00:08all right we are off to a cruise yeah we're gonna get rid of this stuff
00:22originally we were gonna take the auto train down to Florida but they canceled on us okay
00:29a day before oh well there's more than one way to get there so come along with us and see

00:37see traveling down the highways and byways you will see that we're seeing less and less snow all
00:55the time it was a great travel hurt my butt a little bit but we drove down and and just

01:06that we are in Cocoa Florida not Cocoa Beach they're more expensive this is Cocoa which is about 20 minutes
01:18away in a Holiday Inn Express so we ordered a king-size room well king-size bed in a regular
01:30room and they said we don't have anymore so they upgraded us to a king-size suite look at this
01:38thing it is sweet coming in we got a little sofa table desk and mirror with little light which is
01:50really cool and look at this USB already just walking in the room and then we got the bathroom
02:02nice and functional and we already had a little spill so yeah but anyhow plenty of shelves plenty of
02:15places to store stuff put your suitcases in there all that good stuff and then of course a nuker nuker
02:24aid nuker and then a fridge which is stuck with water already yeah that star okay and then over this
02:37way we have almost a full length beer paces of the hang stuff little counter like a throw place
02:48for your keys and whatever they have safe iron iron board and they have hanger uppers and then
03:01we have tv and of course a place to open up your suitcase on some really nice drawers
03:11oh extra extra pillows and oh that's an extra comforter look at that whoa that's nice and then
03:19over here uh stuff like a huge open area i like that you can just kind of row your suitcases

03:30you can't fit it in that one place and look at this this is really cool they got plugs look

03:39it got a usb c and a usba which is the original type of um outlets there plus two regular
03:48110 outlets
03:50you got any extra outlets on the phone no but that's okay because they got those and it looks like
03:58they have the side lates so you can read and
04:04they got the same thing on this side oh that's awesome so now we're just gonna spend the night
04:13here and then we're going to see you at the port but before we do that oh i gotta tell

04:21at coco beach luann had said hey let's go to the vegan grill like the vegan grill i don't know
04:29about that
04:30and look at this oh the vegan grill it's called the coastal vegan grill and they're actually cape
04:38canaveral is the address but you it's an allergy friendly kitchen and oh my goodness do they have
04:47the choices and choices and choices and what did you think of the coastal vegan girl
04:55it was amazing the people were beautiful and you could get anything any way you wanted it and there's
05:05more than what is on the menu yes in fact i even got what's called a turkey dinner and oh
05:13that was
05:13fantastic and that's and that's not on your menu you never walk in and say hey we have these specials
05:19you interested uh and if you go in there and they say that you're interested they don't have the
05:26desserts there either oh that's right and they make their own desserts from scratch and we're talking
05:32cakes we're talking uh apple fritters uh these things that kind of look like whoopie pies but they're not
05:38exactly uh but man they look good and at least at the time we were there they were five for
05:4420 bucks
05:45but you have to take them home to eat them because the meal is just too big yes oh and
05:51and the pieces
05:52of of cake they're like huge so yeah when you get a five dollar vegan piece of cake it's not

05:58itty bitty like brownie size no this thing's huge so anyway family of four yeah they could so anyhow next

06:40and here's our first glimpse at port canaveral and the ship we're going to be on the celebrity apex
06:55after tipping the porter and giving him our bags uh we went inside the cruise port now a lot of
07:02videos that we saw did not say anything about the craziness that went on but we will first off
07:09prepare to wait in lots of lines and also your passport and your driver's license keep that out
07:16because you're going to be showing that multiple times
07:24why thank you oh and obviously keep your boarding pass with you as well
07:33however it is kind of confusing where to go but there's all these people that tell you go that way
07:40go that way go this way so you just go where they tell you to go and eventually you get
07:46on the ship

08:24we're on the ship
08:27muster station yes thank you
08:37remember what the station is c2 on your way to the muster station you get your first glimpse of
08:45what the apex is all about and what it looks like and there are a couple videos you have to
08:49watch ahead
08:50of time so once you get to the muster station they just scan you in and you they tell you
08:57to go to your
08:57room drop off your bags you can't stay there but you can drop your bags off and then leave
09:06and explore the ship but then when they call you your group of rooms that are ready then you get
09:14to go into your room and relax with luann and i not being on a cruise for about 20 years
09:22we were a little nervous and got a little frustrated i guess you can say in finding our room but
09:28we
09:28eventually got there so we are on
09:35this is where we are okay so we go on the starboard side your c passes are kind of in
09:42a little cubby hole
09:44that's next to your room number just take that out that has your c passes in it you just open
09:51up the
09:51door and check out your room and then what you do you take those and that will have our little
10:02c passes in them
10:06they're pretty look at those things cool
10:13oh and it has all right it has a lot of good information on it my name's on it
10:19when we booked the rooms we were in a group and they had rooms in the concierge class
10:27so we get to go off and do the concierge's lunch we'll do a room tour a little bit later
10:34on a
10:35different episode at this special concierge class lunch this is where things really started to break
10:42down we were promised by the place where we booked the cruise that they would definitely have vegan
10:50choices for the lunch however here to turn out on this lunch only the first lunch they pre-plate
10:59everything and you really don't have a choice on too many things you have a chicken you have a beef
11:06and you have a vegetarian dish no vegan dish and they couldn't modify it for this particular meal we were
11:17not happy so with all the stress on getting onto the ship this was the icing on the cake for
11:25the day
11:26hopefully it gets better
11:31to get our mind off the initial disappointment we decided to roam around a little bit on the top deck
11:38and we came across the magic carpet now the magic carpet is usually there throughout the week but
11:47on different levels it actually goes up and down on the side of the boat not when you're on it
11:52but
11:53every day it's on a different level and it's either a bar which is what it was like when we
11:58visited
11:59the first day or in the evening it turns into a specialty dining area we also peeked into the retreat
12:07we couldn't actually go past the doors because that's where all the rich people stay it's kind
12:14of like a ship within a ship i don't like that concept but it is what it is and i'll
12:20talk a little
12:21bit about that later in a future episode
12:34obviously we also had to check out where the pool was we didn't actually have time to go in the
12:39pool
12:39but we checked it out and we had to see the iconic celebrity apex love hands and pro tip since
12:49you're
12:49still at port if you know people are going to be on the cruise that you know this is the
12:55perfect
12:56time to text them which is what we did and we found out our friends rooms so we went over
13:02there to
13:03say hello and we found out hey they got their luggage so we went back to our room and sure
13:09enough our
13:10luggage was there and then later on what they do is they have these suitcases out in the hallway
13:16for you and you just bring them in as we were in our room we realized hey we're moving and
13:24we're
13:25missing the sail away party so we jumped up and we caught our friends and we met them on the
13:33top deck

15:11It did follow us all through our itinerary.
15:16During this party, we actually came across some more of the people who were in our group,
15:22and they wanted to say a little something to one of the stars of our group, which unfortunately
15:28was not able to make it.
15:30And by the way, what they say may sound derogatory or mean, but it is kind of an ongoing internal
15:38joke.
15:39So please don't take offense.
15:43We love you, Skip.
15:44Skip, you suck.
15:46But we wish you were here.
15:49After the sail away party, we decided we're going to go down to our room, take a little
15:54nap, because it was a very stressful day so far.
15:58And luckily, we found a little card that said we have a group dinner, but it was in a different
16:06place that we were originally told.
16:11So that didn't go over very well with us.
16:14However, that's a thing for the group, not really for the ship.
16:18So we went in there and we met the rest of the group that was with us.
16:25Unfortunately, because of the way the group was put together very loosely, that was the
16:30last time that we saw most of the people from that group, except for maybe here and there
16:38sparsely around, but nothing really officially for the group.
16:44So that's kind of what ended the day.
16:47We went back to our room, kind of got ready for the next day since we had no real guidance
16:54yet.
16:55And now you'll see what happens on day two.
