00:00On today's Media Miss Minute, thousands of U.S. troops were pushed out of the military for refusing a COVID vaccine.
00:07Now the Trump administration is moving to review those discharges and possibly restore their honor.
00:13Plus, the Federal Communications Commission may not be as independent as many believed, after a stunning admission from its chair.
00:20I'm Craig DeGrowley, and this is Media Miss Minute, where we spotlight the stories falling through the cracks of partisan coverage.
00:30Here's what you're not hearing much about from the left.
00:33The Pentagon has ordered a review of more than 8,700 troops discharged for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine during the Biden administration.
00:41Each branch of the military now has one year to re-examine those cases, with the option to upgrade discharges from general to honorable,
00:50potentially restoring benefits such as health care and access to the GI Bill.
00:55Now to what's being missed on the right.
00:58The FCC has removed the word independent from its website description.
01:02The change came after Chairman Brendan Carr told lawmakers during a Senate hearing that the agency is not independent from the Trump administration.
01:10When pressed by Democrats about the FCC's ability to police major media companies without White House influence,
01:17Carr said Congress never guaranteed that protection, pointing to the Communications Act and the lack of for-cause removal language.
