Catholic Mass Today I Daily Holy Mass I Thursday January 1 2026 I English Holy Mass
Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you, and Happy New Year, as we start the year together in faith, hope, and love.
00:25Today, the Church puts before us Mary, the Mother of God, as a model of faith and trust. It is the feast of the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.
00:36So we bring all who is in our life, all that's in our life, into the celebration. First of all, we acknowledge our sins, more importantly, the mercy, the compassion, and the love of God.
00:46Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
01:00Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of goodwill. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you.
01:10We give you thanks for your great glory. Lord God, Heavenly King, O God Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
01:19Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
01:27You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
01:36For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
01:47Let us pray.
01:49O God, who through the fruitful virginity of Blessed Mary, bestowed on the human race the grace of eternal salvation,
02:00grant, we pray, that we may experience the intercession of her, for whom we were found worthy to receive the author of life,
02:08our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
02:19A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians.
02:25I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to lead a life worthy of your vocation.
02:32Bear with one another charitably in complete selflessness, gentleness and patience.
02:39Do all you can to preserve the unity of the Spirit by the peace that binds you together.
02:45There is one body, one Spirit, just as you were all called into one and the same hope when you were called.
02:54There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God, who is Father of all, over all, through all and within all.
03:04Each one of us, however, has been given his own share of grace, given as Christ allotted it.
03:13To some, his gift was that they should be apostles, to some prophets, to some evangelists, to some pastors and teachers,
03:24so that the saints together make a unity in the work of service, building up the body of Christ.
03:31In this way, we are all to come to unity in our faith and in our knowledge of the Son of God,
03:39until we become the perfect person, fully mature and with the fullness of Christ himself.
03:48The word of the Lord.
03:50Thanks be to God.
03:52The Lord is my shepherd.
03:54There is nothing I shall want.
03:56The Lord is my shepherd.
03:58There is nothing I shall want.
03:59The Lord is my shepherd.
04:02There is nothing I shall want.
04:04Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose.
04:08Yet, restful waters, he leads me to revive my drooping spirit.
04:12The Lord is my shepherd.
04:14There is nothing I shall want.
04:16He guides me along the right path.
04:18He is true to his name.
04:20If I should walk in the valley of darkness, no evil would I fear.
04:24You are there with your crook and your staff.
04:26With these, you give me comfort.
04:28The Lord is my shepherd.
04:30There is nothing I shall want.
04:32You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes.
04:36My head you have anointed with oil.
04:39My cup is overflowing.
04:42The Lord is my shepherd.
04:43There is nothing I shall want.
04:46Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life.
04:50In the Lord's own house shall I dwell forever and ever.
04:53The Lord is my shepherd.
04:56There is nothing I shall want.
05:01And there is a second reading from Galatians.
05:05God sent his son born of a woman.
05:10When the appointed time came, God sent his son born of a woman, born a subject of the law,
05:16to redeem the subjects of the law and to enable us to be adopted as sons and daughters.
05:21The proof that you are children of God is that God sent the spirit of his son unto our hearts,
05:29the spirit that cries, Abba, Father.
05:32And it is that which makes you a son or daughter.
05:35You are not a slave anymore.
05:38And if God has made you son or daughter, then he has made you heir.
05:43The word of the Lord.
05:45Thanks be to God.
05:47Alleluia, alleluia.
05:50You have one Father, your Father in heaven.
05:54You have one teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ.
05:57Alleluia.
05:58Alleluia.
05:58Alleluia.
06:05The Lord be with you.
06:11A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
06:14Glory to you, the Lord.
06:17The shepherds hurried away to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph and the baby lying in the manger.
06:24When they saw the child, they repeated what they had been told about him.
06:29And everyone who heard it was astonished at what the shepherds had to say.
06:35As for Mary, she treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart.
06:41And the shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen.
06:47It was exactly as they had been told.
06:51When the eighth day came and the child was to be circumcised, they gave him the name Jesus,
06:57the name the angel had given him before his conception.
07:01The gospel of the Lord.
07:06Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
07:08We face the future with great hope.
07:15There's a beautiful prayer of abandonment.
07:18I do not know where I'm going.
07:20I don't know what lies before me.
07:23It doesn't matter as long as I'm lost in the heart of my creator.
07:28A creator, our loving God, knows our needs, knows what lies ahead.
07:34We don't.
07:35So we trust in the great love and direction and mercy of God,
07:40who will lead us into the fullness of hope and life.
07:43As we face challenges, which we will,
07:47we continue holding on to that belief and faith and trust
07:50that God is with us.
07:52God is with us in every circumstance.
07:59And because of that, we live in hope.
08:02Jesus told us, do not worry.
08:03Do not worry about tomorrow.
08:05Live day by day.
08:07So we hold on to that in trust.
08:09Let's profess the creed together on this solemnity.
08:27I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
08:30creator of heaven and earth,
08:31and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
08:34who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
08:36born of the Virgin Mary,
08:38suffered under Pontius Pilate,
08:40was crucified, died, and was buried.
08:43He descended into hell.
08:45On the third day, he rose again from the dead.
08:47He ascended into heaven
08:49and is seated at the right hand of God,
08:52the Father Almighty.
08:53From there, he will come to judge the living and the dead.
08:57I believe in the Holy Spirit,
08:58the Holy Catholic Church,
09:00the communion of saints,
09:02the forgiveness of sins,
09:03the resurrection of the body,
09:05and life everlasting.
09:07Amen.
09:08And we praise the needs of the world,
09:12our own needs,
09:13and all who is in our heart
09:14into the hands of our God.
09:21Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
09:23for to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
09:26which earth has given human hands and made.
09:29It will become for us the bread of life.
09:32Blessed be God forever.
09:33Amen.
09:33Amen.
09:33Amen.
09:33Amen.
09:38Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
09:54for to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
09:57Fruit of divine work of human hands,
09:59it will become our spiritual drink.
10:01Blessed be God forever.
10:13Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
10:15that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable
10:18to God our Almighty Father.
10:20May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands
10:23to the praise and glory of God's name
10:25for our good and the good of God's holy church.
10:28O God, who in your kindness begin all good things
10:40and bring them to fulfillment,
10:42grant to us, who find joy in the solemnity
10:44of the Holy Mother of God,
10:46that just as we glory in the beginnings of your grace,
10:49so one day we may rejoice in its completion.
10:52Through Christ our Lord.
10:54Amen.
10:54The Lord be with you.
10:57Lift up your hearts.
10:59Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
11:02It is truly right and just,
11:04our duty and our salvation,
11:06always and everywhere,
11:07to give you thanks,
11:09Lord, Holy Father,
11:10Almighty and Eternal God.
11:12For in the mystery of the world made flesh,
11:14a new light of your glory
11:16has shown upon the eyes of our mind,
11:18so that as we recognize in him God made visible,
11:21we may be caught up through him
11:23in the love of things invisible.
11:26And so with angels and archangels,
11:28with thrones and dominions,
11:30and with all the hosts and powers of heaven,
11:32we sing the hymn of your glory
11:34as without end we acclaim.
11:36Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts,
11:40heaven and earth are full of your glory.
11:42Hosanna in the highest.
11:44Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
11:48Hosanna in the highest.
11:49You are indeed holy, O Lord,
11:56the fount of all holiness.
11:58Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
12:00by sending down your Spirit upon them
12:02like the dewfall,
12:04so that they may become for us
12:05the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
12:09At the time he was betrayed
12:10and entered willingly into his passion,
12:13he took bread,
12:15and giving thanks, broke it,
12:17and gave it to his disciples,
12:18saying,
12:19Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
12:21for this is my body,
12:23which will be given up for you.
12:25In a similar way,
12:32when supper was ended,
12:33he took the chalice,
12:34and once more giving thanks,
12:36he gave it to his disciples,
12:39saying,
12:40Take this, all of you,
12:41and drink from it,
12:42for this is the chalice of my blood,
12:45the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
12:48of the new and eternal covenant,
12:50which will be pulled out for you,
12:52and for many,
12:54for the forgiveness of sins.
12:56Do this in memory of me.
12:58The mystery of faith.
13:07We proclaim your death, O Lord,
13:09and profess your resurrection
13:11until you come again.
13:13Therefore,
13:16as we celebrate the memorial
13:17of his death and resurrection,
13:19we offer you, Lord,
13:20the bread of life
13:21and the chalice of salvation,
13:24giving thanks
13:24that you have held us worthy
13:26to be in your presence
13:27and minister to you.
13:29Humbly we pray
13:30that partaking of the body
13:32and blood of Christ,
13:33we may be gathered into one
13:35by the Holy Spirit.
13:37Remember, Lord,
13:38your church spread throughout the world
13:40and bring her to the fullness of charity,
13:42together with Cleo, our Pope,
13:45me, your unworthy servant,
13:47and all the clergy.
13:49Remember also our brothers and sisters
13:51who have fallen asleep
13:53in the hope of the resurrection,
13:55and all who have died in your mercy.
13:58Welcome them into the light of your face.
14:01Have mercy on us all, we pray,
14:03that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
14:05Mother of God,
14:06Blessed Joseph, her spouse,
14:08with the blessed apostles
14:09and all the saints
14:10who have pleased you
14:11throughout the ages,
14:13we may, through your grace's merit,
14:16to be coerced to eternal life
14:18and may praise and glorify you
14:20through your Son, Jesus Christ.
14:26Through him and with him
14:27and in him,
14:28O God, Almighty Father,
14:29in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
14:32all glory and honor is yours
14:33forever and ever.
14:35Amen.
14:36Now let us pray that prayer
14:39that Jesus taught us.
14:41Our Father, who art in heaven,
14:43hallowed be thy name.
14:45Thy kingdom come.
14:47Thy will be done on earth
14:48as it is in heaven.
14:50Give us this day
14:51our daily bread
14:52and forgive us our trespasses
14:55as we forgive those
14:56who trespass against us.
14:58And lead us not into temptation,
15:00but deliver us from evil.
15:03Deliver us, Lord,
15:04we pray,
15:04from every evil.
15:06Graciously grant peace
15:07in our days
15:08that by the help
15:09of your mercy
15:10we may be always free
15:11from sin
15:12and safe from all distress
15:13as we await the blessed hope
15:15and the coming
15:16of our Savior,
15:17Jesus Christ.
15:18For the kingdom,
15:19the power,
15:20and the glory
15:21are yours
15:22now and forever.
15:24Lord Jesus Christ,
15:25we said to your apostles,
15:26my peace I give you,
15:28my own peace I give you,
15:30look not on our sins
15:31but on the faith
15:32of your church
15:33and graciously grant her
15:34peace and unity
15:35in accordance with your will

16:53as if you were already there
