Rajanna Siricilla (Telangana): An Anganwadi teacher has been booked after a child allegedly suffered grievous injuries, including loss of vision in one eye, following a severe beating at an Anganwadi centre in Venkataapur village of Ellareddipet mandal.

The child, identified as Vidvansh, is the son of Kompelli Lakshmi and Vijay Kumar. The couple had left him at the local Anganwadi centre while they went to work.

According to the family, Anganwadi teacher Rani later called them, stating that the child had developed a fever and asked them to take him home. However, when the parents rushed to the centre, they found serious injuries on the child’s eye and hands.

The boy was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. Doctors reportedly confirmed severe damage to one eye.

Based on a complaint lodged by the child’s father, police have registered a case against the Anganwadi teacher and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Authorities are examining the circumstances under which the injuries occurred.
