Collapsed During Wudu: Mosque Committee Member’s Sudden Death Caught on CCTV in MP

A senior member of the Jama Masjid committee died suddenly while performing ablution at the mosque in Hariganj area of Khandwa district in Madhya Pradesh. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, was captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the mosque.

The deceased was identified as Haji Sheikh Alim Thekedar (56), who had been associated with the Khandwa Jama Masjid committee for the past 20 years. He had come to the mosque to offer Isha prayers and was seen in the CCTV footage walking normally towards the Wudu Khana.

According to reports, he sat there waiting for the Adhan to end when he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed. Eyewitnesses said he began gasping for breath within moments, and people present rushed to his help.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Doctors have initially suspected a heart attack as the cause of death, though official confirmation is awaited.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the mosque premises and the locality. His funeral was held on Friday at the main cemetery, where a large number of people gathered to pay their last respects. Members of the mosque committee and local residents remembered him as a kind-hearted and devout person.

The CCTV footage of the incident has since surfaced on social media and drawn widespread attention.
