00:00Melaka Police Chief Zulkare Mokhtar has dared critics to sue him over his statement

00:05that the partner of one of the three men shot dead by state police in Durian Tunggal on November 24th

00:12has a criminal record.

00:14He said police would not issue a media statement without the backing of facts and information

00:19and anyone who feels he was inaccurate or interfering with the investigation could take legal action.

00:25On December 13th, lawyer Rajesh Nagarajan, representing the families of the three men,

00:31said the woman's marital status or criminal record is irrelevant

00:34after Zulkairi said a woman had falsely claimed that one of the men was her husband.

00:40Zulkairi said the woman who recorded an audio clip of the incident had lived with the man for three years

00:46and had a record of 10 cases related to criminal offences since 2012.

00:50Yesterday, the star reported Rajesh denying the woman had a police record,

00:56saying she had given statements for several investigations but was not convicted.

01:01However, Zulkairi stood by his statement, saying all arrests are recorded

01:05even if they do not lead to charges in court.
