trying to kill me.
03:49If someone responded –
03:50Someone at the end of that tweet was going to end up in the morgue.
03:54Either you or the guy that you were trying to get.
03:57Like, someone –
03:59It has morgue ending written all over it.
04:02Well, I probably shouldn't go with this guy tonight, then, should I?
04:07Now you got me scared.
04:09I got a great midnight fishing hole.
04:14Seven o'clock trip.
04:15I'm serious.
04:15I got a seven o'clock trip scheduled tonight.
04:17Look out, man.
04:19Here's a couple of tweets.
04:20Joe Shad from the Palm Beach Post.
04:23He tweeted,
04:23The Dolphins have no GM, no surefire franchise QB, a head coach with no playoff wins in four years,
04:32potentially $127 million in dead cap on Tua and Tyreek Hill, and, and, and.
04:39That is not the recipe for a great offseason or a great next season.
04:48A couple other notes.
04:49Joe Shad from the Palm Beach Post also tweeted,
04:52Since the 2000 season, playoff wins, wins.
04:58New England Patriots, 30.
05:01Dolphins, zero.
05:03So the Patriots are winning that battle.
05:05Playoff wins in the last 25 years.
05:09And Cam Wolf, he pointed out the Dolphins start interviewing GMs today.
05:14Certainly their requests went out.
05:15The Dolphins GM search group.
05:18If you're playing along at home or you missed the news over the weekend, the Dolphins GM search group is Stephen Ross, Danny Silman, Tom Garfinkel, Brandon Shore, Troy Aikman, and Dan Marino.
05:34I just, I don't know what to do with any of this.
05:40All of this is just wild.
05:42We haven't talked since this Dan, I mean, this Troy Aikman thing.
05:46Yeah.
05:46Dan is Dan Marino.
05:47Dan is the face of the Dolphins.
05:50We need Troy Aikman to find a GM.
05:53This is what I think happened.
05:54I think I may have said that.
05:55Did I say this to you when we were on the air?
05:57I don't think we were on the air.
05:59You know what?
05:59Okay.
06:00This is what I said to a friend of mine.
06:01Then I think Stephen Ross, he does get enamored with celebrity and big names.
06:07We know that when he first came down here.
06:09So Troy Aikman was on that Monday night football broadcast, who did they lose to Steelers and was crushing Mike McDaniel and their decision to kind of lackluster, have this lackluster finish of the game when maybe they still could have pulled things out.
06:28And this is just my guess that Stephen Ross called Troy Aikman the next day or the day after.
06:36And he's like, Hey, I saw, I heard that you were being very critical of Mike McDaniel.
06:41And I was curious what your thoughts, like you thought that was bad coaching or whatever.
06:44They start talking.
06:45And then Stephen Ross goes, you know what?
06:47I'd love to have you part of my GM search committee.
06:49I'll give you a quarter million dollars.
06:52Will you appear on a couple of Zooms with us?
06:54That is exactly where my mind went the very first time I saw the news.
06:59And Appel and I even talked about that on Friday.
07:00But Barry Jackson and a couple others pointed out that the timelines don't match there.
07:07We found out a couple more details.
07:09Troy Aikman, while calling the Dolphins on Monday night football against the Steelers, got to go back a couple of weeks, had already agreed.
07:18No, that's not true.
07:19Is that?
07:20Yeah.
07:20Are you sure?
07:22A hundred percent.
07:22He had already agreed to undertake this assignment with the Miami Dolphins.
07:29Hmm.
07:29Yeah.
07:30Are you sure on that?
07:31I haven't seen that anywhere.
07:32I double checked it.
07:34Tobin and I talked about it on game day uncensored yesterday as well, because we all kind of assumed the same thing, which was Stephen Ross tunes into the game.
07:42Right.
07:42Or hears that his coach is getting crushed for something.
07:46He's like, this guy sounds like he's got to figure it out.
07:48Let me reach out to that guy.
07:49Oh, man, that's pretty genius.
07:52The bad mouth situation you're about to fix it.
07:55That's brilliant.
07:56I like I I'm that's why I'm having trouble believing that's true, because like that is really underhanded.
08:03But that's true.
08:04It makes it all so much funnier.
08:05If you think about it, because Troy Aikman sitting there, he's literally being paid to evaluate this team top to bottom.
08:12Right.
08:12And he's watching a head coach crushing him.
08:14And he's saying, what is this is the guy that Stephen Ross isn't trusting to run this organization?
08:20Like, what is he doing?
08:22Crushing.
08:22Well, anyway, I want to talk about the Dolphins today.
08:24I want to talk about the Hurricanes today.
08:26Mike Cunio is going to join us.
08:27Clay Ferreiro is going to join us.
08:28Let's do a look at the headlines here with Solana brought to you by Durell Kia.
08:32You always pay less with your pricey though at Durell Kia.
08:36Visit them at Durell Kia or Durell Kia dot com.
08:38Where do you guys want to start?
08:39But there's so much going on.
08:43Dealer's choice.
08:44Lady's choice.
08:45We'll make this lady's choice.
08:47Solana.
08:49Jimmy.
08:51Don't look at me, Jack.
08:53Well, with that blouse you have on.
08:57It's a dry fit.
08:59That ain't no dry fit.
09:01That's the opposite.
09:02That's a wet fit.
09:06I'm not certain you know what a dry fit is.
09:09Help me.
09:09You got all the blouse.
09:13Mike McDaniel spoke after the game yesterday and I know he's supposed to meet today as
09:17well with the media.
09:17I don't know if that has already begun or not, but Mike McDaniel spoke often yesterday.
09:25I don't know how much you guys listen to this about the future.
09:28Yep.
09:28And by the way, I don't blame him like he hasn't been fired.
09:31He's been asked is what they're asking about, too.
09:33It's not not like he's just, you know, off the cuff going.
09:35I want to talk about the future, but he did speak several times about the future.
09:39And like if he's going to be here, ESPN reported before the game yesterday that there hasn't
09:43been any decision.
09:44Josina Anderson this morning, quote, I'm told Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has been
09:49recently expressing confidence about his job status to others.
09:53It feels like and this could change, but it feels like this is trending towards Mike McDaniel being back next year, especially when you look at the names that are reportedly the Dolphins are reaching out to as potential GM candidates.
10:08Well, all I would say is this.
10:09You've seen so many coaches fired already.
10:12If you're going to fire your coach, why would you start a week later than everyone else in
10:18being able to attract a really good head coach to your team?
10:22You know what I mean?
10:22Like if there's a race for the next great head coach going on right now, it would be very Dolphins,
10:28but you kind of don't want to start a few days after everyone else.
10:32You'd like to get the jump on that.
10:34So it leads me to believe he'll be back.
10:37I think the way that they lost to the Patriots, the team that you're supposed to be on top of after Brady Belichick leaving,
10:43and now they're the number one damn seed in the AFC.
10:46What are they?
10:47They're number two, right?
10:48Broncos came out number one.
10:50Yes.
10:51Right?
10:53Broncos are the number one seed.
10:54Number one.
10:55Number two in AFC, and they lose a Hall of Fame quarterback, Hall of Fame coach, but it's the way they lost.
11:00They got the hell beat out of them and embarrassed.
11:03They were down 14-0 in the snap of a finger.
11:05So I think that reignites them.
11:08We got to do something about this.
11:10But to your point, Hawk, if you want to do something, you should have done something before.
11:14That game led me to believe, though, that Mike McDaniel was told he was safe
11:18because I feel like he would vehemently argue sitting Devon, A-Chan, and everyone else if he was coaching for his job.
11:27I believe he was told by Champ Kelly and Stephen Ross, hey, let's deactivate a bunch of these players.
11:32Let's just get through this game, and we'll get to next season.
11:35So that even led me to believe that he's safe.
11:39I think he's safe.
11:40And some of those defenders, when the ball carrier had the ball, they passed on the tackle.
11:48Checkmate.
11:49Can you yell pass?
11:50As the ball carrier is coming at you, you can just yell pass and opt out.
11:55I'll take a rain check on this tackle.
11:58The only thing I'd say, Hawk, is we read an article from Barry Jackson in the Herald last week,
12:02and I think you and I were both in agreement with what he was suggesting, which was don't make a decision today.
12:09Maybe make the decision tomorrow, but allow things to marinate for a second and make the best decision.
12:14Which I get, except for the fact that when you see all these coaches being fired,
12:18and you know now there's going to be a mad scramble to get the next great head coach,
12:23why would you purposely start?
12:26Like, if you haven't figured it out by now,
12:29what could you possibly figure out over the next two or three days
12:33that would be the deciding factor to keeping him or relieving him of his duties?
12:38And then the cog is just sitting there, spoiling.
12:42Right.
12:42You're about to get a new GM.
12:44You saw they benched Tua.
12:45Like, everything around him.
12:47So, there's no answers, but Dick Daniel is the one that has to stay.
12:51It's crazy.
12:52It's crazy.
12:53By the way, speaking of Tua, Joe Shad tweeted out,
12:57asked if he's hoping for a fresh start.
12:59This is just moments ago.
13:01Dolphins QB Tua Tonga-Vailoa said,
13:03that would be dope.
13:04I would be good with it.
13:05And a very important note to that is that Barry Jackson let,
13:14he tweeted out, the three of us who asked him, Tua,
13:17made sure he knew that we meant elsewhere.
13:21So, he answered that question.
13:24Because you could say, oh, is he hoping for a fresh start next season
13:27with the Dolphins?
13:28Like, okay, we got this season behind us.
13:29And maybe he will say that's what he was answering.
13:32But Barry Jackson is clarifying that we made sure he understood
13:37what we were asking him.
13:38And Barry Jackson says he very politely declined to speak beyond that.
13:44Yeah.
13:46Yes, Tua wants a fresh start.
13:48Because he has $53 million guaranteed.
13:50He'll go anywhere.
13:52He's going to get paid.
13:54They don't like him here.
13:55They benched him.
13:56Yeah.
13:56They need to ask somebody else, not Tua.
14:01We'll get back to the Miami Dolphins.
14:03But there are six names that have already been reported,
14:06whether from Ian Rappaport, Tom Pelissero, Adam Schefter,
14:10potential candidates the Finns have requested interviews with.
14:13Based on reports, three members of the San Francisco 49ers,
14:18people that Mike McDaniel probably or did work with while he was in San Fran.
14:23Which, again, if you're putting the puzzle pieces together, you go,
14:27okay, Mike McDaniel may have said to Stephen Ross and Champ Kelly
14:32and whoever else, Troy Aikman, hey, here's some good quality candidates
14:37from the Niners.
14:38I know these guys.
14:42Mike McDaniel is now calling the shot.
14:44So, he's a losing coach that now is partial owner?
14:52What is going on here?
14:54What is going on here?
14:59And there's an Eagles assistant GM, Alec Halliby, Rams assistant GM,
15:05John McKay, Packers VP of player personnel, John Eric Sullivan.
15:09The three names from the Niners, VP of player personnel, Tariq Ahmad,
15:14the director of scouting and football ops, Josh Williams,
15:17and the assistant GM, RJ Gillen.
15:21To be fair, all of these organizations are winning organizations,
15:25which I think has to be the right direction here.
15:27You want smart people.
15:28We're making smart moves in other places.
15:30But, yeah, the Niner stuff is sketchy.
15:32By the way, there's just a tweet from Tom Pelissero.
15:36The Falcons have requested an interview with Anthony Weaver
15:40for their head coaching job.
15:42Deuces.
15:44Adios.
15:48As you just said, Solana, you want to interview winning people
15:50from winning organizations.
15:52Unless you're the Falcons.
15:53He pissed me off the last two weeks.
15:55And people are crediting Anthony Weaver.
15:58And, like, I get it.
15:59At times this year, the defense looked better.
16:01He pissed me off the last two weeks where he's talking about
16:03all the things he would have done at the start of the season.
16:06And then he's blaming new faces and young players.
16:09And it's like, yeah, but you're paid to know that going into the season.
16:12You're right.
16:13You did have new personnel.
16:15You did have young players.
16:16You did have to fill a bunch of holes with different guys.
16:19But it's your job to evaluate that before the season
16:21and make the proper adjustments.
16:23Not complain week 17 and 18 that you were given, you know,
16:27a bad group of guys to start the season with.
16:30I feel like Anthony Weaver and Vic Fangio have a text thread together
16:34just crushing McDaniel.
16:36Like, just going, can you believe what we've gone through
16:41as these teams under this guy?
16:45This dude is terrible.
16:49Please get away from him.
16:50He's requesting a conversation to get out there.
16:53But, no, I'm with you, Solana.
16:54But, almost to that point of our joke, is he overcoming McDaniel?
17:00Like, do people look at him as, damn, Weaver can call a defense.
17:03He's on this soft, you know, uncoached, you know,
17:07no culture having team, and he's still making it work.
17:10So, I guess I'm defending him because I would never think he'd have
17:13a head coaching opportunity coming up here.
17:16You guys see Perk's story about Mike McDaniel's bat
17:19that he's carrying around the facility?
17:21No.
17:21Oh, my, you didn't see that?
17:22No.
17:23My cage, a live bat.
17:26Yeah, literally, a bat.
17:28A rabid bat.
17:31His bat, baby bat.
17:33You didn't see this story, Mark?
17:34Listen, you guys want a culture change?
17:36We're all going to have rabies.
17:39That'll toughen us up.
17:44Mike McDaniel, Chris Perkins found out over this past week
17:48that Mike McDaniel, over the past couple weeks
17:51since Chris Greer was let go,
17:53has been just casually walking around,
17:56carrying it to meetings, carrying it to practice
17:58around the Miami Gardens practice facility,
18:02a legitimate wooden baseball bat,
18:04like a Louisville slugger.
18:06Interesting.
18:07He's taking it to meetings.
18:09He's talking to players while holding said bat.
18:11And he's just carrying it.
18:13It's supposed to be some sort of euphemism for what?
18:19Did I get that right?
18:20I'm not certain.
18:21I'd like to hear it again in a sentence.
18:25Euphemism.
18:26Euphemism.
18:27Euphemism.
18:27Mm-hmm.
18:27I got it.
18:30It's a message for, I don't know.
18:33You tell me.
18:36It's such a great segment, too, man.
18:40I want to see what the definition of euphemism is.
18:42He got to defend himself.
18:46How do you spell that?
18:47U-F?
18:49Well, first of all, it's euphemism.
18:50Yeah.
18:52Yeah.
18:53No, it's not.
18:54My N's sound like M's.
18:55A mild or indirect word or expression for one considered to be too harsh or blunt.
19:04Yeah.
19:05It doesn't.
19:05You can't.
19:06An object wouldn't be a euphemism for something.
19:09It's the.
19:10What coach was that that had the lobster trap in the locker room?
19:13That was Lonnie.
19:15That's.
19:16This is him saying we got to talk to him.
19:17At least he didn't carry it around.
19:20He just kind of put it somewhere.
19:23Like, he went to HomeGoods.
19:26He saw a lobster trap.
19:27He's like, yeah, you know, I'll put that in the locker room.
19:29And let's be honest.
19:30You don't have to be in a locker room to know this.
19:33Those 53 guys see that little dude walking around with a bat.
19:37Right.
19:38It's just a little dude with a bat.
19:39Hey.
19:41Hey, Jordan, man, we got to tighten up, boy.
19:44His coach got that bat.
19:45No.
19:45He doesn't squeak when he hits things.
19:48Well, Jordan Brooks declined to comment on the bat.
19:51He said, I don't know what it's for.
19:52I have no idea.
19:53He just declined.
19:54And guess what?
19:54Alec Engle, there to the rescue, talked about the deep messaging that the bat provides.
19:59They better.
19:59They better give Jordan Brooks some money because he's going to leave.
20:02He can't stay in this damn place.
20:04Leroy Horde confirming via text that you said euphemism.
20:10Hey, Leroy, I listened to all four hours today, bro.
20:13I'd settle down.
20:14I listened to all four hours.
20:16You can't, I completely admit, uh...
20:29You can do it all that.
20:31You can go forward or do it.
20:33I listened to all four hours later.
20:34You can't use it all the time.
