Could the coaching duo of Vrabel and McDaniels be 1-and-done?! Some think Vrabel's comment was a shot at McDaniels. Some don't. What do you believe? =
Transcript
00:00that Vrabel's ego is going to cause him to get rid of McDaniels
00:03at the end of the season.
00:04What are we doing?
00:07What are we doing?
00:08Well, I mean, it's coming from this show.
00:10It's a question that he answered, and he said that he was being cute,
00:13and that took Burt Breer yesterday.
00:15No, no, no, no.
00:16It's how you bought – I guess it's how you heard.
00:20What are we supposed to do, throw 13-yard double passes all game?
00:24That's what I took it as.
00:25You know what I mean?
00:26I didn't hear – when Mike Vrabel said that on this show Monday,
00:30I did not take that as a shot at Josh McDaniels in the least.
00:34No, I didn't either.
00:36I think somebody pushed it.
00:38Oh, did you hear Vrabel take a shot?
00:41Everybody was seeing blue dress until somebody said,
00:44no, wait a second, you don't see yellow.
00:45And then we're like – some people are like, oh, I do.
00:48It was one of those things like a – you know, like I think, Curtis,
00:52you asked him about play calling or something like that.
00:55The offense was pretty good in the first half.
00:57Yeah, and then he was like, well,
00:59we tried a bunch of different things, and then you maybe asked about the –
01:03you mentioned the double pass, and he's like,
01:04what are we supposed to do, throw 13-yard double passes all game?
01:08Meaning like we can't run trick plays all game.
01:11We got to be able to run our offense and execute at a high level,
01:14and I don't know whoever took it as, oh, that's a shot at Vrabel.
01:18Yeah, I think it was Tom Curran that kind of put some kerosene on it
01:21when he was on with Jones and Keefe Tuesday,
01:22and then he and Phil Perry did the whatever – the Patriots podcast together about it.
01:27Yeah, I mean –
01:27But then he walked it back, Tommy Curran a bit.
01:30Tommy Curran walked it back a bit, saying after talking with Mike Vrabel,
01:33he understood a little bit more about what he meant when he said the cute thing,
01:38and that it didn't seem like it had anything to do against Josh McDaniel.
01:41No, I just don't get it.
01:43Like, we get – around here, we finally get a nice thing,
01:49and then we spend hours trying to figure out what's wrong with it.
01:53That's why we're massholes.
01:55Welcome to Massachusetts.
01:56How long have you lived here for?
01:58I mean, I guess it's a masshole thing.
01:59It's always been that way, especially for, you know, sports fans around here.
02:05It's like, you know, they always got to look for, obviously, the negative.
02:08I didn't take that that way.
02:09The negative to me was you as a coaching staff
02:12and as a football team taking your foot off the gas in the second half.
02:16Yeah.
02:16I mean, they clearly have struggled of late offensively in the second half.
02:21They also have had a clear issue on the defensive side of the football
02:26when it comes to preventing teams from scoring once they get in the red zone.
02:31They're great at keeping them out of the red zone.
02:33But once they get in there, they tend to put up seven.
02:37So I just – it's interesting to me.
02:42The exact quote was from a guy named Jarrett Stillman on Tennessee Radio,
02:46and he said, quote,
02:47I know Vrabelese and I know Mike Vrabel.
02:50I assume that Mike Vrabel is just itching to get Josh McDaniels out of there
02:53so he can hire one of his loser buddies like Todd Downing, who's Wiggy's coach.
02:57Yeah, leave Todd alone.
02:58Or Tim Kelly.
02:59I can feel it.
03:00I can feel it.
03:00I can feel it.
