00:45First up, we're in Savannah, Georgia, where state troopers are in pursuit of a man who just
00:50pulled a gun on an officer, and then stole a police cruiser.
00:55earlier chatham county police got a complaint from a hotel about a man in a pickup truck
01:01trespassing in their parking lot when officer philip hutto arrived he met the man who told him
01:08his truck wouldn't start where are you from virginia virginia okay just hang out for me all right
01:14i can't go nowhere after officer hutto ran his license the man was identified as 29 year old
01:21jacob palmer palmer was wanted in virginia for assault and drug possession charges and considered
01:28armed and dangerous officer hutto now approached the suspect cautiously and whose truck is this
01:35it's my truck okay all right is it me and my mother's name yeah my phone in your pocket
01:41officer hutto attempted to arrest the suspect but palmer fought back and during the struggle
01:57hutto's body camera fell to the ground
02:00the incident was also captured by the hotel's security camera according to officer hutto's
02:23police report the suspect pulled out a gun during the struggle but hutto was somehow able to pull
02:29the magazine out of it and when the suspect broke free the officer deployed his taser
02:36the taser was ineffective and palmer jumped into hutto's cruiser while the officer ducked behind
02:45these bushes for cover and called it in then the suspect led the scene in the police cruiser

03:16county we have a suspect armed and is now in a stolen patrol car we have bnb advisors a loaded rifle in
03:22that car now georgia state troopers dante williams and aaron di giacomo who were on patrolled in the
03:28area both rushed to track down the fugitive people up the way and they soon spot him as he speeds
03:38through this intersection after briefly going off road palmer drives in the opposite lane of traffic
03:55and blows through a red light the suspect then throws an item out of the car at the pursuing troopers
04:01hey he's throwing stuff out the car i don't know what he's reaching for now then without warning i got
04:08shots fired shots fired palmer fires at trooper di giacomo cracking his windshield whoa was that him

04:24he makes a wide right turn and slams into this suv ripping off its front bumper and then drives his
04:37truck onto the sidewalk going the wrong way on victory then moments later oh 10 50 10 50 still going still
04:44going still going he drives onto a median knocking over a street sign and losing one of his tires looks
04:52like he's lost one tire at least we're on victory and west victory heading west with his empty wheel rims
05:00scraping the street and kicking up clouds of dust the suspect drives up onto another median it's 10 50 and
05:07some more i mean the whole front end is coming apart this is going to end pretty soon before hopping a curb
05:12and crashing into this sign but this fugitive doesn't seem to be done yet
05:18as he exits the vehicle gun in hand
05:26the trooper fires on palmer who goes down
05:32the giacomo along with trooper williams carefully moves in
05:46as backup arrives and trooper williams gets the suspect in cuffs a fire suddenly breaks out in the
05:54stolen cruiser officers quickly move palmer to safety and provide aid as others use fire extinguishers
06:03to douse the flames troopers recover a handgun at the scene ems arrives and takes palmer to the
06:14hospital where he's treated and eventually released into custody palmer was charged with hijacking a
06:21motor vehicle aggravated assault on a peace officer obstructing an officer and fleeing or attempting to
06:27elude an officer he pled guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 56 years the first 18 to be served
06:34in prison and the remaining 38 on probation no officers were injured during the incident palmer's
06:41assault and drug possession warrant in virginia remains active and that case is pending
06:47next we're in sharonville ohio where police are after a suspect wanted for questioning about a recent
06:56shooting who's now driving recklessly and fleeing from law enforcement weren't he just wrecked into four
07:02vehicles earlier sharonville pd received multiple hits from flock cameras for a vehicle linked to a gas
07:10station shooting from two weeks prior dispatch spread the word and before long officer cody herbig had
07:17tracked the suspect down in a hotel parking lot but just as the officer pulled up the driver took off
07:2741 we're taking off we're coming out the main entrance here after exiting the parking lot
07:34the suspect hit the highway he's bouncing 75 the floor speed's at 70 but traffic's really heavy right here
07:43eventually the driver exits the highway but as he approaches this red light several vehicles are in his way
07:53where he just wrecked in the four vehicles we're continuing we're continuing
07:57this car is going to be disabled here shortly so stand by we're right in front of kenwood westbound
08:02as the chase continues on busy local roads and through this red light the suv begins to break
08:10down he's got a flat uh disabled front right at least so it's going to crash out here shortly so if
08:15i can get something to taste happen the driver blows through another red light where he nearly slams into
08:22another vehicle then after he zooms through another red light the suv literally starts falling apart
08:32right on ohio right on ohio and after making this turn things only get worse
08:40right on orchard cars on fire start fire cars on fire start fire uh dead in a orchard here they're
08:46running a foot bail the fugitive's car catches fire and after one final turn it comes to a stop
08:52all three passengers exit the driver makes a run for it while the other male passenger gives up and
09:03the female passenger runs across the street and stops
09:06a second officer arrives on scene with his gun drawn holds the two passengers at bay and calls it in
09:26as additional backup arrives where's he at
09:35the other one
09:39meanwhile officer herbig catches up with the fleeing driver
09:43get down yes sir i'm gonna taste you yes sir i'm sorry sir officer herbig gets an assist from a
09:51hamilton county sheriff's deputy and they cuff the driver stupid and you got the right to remain
09:57silent anything you do or say can be easy against you in court yes sir i got you 21 we got driver and
10:03customer on the corner of ohio and something right here officers lead the two passengers back to their
10:10cruisers while the fire department is called to the scene all three occupants are detained we're good
10:16there's three in custody and the car's on fire fire's in route after another fire starts in the suspect's
10:22vehicle firefighters arrive and quickly put it out the driver who police say was in possession of
10:29fentanyl was ided as 24 year old will hugley hugley's record includes a previous conviction on gun charges
10:37he was treated at a local hospital before being transported to jail and charged with possession of
10:43fentanyl obstructing of business and failure to comply with the order of a police officer
10:48he pled not guilty and his case is pending the two passengers were not charged in the incident
10:55as for the original gas station shooting police say after hugley was arrested the victims identified
11:01him out of a lineup as the shooter he was charged with two counts of felonious assault
11:07plead not guilty and that case is also pending next we're in tumwater washington her police are in
11:17pursuit of a suspect wanted for assaulting a law enforcement officer
11:24earlier around 4 a.m on a snowy morning olympia pd officer cutter spitholler was on patrol when he
11:31spotted a truck parked on the side of the road blocking traffic but when spitholler pulled up to
11:37the vehicle it took off soon officer jorge perez arrived as backup just as the vehicle suddenly stopped
11:4717 more scott high risk get out of the car put your hands up get out the car get out the car get the

12:02but again the driver refused to comply
12:08the suspect manages to pull away
12:10but when deputies catch up to the truck at this gas station
12:18they seize the opportunity as it spins out in the slippery parking lot
12:26stop the driver is surrounded and deputies including a canine unit order him to give up
12:33stop stop or you're gonna get bit by a dog exit the vehicle exit the vehicle with your hands up

12:47he manages to escape again but this deputy quickly attempts a pit maneuver
12:52the deputy's bumper gets stuck in the truck's rear wheel well
13:10but the suspect manages to break loose and please down the wet road in reverse
13:22this guy he turns the truck around and then brake checks the deputy behind him
13:30here to get this guy
13:36after two more pit maneuvers the suspect spins out
13:43but he still refuses to stop reversing into this grassy area
13:47after this deputy forces him up against a tree and another pulls up to block his exit path
13:57the fugitive seems to finally be stuck
14:00exit the vehicle the hands up exit the vehicle
14:05i can't see hands stay right there deputies spend almost an hour trying to get the driver to exit the
14:12truck when he still refuses to comply sergeant devin bagby and his canine partner i go prepare to move in
14:30when i go isn't able to jump up through the truck's window the sergeant gives him a lift

14:46despite struggling to fight back against canine i go the driver still refuses to get out of the truck
14:52so sergeant bagby deploys his taser
14:55and then pepper spray the pepper spray proves to be too much for the suspect
15:06and he finally comes out of the vehicle
15:10deputies move in and take him into custody
15:16he was id'd as 42 year old john joseph payette the third
15:20he was arrested and charged with attempting to elude pursuing police officers assaulting an officer
15:26harming a police dog and resisting arrest he's yet to enter a plea and his case is pending
15:33one of the deputies and the suspect were treated for minor injuries sustained during the pursuit
15:39canine i go also suffered minor injuries but according to the thurston county sheriff's office
15:44he's doing well and back on the job

15:54suspect in a semi truck who they say just assaulted his wife hit a police cruiser and is now on the run
16:01from law enforcement earlier when dispatch got a call about a domestic disturbance in progress
16:08the suspect's daughter told them that her father had fled the scene getting a ride from a neighbor
16:14dispatch sent out the alert all right it's going to be an airmail green shirt and jeans
16:21and you don't have seen in a purple hood sedan driving towards schloff from the address
16:25now just minutes later as corporal adam walker drives past this parking lot
16:30he spots the neighbor's vehicle one i've got it here
16:36stop the car put it in park shut it off
16:39on the truck don't move the neighbor tells the corporal that the suspect 55 year old ali zabib
16:49is in a nearby truck in the parking lot the corporal calls it in
16:53well the driver of that car is advising he's got into a semi truck which is back out of
16:58the parking lot that is on the ground i'll be seriously as the corporal approaches the semi with his gun drawn
17:06the truck starts moving forward hey stop
17:14shut off the truck shut off the truck hey shut it off as the tension rises backup arrives
17:22including this officer who pulls up right in front of the semi shut off the truck now but
17:32the suspect does not comply as the semi takes off officers run back to their cruisers and take up
17:46pursuit as the pursuit enters the highway officers become concerned that the situation may turn into an
18:11international incident but as he reaches the exit for the bridge to canada the fugitive does not take it
18:29we're bypassing the bridge speeds are 95 because officers are unable to pit the much larger truck
18:37and because dearborn pd does not use spike strips on moving vehicles officers make a decision in the
18:45interest of public safety 19 we're going to terminate this they devised the other agencies
18:50we know we did subject things there's no interest officers zhabib escaped from law enforcement but
18:57he was spotted in the area the very next day and several locals recorded police chasing the semi on
19:03their phones yo that's crazy zhabib was able once again to evade law enforcement but after two days
19:16on the run police learned from the suspect's family that his truck was equipped with a gps tracker so
19:22they were able to track him down at a local market where special ops quickly moved in
19:28the fugitive was quickly arrested without incident and put in the back of a cruiser
19:34zhabib was charged with domestic violence malicious destruction of property fleeing and eluding and
19:45reckless driving he pled no contest to all four charges and his sentencing is pending the suspect's
19:52wife suffered minor injuries to her hands and refused medical treatment no officers were injured
