00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe.
00:10Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:17Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips, and fun.
00:24Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:30Those, there we go.
00:36Oh, hello there. Welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world.
00:43I'm just having a little bit of a tidy up while Small's trying to make a boat.
00:48I've got it, Ben. I've made my boat out of lollipop sticks and the sail out of paper.
00:53Brilliant. Shall we see if it sails?
00:55OK.
01:00Oh, it won't float.
01:07Come on, Small. We've got a customer. Maybe that'll take your mind off your boat making.
01:12I'm on my way.
01:14Who's in our cafe today, Small?
01:26Well, I never.
01:28What, Small? Who is it? Give me a clue.
01:31Well, you know I was trying to make a boat, Ben.
01:33Yes?
01:34It's Sam the sailor. He sails a boat.
01:38Oh, goodness me, a sailor.
01:41Oh, I hope he hasn't brought his boat with him. They're really big, aren't they?
01:46Of course not. Where would he park it?
01:49Oh, well, I don't know. He certainly couldn't park it in the cafe. It's too small.
01:53He must be very hungry. What can we cook for Sam the sailor?
01:59I think it's time to look in my book.
02:01We need a story to help us cook.
02:14Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
02:17Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World.
02:20Let me see.
02:21One day, Sam the sailor was sailing back into harbour after a long voyage.
02:29He worked on a big, big ship.
02:31There were lots of sailors on the ship.
02:34Some looked after the engines that turned the propeller and pushed the ship through the water,
02:38and some steered the ship.
02:41Eventually, his boat journey ended.
02:43But he couldn't bear to be away from the sea.
02:47So, he bought himself his own little boat to sail around in.
02:51When he returned to harbour, he couldn't wait to climb aboard.
02:56But Sam the sailor didn't know how to make it go.
02:59He'd only been on big ships with engines.
03:02When he turned the steering wheel, nothing happened.
03:06On board, he found a piece of material rolled up on the deck.
03:10It was getting windy, so he wrapped himself up to keep warm.
03:14Then he had another idea of how to get the boat to sail.
03:17He tied a rope to his waist, jumped in the water,
03:20and pulled the boat along.
03:23But soon he got tired of swimming,
03:25so he got back in the boat and dried himself with the big piece of material.
03:29Then it started to rain.
03:32Never mind.
03:33At least he had his big piece of material to shelter under.
03:35When I saw Sam, I told him straight away what he had been doing wrong.
03:41That big piece of material was a sail.
03:44It didn't take me long to show Sam how to put the sail up.
03:48The wind started blowing and filled the sail.
03:51It was pushing the sailing boat along faster and faster.
03:54Ah, said Sam.
03:59This boat uses wind for power, not engines.
04:03Well, fancy that.
04:05Little cook to the rescue once again.
04:08That was a great adventure.
04:12Well, butter my toast.
04:14For a sailor, he didn't know very much about sailing.
04:18Whey!
04:19He does now, though.
04:21He's always out in his little boat sailing around the bay.
04:25He's probably out there now.
04:27No, Small.
04:28Right now he's in our cafe waiting for something to eat.
04:31Oh, what can we cook for him?
04:33Oh, we can...
04:37I know.
04:43Big Cook's Big Cookery Book.
04:46Of course, the Big Cookery Book.
04:48There's recipes for everything in there.
04:50And where do we look for things to cook?
04:53In the book.
04:53In the book.
04:54In Big Cook's Book.
04:57Look at this, Small.
04:59Of course, just the thing.
05:01Jolly Jelly Boats.
05:02Our sailor will love them.
05:04Come on, Small.
05:05Read out the ingredients and I'll see if we've got them.
05:07OK, let's see.
05:08We're going to need yoghurt.
05:10OK, over we go.
05:11In the fridge.
05:12Here we are.
05:13Yoghurt.
05:14Got it.
05:15An orange.
05:16Oh, right.
05:17Over in the bowl.
05:18Got the orange.
05:20Paper.
05:21In the cupboard.
05:22There we go.
05:23Paper.
05:24Straws.
05:25Got those too.
05:27And jelly.
05:28Oh, lovely wobbly jelly.
05:30Got it.
05:32Here we are.
05:33Over we go.
05:35There.
05:36Everything we need to make jolly jelly boats.
05:39We love jelly, don't we, Ben?
05:41Oh, yes, we do.
05:42Love it.
05:43The funny thing is, I don't really know how it's made.
05:46Oh, neither do I, Small.
05:49Hey, why don't you whiz off and find out and I'll get everything ready.
05:53That's a great idea, Ben.
05:54I'll be back in a jiffy.
05:56Hey, why don't you come along to?
06:02Whey!
06:07Go, Small.
06:08Go, Small.
06:08Whiz away.
06:10I wonder what he'll see today.
06:12There's a train.
06:40Choo-choo.
06:42Choo-choo.
07:03This is a jelly factory.
07:05Wibble-wobble.
07:06Oh, goody.
07:08Looks like they're making blackcurrant jellies today.
07:11My favourite.
07:14Do you know what that is?
07:16Let's take a closer look.
07:17Oh, these are the moulds that the jelly is poured into.
07:23Look, that's the blackcurrant jelly, but it's all runny at the moment.
07:32Wow, this is a big fridge.
07:35The fridge is so cold that it turns the runny stuff into proper jelly.
07:38Ooh, yummy.
07:39Oh, yes, and then all the jellies are packed ready to go to the shops.
07:49This is Stacey.
07:51She's making a jelly.
07:52She's putting the cubes of jelly into a jug.
07:54Now, this looks tricky.
08:00You'll need your grown-up helper to pour in the boiling water.
08:04Fill the jug right up.
08:05You have to stir the jelly and the water until the cubes melt.
08:22They disappear.
08:28This is where you'll need your grown-up helper again
08:30to pour the hot, runny jelly into the mould.
08:32And then you pop it in the cold fridge to set.
08:39There's the finished jelly.
08:41Wobble, wobble, wobble.
08:42Ooh, ooh, ooh.
08:45Oh, look.
08:46They're having a jelly party with all the different coloured jellies.
08:58Ooh, that looks like fun.
08:59Which is your favourite colour, jelly?
09:04I'd better get back.
09:05Bye.
09:06Wahey!
09:15That was great.
09:17Wibble, wobble, wobble, wobble.
09:20I saw all the jelly being put into moulds.
09:23It was brilliant.
09:25And when the jelly was set, it came out going...
09:28Jelly on a plate.
09:30Wibble, wobble, wobble, wobble, jelly on a plate.
09:34How's it going, Ben?
09:36Everything's ready, little cook.
09:38Let's get cooking.
09:39We're all ready, so take a look.
09:41And we will show you how to cook.
09:43Jelly boats and pirates go, princess pea pies.
09:51Parrot cakes and fruity smiles.
09:53And envelopes surprise.
09:55We love our cafe and we love to cook.
09:58We have a fantastic recipe book.
10:02He is big cook and he is small.
10:08Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all.
10:12When your tummy gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat.
10:18You can make something delicious to eat.
10:21Have you cleaned the surfaces?
10:29Yes.
10:30Have you washed your hands?
10:31Yes.
10:32All clean and ready to cook.
10:36Do you remember the ingredients to Jolly Jelly boats?
10:38You do.
10:39There was yoghurt, one cup, an orange, one.
10:44Jelly, half a packet.
10:46Water, 500 millilitres.
10:48Straws, two.
10:50And paper.
10:51Two pieces.
10:53Whoopee, let's get started.
10:56Now, small, I've already started to make something with these pieces of paper.
11:00They're going to be the sails for our Jolly Jelly boats.
11:03I'm just cutting out the last one now.
11:06The sails?
11:07They look like the sails I was trying to make for my boat.
11:10And the sails in the story.
11:12We're going to use them in the recipe, small.
11:14We can't hang around, not when we've got a hungry customer waiting.
11:17Of course.
11:18What shall I do?
11:19Er, could you draw a nice picture on these two for me, small?
11:22I certainly can.
11:26Now my little friend's busy, we can get on with making our Jolly Jelly boats.
11:30First of all, we need some orange juice.
11:33Now, I've already cut the orange in half.
11:36That's a job for grown-up helpers to do.
11:38And I'm going to squeeze the orange on here to get out all the juice.
11:43There we go.
11:45Nice and hard.
11:47Round and round it goes.
11:49And abracadabra.
11:53Off it goes.
11:56There's the orange juice.
12:00Smashing.
12:02We don't throw these oranges away, though.
12:04These are going to be our boats.
12:06I'm just scrubbing the deck of my boat.
12:10It's a bit rough out there today.
12:14Now it's time for the jelly.
12:16So, I'm going to put the jelly cubes into this jug.
12:20There we go.
12:21Oh, lovely wobbly jelly.
12:23There we are.
12:24And to that, I'm going to add some very hot water.
12:27And make sure you get your grown-up helper to do this bit for you,
12:29because the water is hot, hot, hot.
12:32In it goes.
12:35500 millilitres.
12:38There.
12:39And now let's give it a good stir.
12:42Until all the jelly has melted.
12:45That means there's no lumps or bumps in it.
12:49And I'm going to keep stirring until it's all dissolved.
12:54Oh, yes.
12:56These are going to make great sales.
12:59So, now we balance our oranges on top of two cups.
13:04There they are.
13:07And our jelly's ready now.
13:09It's all dissolved and has cooled down a little.
13:12So, let's pour it in.
13:16Here's one.
13:18Up to the top.
13:20And the other one.
13:22Nice and slowly.
13:24And remember, this is another job for grown-up helpers to do.
13:27And all we do now is wait.
13:30You've forgotten something, haven't you?
13:32Wibble-wobble, wibble-wobble.
13:34I don't think so.
13:36Yes, you have.
13:38What?
13:40Fridge.
13:42Oh, fridge, of course.
13:45They need to go in the fridge for two hours.
13:47Oh, silly me.
13:49Come on.
13:49Let's take them over.
13:52There we are.
13:53And in the fridge they go.
13:56Two hours.
13:57There.
14:00All done.
14:01All done.
14:03Right.
14:04That's the jelly boats on their way.
14:06Now we need something for them to float on.
14:08Yes, we do, Small.
14:09So, I'm going to pour the yoghurt into the bowl with the orange juice.
14:13In it goes.
14:14Oh, lovely and creamy.
14:17And you can add a few drops of food colouring to make the sea go all blue.
14:21Very carefully.
14:23Just one little drop.
14:25There we go.
14:26And mix it round.
14:29Round and round we go.
14:30Oh, round and round.
14:32Look at that.
14:32Lovely blue sea.
14:35A little bit more of a mix-up.
14:38Very nice.
14:39And that's everything.
14:42So now, all we need to do is pour it onto a plate.
14:46Nice and slowly.
14:49Round it goes.
14:53Very good.
14:55A little bit more.
14:58And there we have a lovely yoghurt sea for our jelly boats to sail on.
15:06Hey, what are you doing, Small?
15:08Oh, I thought I'd go for a paddle, Ben.
15:13In yoghurt?
15:14Oh, I don't think you'd like that much, Small.
15:17Besides, it's for our boats.
15:19Oh.
15:24There we are.
15:26Very good.
15:30There we go.
15:32Lovely wibble-wobble-wibble-wobble jelly boats.
15:35How are those sails coming along, Small?
15:41Nearly done.
15:44Come on, Small.
15:45Pass it up.
15:46There you go, Ben.
15:48Oh, thanks, Small.
15:49That looks great.
15:51And I've just put a straw through this sail.
15:53So, I'm just going to quickly take a little bit off the bottom with a pair of scissors to make it that little bit shorter.
16:01There we go.
16:03Sails are ready.
16:03And I've also just cut our orange jellies in half.
16:08This will make our brilliant Jolly Jelly Boats.
16:12In go the sails.
16:14One there.
16:16And one there.
16:18Oh, this looks scrummy.
16:20And all we have to do now is pop them onto our lovely blue yoghurt sea.
16:27Hooray!
16:28A meal fit for a sailor.
16:30We'd better pop it through quick, Ben.
16:32Sam the sailor will be getting very hungry.
16:37Jolly Jelly Boats coming through.
16:40There we go.
16:43There we are.
16:45All done.
16:48So, what do we do now?
16:49Can we play?
16:51Not yet.
16:52Time to clean and put away.
16:53Hooray!
16:54Hooray!
17:00Wash, wipe, scrub and clean.
17:04Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam.
17:10My name's Ben.
17:11And my name's Paul.
17:13We've got the cleanest kitchen of all.
17:17Tidy all the bits and pops.
17:19The things that help us do our job.
17:21Ingredients we'll put away.
17:23Ready for use another day.
17:25Pots and pans will start to smell.
17:26If we don't wash them really well.
17:28And now it's clear.
17:29Let's all smile.
17:30We'll be finished in a little while.
17:32All around.
17:34Up and down.
17:35We've got the cleanest cafe in town.
17:45Aha!
17:46Here comes the plate.
17:48Hey!
17:50Sam the sailor certainly keeps his plate ship shape.
17:53And look small.
17:54There's a note.
17:55What does it say?
17:56What does it say?
17:57Let's see, shall we?
18:00It says,

18:07I enjoyed my Jolly Jelly boat so much
18:09that I thought that you would enjoy this.

18:15Hoo-hoo!
18:16There you go, small.
18:18Thanks, Ben.
18:19At last, a boat!
18:21But will it float?
