00:37Well, the noisiest cafe today, Ben's putting up some shelves.
00:42Ow, ow, ow, ow.
00:46Is that some sort of new dance, Ben?
00:48Oh, no, Small, I've just dropped a piece of wood on my foot.
00:53Hello, everyone, I'm just putting up some new shelves for the kitchen.
00:56We need some more space to store all our ingredients.
01:00How are you getting along, Ben?
01:01Oh, well, I've nearly finished, Small.
01:02I've got lots of tools.
01:04Come and have a look.
01:05I've got a hammer for hammering.
01:08Hammer, hammer, hammer.
01:10A screwdriver for screwing in screws.
01:14Squeak, squeak.
01:17A tape measure for measuring.
01:19Measure, measure, measure.
01:21Some pliers, some nails for hammering in, and some screws for the screwdriver.
01:26What next, Ben?
01:29Hmm, some more hammering, I think.
01:35Oh, hee-hee-hee-hee.
01:37I think these shelves are going to take a long time to make.
01:43No time for shelf building now, Ben.
01:45We've got a customer.
01:47Oh, those shelves were so nearly finished as well.
01:50Come on, then, Small.
01:51Go and see who it is.
01:53I'm on my way.
01:55Woo-hoo!
02:05Who's the customer today, Small?
02:06Oh, you'll never guess who's coming to the cafe today, Ben.
02:14Give us some clues.
02:15OK, well, it's someone who gives you a hand.
02:19Give me a hand?
02:20Hmm, can you guess?
02:22And he's got some tools, too.
02:25Hammers and nails and screwdrivers.
02:28Ah-ha.
02:30Is it someone who makes shelves like me?
02:32I hope not.
02:33Oi!
02:34But I think I've guessed who it is.
02:37Have you?
02:38Is it a carpenter?
02:40Yes, it's Callum the carpenter.
02:42Now, what would a carpenter like to eat?
02:45I think it's time to look in my book.
02:57We need a story to help us cook.
02:59Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
03:03Little Cook's adventures in the big world.
03:06Let me see.
03:09One day I popped into the activity club.
03:12I wanted to see how my friends Joe and Charlie were getting on.
03:16Joe was going to try cooking,
03:18and Charlie was going to try making.
03:21I couldn't wait to see what they'd been up to.
03:24Charlie showed me the pencil holder he'd made.
03:26I put a pencil in it, but it fell straight out of the bottom.
03:30Whoops!
03:32Joe had baked a cake, but it had sunk a bit,
03:36and the cream filling had smudged everywhere.
03:41Charlie showed me the toy car he'd been making.
03:43The wheels were a bit wobbly.
03:45I gave it a push, and the doors fell off.
03:49Sorry, Charlie.
03:51Joe had made milkshakes.
03:53They were a bit lumpy, and she'd used tomato ketchup instead of strawberry.
03:59Oh, no!
04:01Joe was getting a bit fed up cooking,
04:03and Charlie was getting a bit fed up making.
04:06Hey, I've got an idea, I said.
04:10Why don't you swap?
04:12Joe can try making, and Charlie can try cooking.
04:15It wasn't long before Joe had made a perfect set of tiny drawers.
04:21Brilliant!
04:22And Charlie had baked a delicious tray of cakes.
04:25Perfect!
04:26Now, Joe and Charlie were having a great time at the activity club.
04:31Little Cook to the rescue once again!
04:35That was a great adventure.
04:38Great story, Little Cook.
04:39And look, I've finished the shelves.
04:41What do you think?
04:43Whee-hey!
04:47They look...
04:48Brilliant!
04:52No time to look at shelves now, Ben.
04:54We've got a hungry carpenter to cook for.
04:57You're right, Little Cook.
04:58And what can we make for somebody so hungry?
05:09I know!
05:11Big Cook's big cookery book!
05:13Of course, the Big Cookery book!
05:15There's recipes for everything in there!
05:17And where do we look for things to cook?
05:19In the book!
05:20In the book!
05:21In Big Cook's book!
05:24Here we are, the perfect thing.
05:26A veggie tool belt.
05:27Brilliant!
05:28And it looks yummy!
05:30Come on then, Little Cook.
05:31You read out the ingredients, and I'll see if we've got them.
05:33OK, let's see.
05:34We're going to need sweet potato.
05:36Sweet potato.
05:37Over we go.
05:38Yep, got one of those, Small.
05:39Carrots.
05:40Carrots.
05:40Carrots.
05:40Well, we've always got carrots.
05:42Except when we run out, of course.
05:44Big Mushrooms.
05:45Big Mushrooms in the fridge.
05:47Big Cook's got big mushrooms.
05:49Yep.
05:50Asparagus.
05:51Asparagus.
05:52Here we are.
05:52Got the asparagus.
05:53Yep.
05:54Cobbs of baby corn.
05:55Baby corn.
05:56In the fridge.
05:57Got it, Small.
05:59Mange too.
06:00Mange too as well, yep.
06:02Natural yogurt.
06:03Yogurt.
06:04Here we are, nice and cool.
06:05Got it.
06:06Parsley.
06:07Parsley.
06:08There we go, yep.
06:10And olive oil.
06:11Olive oil in the cupboard.
06:13Over we go.
06:15Got the olive oil.
06:16Brilliant.
06:18Here we are.
06:19Everything we need for the recipe.
06:20There's a lot of vegetables in today's recipe, isn't there, Small?
06:24And some with really interesting names.
06:27I wonder where they all come from.
06:29I'll tell you what.
06:30Why don't you whiz off and find out, Little Cook?
06:31And I'll get everything ready.
06:33That's a great idea.
06:34See you later.
06:35Hoo-hoo-hoo!
06:37Hey, why don't you come along too?
06:40Whoosh!
06:44Go, Small.
06:45Go, Small.
06:46Whiz away!
06:47I wonder what he'll see today.
06:54There's a train.
06:58Choo-choo!
06:59Whoa, I've come to a busy minute here.
07:29market. Charlie and her mum are going to buy some vegetables. That man runs the market
07:46stall. He sells lots of different fruits and vegetables. There's some asparagus and some
07:54munch too. Oh, they're sweet potatoes. And look, mushrooms. They're all the ingredients we
08:07need for the carpenter's belt. Charlie's mum tells the man what she would like to buy.
08:20And he weighs it and puts it in a bag for her. There's some baby sweetcorn cobs. They'd
08:34like a packet of those too. Charlie is being very helpful.
08:42That's right. Give him the mushrooms. That's everything they need. Now they can go home
09:06and cook. Bye. I'd better get back to the cafe.
09:11Oh, brilliant carpentry. Even if I do say so myself.
09:18I'm back. Wow. Your shelves are still standing, Ben. Of course. My shelves will last forever
09:35small. Did you see any exciting vegetables? Oh, yes. I went to an amazing market where
09:51there were lots of different fruits and vegetables and colours too. Well, come on. Let's get
09:56cooking. We're all ready, so take a look. And we will show you how to cook.
10:03The jelly boats and pirates go with princess pea pies. Carrot cakes and fruity smiles
10:10and envelopes surprise. We love our cafe and we love to cook. We have a fantastic recipe book.
10:20He is big cook and he is small. Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all. When your tummy
10:31gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat. You can make something delicious to eat.
10:41Have you cleaned the surfaces? Yes. Have you washed your hands? Yes. All clean and ready
10:51to cook. Do you remember the ingredients to a veggie tool belt? You do. There was sweet potato.
10:58One medium sized and chopped into cubes. Carrots. One small one cut in half. A big mushroom.
11:06Cut into three slices. Sometimes they're called field mushrooms. Asparagus. Four. Cobbs of
11:13baby corn. Three cobs of baby corn. Mange two. Four. Natural yoghurt. One tablespoon. Olive
11:21oil. One tablespoon. And parsley. Two tablespoons chopped. Whoopee. Let's get started. I'll start
11:30by cooking all these exciting vegetables. The first thing you need to do is bring some water to boil
11:35in a pan. And you'll need to get your grown-up helper to do that bit for you. Because remember,
11:39the water in the pan will be hot, hot, hot. I'm going to pop on the steamer and pour in the sweet potato.
11:46In it goes. Then put on the lid and let it cook until it's nice and soft. Now if you don't have a steamer,
11:55you could always use a metal sieve over a pan. Hey! Look at all the mess! I don't believe it! Big cook
12:03Ben may have made some shelves, but he's made a big mess too! Oh I know! I'll just stack everything
12:09together out of the way! Hey! It'll be like building a tower! Once the sweet potato is cooked, ask your grown-up
12:18helper to put it into a bowl, like I've done here. Then it's time to steam the rest of the vegetables.
12:24All apart from the mushrooms. So, in they go. Pop the lid on. And they'll only take about three to four minutes.
12:36Hee hee hee! Do you like my tower? It's getting taller! Ho ho ho ho!
12:42I've cut three slices of the thick mushroom. This one, with the stalk attached, is going to be the hammerhead.
12:48And these two are going to be the pliers pincers.
12:52Wahey! I don't think my tower can get any taller! I'm really pleased of it! What do you think?
12:59Little cook's big tower! Ho ho ho!
13:03I've taken the vegetables out of the steamer and popped them into another pan with a little oil.
13:07So now, I can add the mushrooms. There we go. And toss them around until they're coated. Round and round.
13:23Here we are. And soon, you'll notice they go a nice bright colour.
13:32My tower! Ho ho ho!
13:36Ho ho ho ho! Oh no!
13:39What are you up to, little cook?
13:42Little cook's tower isn't big anymore. I think it would have been stronger if I'd used a hammer and nails.
13:48Now I've got more mess to clean up.
13:50Ho ho ho ho! Be careful, little cook!
13:53Ho ho ho! Now, it's time to use a masher to mash up the sweet potato.
13:58Here we are. Mashing it all up.
14:03Ho ho! This is great!
14:05And now, I can add the yoghurt.
14:10In it goes. Scoop it all in. And then the parsley. And then now, we can give it a good old mash! Ho ho!
14:25Wee-hee! Ho ho! Mash, mash, mash, mash, mash!
14:29Woo hoo! I love mashing! This mashing is really fun!
14:34Be careful, Ben!
14:37Ho ho ho ho! Don't worry, Ben! I'll just go and get myself cleaned up!
14:45OK, Small! Now, I've arranged the mash in a long strip on a plate. Like this. And this is our tool belt.
14:56So now, I can start to arrange our tools.
14:58So, the first thing I'm going to do is make the buckle for the belt.
15:03And I'm going to use the mange-tu.
15:06Now, mange-tu is French for eat-all. The pod and the peas inside.
15:13I'm putting them into a square in the middle.
15:17And I'm going to use the baby corncob as the clasp.
15:22I'm back! Ho ho ho! That looks brilliant, Big Cook!
15:28Now, I can add a piece of carrot.
15:32On one side, I'm going to use the mushroom as the hammerhead.
15:38There we are.
15:40Hammer, hammer, hammer!
15:42On the opposite side of the hammer, I've used the carrot and asparagus to make a screwdriver.
15:49And I've also used the baby corncob and the mushroom to make the pliers.
15:54And then, you can use all the leftover vegetables to make screws.
15:59And there we have it. A veggie tool belt with some delicious vegetable tools.
16:06Ho ho ho ho ho! What's that? I think it was your shelves again, Ben!
16:12Oh no! I thought those shelves would last forever!
16:15Now we've got more mess to clean up, Ben!
16:18Well, we'll have to clean it up once we've given Callum his tool belt.
16:21So...
16:22One veggie tool belt coming through!
16:24There!
16:25All done!
16:26So what do we do now?
16:27Can we play?
16:28Not yet!
16:29Time to clean and put away!
16:30Hurray!
16:31What do we do now?
16:32Can we play?
16:33Not yet!
16:34Time to clean and put away!
16:35Hurray!
16:36Wash, wipe, scrub and clean Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam!
16:51My name's Ben and my name's Paul We've got the cleanest kitchen of all!
16:59Tidy all the bits and bobs The things that help us do our job
17:02Ingredients we'll put away Ready for use another day!
17:06Pots and pans we'll start to smell If we don't wash them really well
17:09And now it's clear let's all smile We'll be finished in a little while
17:13All around, up and down We've got the cleanest cafe in town!
17:21A-ha!
17:22Here comes the plate!
