00:00Let's take a look now at the Georgia team, 12-1 overall coach.
00:05They did win this game against Ole Miss earlier in the year,
00:08but from a defensive perspective,
00:11they were abused by Ole Miss in the first half of that matchup.
00:15They trailed 21-16.
00:18They allowed Trinidad, Chambliss, and that offense to score
00:21on the first five possessions,
00:23but they made second-half adjustments,
00:25and second time around a benefit to Kirby Smart
00:29and the Bulldogs entering this matchup.
00:32Well, that's the thing that we're going to see probably in the upcoming game,
00:36and that's going to be a huge factor.
00:38They're going to face an offense that's personal,
00:40can run and throw the football,
00:42and the Georgia defense has not been as dominant
00:45in attacking the quarterback, in sacking the quarterback.
00:48They're not nearly like they have been in their championship teams,
00:50so they've got to run that football,
00:53and their offense has got to do as well
00:55because the one team of the SEC teams that are remaining
00:59that is balanced, and this goes to the favor of the quarterback,
01:02it helps the quarterback, is Ole Miss
01:04because they can run and throw the football,
01:06which means he's not forced into bad situations.
01:09Ty Simpson in Alabama, he may have to throw it a lot more.
01:12He may get more numbers, but it's because they don't run the ball,
01:15and Georgia, if they're playing well,
01:17the quarterback just needs to manage the offense,
01:19get what they give you because they're going to run that football.
01:22If they're in control, they're going to run that football.
01:25Let's take a look at Georgia's quarterback, Gunnar Stockton,
01:29has had a very solid season, 23 touchdowns, only five interceptions,
01:34but he can also run the football in the RPO game.
01:37Talk to me about his potential skill set going up against the worst rush defense
01:42in the playoff in Ole Miss, allowing 147 rushing yards per game.
01:47Well, I mean, he'll just do it, get the ball to the right person.
01:53His job will be to make sure they run the football or RPOs when they overplay the run
01:58and let their offense just take care of itself.
02:01I do think the reason he has had such a good season,
02:03and he doesn't put out large, incredible yardage numbers.
02:08He just plays good solid football, 70% passing completions,
02:11very few interceptions in the games, and he manages that offensive well.
02:15So, again, what he needs to do is make sure, and he runs the ball well when he needs to run.
02:20He's not a dynamic cut and move back and forth and shifty.
02:24He's not a shifty runner.
02:25He's just a smart runner.
02:27And so he really plays the Georgia defense, Georgia's offense,
02:31like we've seen the quarterbacks that are successful in Georgia.
02:34He's their type of quarterback.
02:35He is.
02:36He's averaged 3.8 yards per carry, but he has 442 rushing yards.
02:42That's third best on the Bulldogs in eight rushing touchdowns.
02:46We've seen him break and tame in the RPO game, and, again,
02:49if he could put pressure on Ole Miss' defense on the perimeter,
02:53that could open up potentially the rushing attack for Nate Frazier and Bowens
02:58that love to run it between the tackles.
03:00The one thing for me, too, Coach, that I've seen about Georgia
03:03in terms of how they've been progressing week to week
03:07has been the physicality of the offensive line.
03:10From the start of the year to now, they are probably, I believe,
03:13one of the best rush offenses entering this playoff,
03:17and they're going to challenge this Ole Miss defense between the tackles.
03:21But Gunnar Stockton could be that X factor.
03:23And, again, a valuable veteran that played in this college football playoff
03:28last year losing to Notre Dame.
03:31Yeah, and the fact that they don't get behind like they did earlier this season.
03:34When you get behind like they did early on, it was always catch-up, throw, throw,
03:39throw, catch-up, catch-up.
03:40And, yes, they won all but one of their football games.
03:43It was always having to catch up with the other team.
03:45But they play strong defense.
03:47They don't fall behind.
03:49They've got to be a better football team.
03:51And that plays right into Gunnar Stockton's hands and the Bulldog offense
03:55because it allows you to run the football and take what they give you.
03:59It doesn't force you into predictable passing situations.
