00:00I also want to talk to you about Abdul Carter because there was talk this week.
00:03Okay. So you're ready. You're ready to talk about Abdul Carter.
00:06There was talk this week about him having his best week of practice.
00:09And look, Adriana, when I hear that, sometimes I'm just like, okay,
00:14everybody says this,
00:15this is like at the start of the season when everybody's in the best shape
00:17they've ever been in before. Right. So, so we know that.
00:20I think when we look at Abdul Carter, I think most of us, you know,
00:24media content creators will say, Hey,
00:25it's fair to say he had at the least a rough rookie season with everything
00:31that's gone on around him. But today, seven tackles, five solo.
00:37He also had a sack. Three of those tackles were for loss.
00:40He got the QB hit and recovered a fumble.
00:43Would you say this was his best game in a giant uniform?
00:47And then I guess also seeing this after this best week of practice,
00:51are you encouraged by what he can bring to this giant's defense going forward?
00:56Yes. You know,
00:57I have made jokes about when Dable would come on after the post games,
01:01after they lose in all of these different ways.
01:03And I would just be like, we all know what Dable's going to say.
01:06They had a great week of practice.
01:07So whenever I hear stuff like that, it's in one ear and out the other,
01:10because all I,
01:11all I think to myself is what on earth were you doing in practice that led you
01:14to lose these games the way that you've lost them.
01:17But you know,
01:18I've been at Abdul Carter defender when the giants drafted him.
01:21I loved him coming out of Penn state could not wait to see him in a
01:24giant's uniform.
01:25And I have been defending him week after week.
01:28When I hear giants fans say he's a bus because he doesn't have the sacks,
01:31blah, blah, blah.
01:31And, and you look at the stats and I don't,
01:34I don't like to say that the stats are the most important thing,
01:37but the stats back up the fact that he is having a good season.
01:42He is a big reason as to why Brian Burns has as many sacks as he has,
01:46because Abdul Carter is number one in the NFL at pressure rate.
01:51He has, he, or pressure time.
01:54He's getting there faster than Nick Benito.
01:56He's getting faster there than Chris Jones.
01:58So he needs some help closing whatever.
02:01But today was a day where I was like, this,
02:04this is the Abdul Carter that we've all been waiting for.
02:07The impact player,
02:07the Micah Parsons type player that we all,
02:09all thought we were going to see, you know,
02:11for the 15 weeks prior or whatever,
02:1414 weeks prior to this week that we haven't really seen.
02:17And, you know, the frustrating thing for me has been,
02:20you know, I know these guys are young.
02:24I know they're in a bad situation.
02:26You know, it's been a rough year for the giants,
02:28the defense, especially, but the second cave on get in,
02:32got injured.
02:32I said, this is an opportunity for Abdul Carter.
02:35You know,
02:35I know you're not getting the starting snaps every week.
02:37It's very obvious.
02:38This defensive scheme does not have a good plan for Abdul Carter.
02:42You hear guys like Carl Banks talk about it week in and week out.
02:45And when you don't have a plan like that for a player like that,
02:48it was drafted three overall.
02:49He can't make as much of an impact as you would like.
02:52So I'm really happy with the way that he played today.
02:55I think as a giants fan,
02:56you look at a game like that and you say, you know,
02:58if we don't keep Brian cave on Thibodeau past the fifth year option or
03:02whatever,
03:03you got to be optimistic going into next year and saying with one good week of
03:07practice and one week where he is watching more film,
03:12he's in the building more,
03:13he apologized to his teammates and took accountability.
03:16Look,
03:16these guys are young and sometimes they have to learn the hard way.
03:19And unfortunately it took him twice,
03:21but I think when you see the production on the field,
03:23it gives you confidence.
03:25So I think for someone like Carter too,
03:27it's also a confidence booster saying, wow,
03:29the effort that I put in this week,
03:31look at what I was able to do on the field.
03:33And even though it didn't result in a win,
03:35it's a great opportunity for him and the players around him to say,
03:39I can trust and believe in this guy because he's a good football player and he
03:42just has to put the work in and look what he was able to do in one week.
03:45Okay.
04:01Bye.
04:03Bye.
04:12Bye.
