00:00And the decision by the Miami Dolphins to go to Quinn Ewers, I think we all know, it's less about, hey, we think Quinn Ewers is going to go on a heater and turn this franchise around, and more, they are done with Tua Tunga-Vailoa.
00:13What additional insight can you offer us on this situation?
00:17Yeah, the first thing is that their frustration is what I've heard with Tua, because you see it in spurts when he plays well, but he has trouble, Kevin, sustaining success.
00:28Sure, Tyreek Hill was lost due to a severe knee injury, probably won't play for them again.
00:34But the bottom line is, when you look at Tua, he's never quite played as well as they would have hoped.
00:39He has been to the playoffs.
00:41Brian Flores, his former head coach, is not a Tua fan, won at Herbert, didn't get him, and it didn't go well for Flores.
00:49And as you know, he was fired, but done a great job as a Vikings defense coordinator.
00:52But Tua's future, and a $54 million, which they're locked into next season, will be somewhere else.
00:57Now, Kevin, you and I talked about this on Game Time Decisions Friday, just to add a little bit to this.
01:03I had people around the league telling me, oh, yeah, we would be interested in him, but for backup money.
01:09Or kind of like Daniel Jones, where you had $14 million with some upside.
01:14I think you nailed it on Friday.
01:16Not only would no one trade for that contract, and to move this along further, you have to understand who he is.
01:22He's a timing-based quarterback.
01:24He was a good fit for Mike McDaniel's offensive scheme, which is old-school West Coast offense.
01:29He's got to make quick decisions.
01:30When Tua makes quick decisions, Kevin, he looks like an upper half of the NFL quarterbacks.
01:36When he doesn't, he gets hit.
01:37Major injury history, by the way.
01:39Concussions are a concern.
01:40And he's a smaller-frame quarterback.
01:42So they're another team in quarterback purgatory.
01:44They don't know what their future is, and we could talk about that in a minute, what the 26 group looks like in terms of openings.
01:50But the Dolphins are another team that doesn't know what's going to happen at quarterback in 26.
01:55But you mentioned that they are, you know, they're not alone in that.
02:01I don't know if you want to go through the full list or maybe one or two teams that really stand out to you from your list of teams who have quarterback questions going into the offseason.
02:10Oh, yeah.
02:11We could give you the cliff notes first.
02:12And so the Jets don't know who the quarterback was going to be.
02:14Fields is owed $10 million fully guaranteed of all the cash next season.
02:18He obviously would not be back as a starter if he's back at all.

02:22They're not coming back with Kyler Murray.
02:24It's not going to happen.
02:26Unfortunately, he's got the midfoot sprain.
02:28And it hasn't worked out like they had hoped with Kyler Murray.
02:30This was not the guy that they drafted.
02:32Steve Kahn, the former general manager, drafted him.
02:34Dolphins, we just talked about.
02:36Browns don't know who their starter is, obviously.
02:37Watson, they keep restructured his contract.
02:40They keep telling people he's going to be on the roster.
02:43Well, for cap purposes, it would make sense.
02:46But they don't know who their starter is.
02:47The Colts, because of Daniel Jones injury, and he was on a one-year deal.
02:50They don't know who their starter is.
02:52And the Steelers, Aaron Rodgers is up.
02:53Everything I've been told is.
02:55I'd like to have Aaron back.
02:56But, Kevin, again, when are they going to start developing that next guy in Pittsburgh?
03:02Because when you're talking about a 42-year-old quarterback who's been broken down physically,
03:07I know Rodgers has done a nice job considering his age.
03:09But they have not figured out since Ben Rothberger's retired, and that's on their front office.
03:15Not just this one, but Kevin Colbert, the former GM who did draft Kenny Pickett.
