Peak Design Camera Strap Anchor Links Unboxing, Assembly, and First Use Review
Transcript
00:00Hello and welcome back to another exciting episode. Today we're going to do another small but mighty unboxing.
00:09Now this is something that's going to make my videography, especially my unboxing stuff, quite a bit more efficient.
00:18And I'll get to that in a minute.
00:20For instance, the Anchor Links by Peak Design.
00:28Now I got this for my R10 from Canon so that I can take off the neck strap very quickly when I put it on the tripod.
00:41So I can increase my efficiency in the studio.
00:48Then of course put the strap back on when I'm going out to do shoots in the field.
00:55So hopefully this will work out.
00:58As you can see on the current setup, I have the strap that's pretty much connected on there permanently.
01:07So when it's on a tripod, it does kind of hang down and it can get caught.
01:12And if it gets too caught, then everything's going down.
01:19So that's why I got those adapter clips.
01:23I did buy this on Amazon.
01:26Came a little beat up.
01:28So just open it up.
01:28I'm supposed to have two of the points for the strap and for the anchors.
01:36Let's see if I can figure out how to get in this thing.
01:40Aha!
01:42I can get in it from the bottom.
01:46All right.
01:48Go ahead and pull this out.
01:52Nice.
01:54It does have a quick connecting adapter.
01:56And then inside the box, it says,
02:02Welcome to Peak Design Ecosystem.
02:04And it kind of tells you the other stuff that it can sell you.
02:08Which I'm sure they have no problem doing that.
02:11Open it up.
02:12Oh, there's the instructions.
02:15Nice.
02:18Slid right out.
02:19Look at that.
02:21Okay.
02:21So it looks like...
02:28I'll just push it straight out.
02:36So in order to release this,
02:39you've got to push down and push up.
02:42And that releases.
02:45And then when you have a strap on,
02:48you've got to push down and pull.
02:52Click.
02:53There you go.
02:55All righty.
02:57It says,
02:58Scan Me.
02:59Oh, this is the product warranty.
03:02If the product fails,
03:03you repair or replace it for free.
03:05Does it save for how long?
03:08But I'm going to go ahead and register it anyway.
03:11Off camera.
03:13And...
03:13It says it's rated to 200 pounds.
03:1890 kilograms of force.
03:22It has a robust three-layer design.
03:25And we're supposed to replace these bands
03:27if the yellow inner core becomes visible.
03:32Okay.
03:32So I guess that's why they gave you
03:35a couple extra spare ones.
03:38Let's go ahead and...
03:40Get these out.
03:42One, two, three.
03:45Little tab on the back.
03:47Pull up.
03:48There we go.
03:57Make it a little complicated for you
03:58to get all the pieces out.
04:00But I understand
04:03with their packaging
04:03and all that.
04:09Oh, my gosh.
04:10There we go.
04:13Ta-da!
04:14All right.
04:16So we have...
04:17One, two, three, four.
04:20One, two.
04:21That's what I was promised.
04:22That's what I got.
04:24All righty.
04:24So now...
04:26We have to remember
04:29how this strap goes on.
04:31So I'm just going to take
04:32one strap off at a time.
04:36Oh, you got to push both through.
04:38That's what it is.
04:39You got to push both through.
04:42And then...
04:44Pull that back.
04:46Okay.
04:51Okay.
04:52So you should be able to pull that out.
04:56Just like that.
04:57Which then means...
04:59This...
05:02You should be able to...
05:05Put that in there.
05:10String it up through that thingy.
05:13Okay.
05:20That's where it was.
05:22And now...
05:26We got to loosen that up.
05:32So that I can get that bottom
05:34strung up in.
05:38Like that.
05:39Did I do it?
05:50Did I do it?
05:52I think I did it.
05:57Ha ha!
06:01And here I thought
06:02it was going to outsmart me.
06:04All right.
06:04Then...
06:07The anchor point
06:08says it goes
06:11through here.
06:21Then the circle
06:22goes through the hole.
06:26Comes out like that.
06:29All right.
06:30So then...
06:32If I did everything
06:33correctly...
06:35Then...
06:35This should match up.
06:38Pull.
06:40Ha ha ha!
06:42I did it!
06:43Now I just have to do it
06:45on the other side.
06:48And we're good to go.
06:49So I'll be back in a minute.
06:51So now...
06:53When I have to
06:54put this on the tripod...
06:56I don't have to
06:57try to string everything up
06:58or have the strap
07:01in the way
07:02tripping over you
07:03and all kinds of stuff...
07:04I just have to
07:04push that in.
07:07That comes off.
07:10Push that in.
07:14That comes off.
07:16And now I get to
07:17set that right on the tripod
07:18and I have
07:20nothing.
07:21Head to get in the way
07:23to bump.
07:24Accidentally pull.
07:25Which would,
07:26of course,
07:27pull the camera.
07:28and the tripod down.
07:30I like this
07:31a lot.
07:34Well, thank you
07:34for coming along with me
07:35and taking time
07:38and your patience
07:40while I figure out
07:41how to
07:42put the
07:44PD adapters
07:46on the strap
07:47for the
07:50Canon R10.
07:53And of course
07:54this can go on
07:54this is about
07:56any camera
07:56that has a strap.
07:59I think this is
08:01really going to do.
08:02I like it.
08:03And as always,
08:05have a great day.
08:07I like it.
08:07I like it.
08:08I like it.
08:22I like it.
08:23And then I like it
08:24and I like it
08:24for me.
