Mau (Uttar Pradesh): A 1 minute 45 second video from the railway parcel office in Mau, dated February 10, has surfaced on social media showing a heated altercation between the Railway Parcel Superintendent and an RPF jawan.

In the viral video, a man identified as Rajesh Singh, Parcel Superintendent of Mau, is seen publicly threatening and verbally abusing an RPF constable. Wearing glasses, Singh loudly declares his name and position and, in Bhojpuri, threatens to gouge out the jawan’s eyes. “It will take two minutes to gouge out the eyes. Don’t you know who you’re talking to? Your parcel will go before the parcel,” he is heard saying. He is also seen using abusive language.

The RPF constable has been identified as Amit Kumar Yadav, currently posted in Chhattisgarh and originally from Mau. According to reports, around 4:30 pm on Tuesday, he visited the railway parcel office to book a parcel. The parcel was reportedly open, and Superintendent Rajesh Singh asked him to pack it properly before booking. However, Amit allegedly insisted on sending it unpacked.

During the exchange, Amit stated that he was in the RPF and would handle any issues related to the open parcel. In response, Rajesh Singh reportedly said he had served 15 years in the RPF before being transferred to the parcel department and asked him not to “explain” the rules. The argument escalated, and Singh allegedly began shouting, threatening and attempting to assault the jawan, while the latter repeatedly asked him to speak properly.

GRP officials stated that upon noticing the commotion, officers reached the spot and called both parties to the office. After hearing both sides, a compromise was reportedly reached with the intervention of higher authorities. Despite the settlement, the RPF jawan shared the video on social media later that night, following which it went viral.

The incident has triggered debate online, with some users linking it to a recent controversy in Kanpur involving an HDFC Bank employee who was accused of threatening and abusing a customer.
