00:00President Nicolás Maduro during his visit to the Amalibaca commune on Thursday strongly
00:16condemned the theft of the oil tank by the United States government and demanded to know
00:21the whereabouts of the ship and its crew. In Honduras the Public Prosecutor's Office
00:28reported on three new audio recordings that will be investigated for electoral crimes.
00:33And in Japan a 6.7 magnitude earthquake checkered the city of Kuji on the main
00:42island of Ponchu on Friday triggering alarms for a possible tsunami risk in the coming hours.
00:47Hello and welcome to From the South from the headquarters of Telesur English in Havana,
00:58Cuba. My name is Pablo Micheliche. We begin with the news. Stay with us.
01:02President Nicolás Maduro during his visit to the Amalibaca commune on Thursday strongly condemned the
01:20theft of the oil tank by the United States government and demanded to know the whereabouts of the ship and
01:25his crew. The head of state in his speech stated that he received a call from his Russian counterpart
01:31Vladimir Putin who expressed his support and admiration for the Venezuelan people in the face
01:36of imperialist aggression. In this regard the head of state Nicolás Maduro denounced that this act of
01:42criminal piracy against the entire Caribbean and Venezuela represents an escalation of aggression by
01:47the United States and undermines the country's right to freely trade its oil to the world. However,
01:53President Maduro stated that in the face of these threats the Venezuelan people remain firm courageous
01:59and united. President Maduro also reiterated that the destiny of both peoples must be peace,
02:05friendship, friendship and cooperation.
02:07They kidnapped the crew members. They stole the ship and they have inaugurated a new era, the era of
02:28piracy that is enabled and criminal in the Caribbean. So Venezuela rejects in all of its parts this action of
02:36piracy that is criminal against all of the Caribbean. And I have already given the instructions sufficient
02:49instructions for in all of the instances to be to do legal and diplomatic actions and the measures be
02:59taken because Venezuela is going to ensure all of the ships to guarantee the free commerce of its
03:06petroleum to the world. The Bolivarian leader denounced the criminal and illegal act committed by the
03:13United States government in assaulting, robbing and hijacking a Venezuelan oil tanker.
03:16Because yesterday they did an absolute criminal and illegal act when they proceeded to militarily
03:30assault and kidnap and steal as pirates of the Caribbean a ship, a commercial ship that is
03:42a civilian as well in private, a ship of peace that was assaulted almost reaching the Atlantic. It was not in the coast of Venezuela. It was almost
03:56north of Trinidad towards the island of Grenada reaching the Atlantic. At this hour that I speak to you,
04:05those who were on the ship, the crew of that ship that was taken to the international markets,
04:17many tons of petroleum that was paid in Venezuela because all of the people that take petroleum out
04:23of Venezuela pay a force. They are kidnapped and no one knows where they are.
04:29President Maduro also rejects narcotics accusations and claims that Venezuela is an irrelevant country
04:37in global growth trade. For several years they proved that Venezuela is a country that is not relevant
04:45in production and traffic of drugs. Through here they tried to move cocaine of the great factory of
04:56cocaine that is Colombia. The oligarchy of Uribe and Ander Pastrana and Juan Manuel Santos created a narco state
05:08in Colombia and it has arrived to have 250 000 hectares of coca leaves. I can say to you that in Venezuela
05:17there is not even one hectare of coca leaves and there is not even one hectare of marijuana.
05:28Also in Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro, during his visit to the Amalibaca community on Thursday,
05:33assured that his government provided evidence some time ago of the dismantling of the Tren d'Aragua group.
05:39We gave the evidence some time ago to the previous government and we have also given it to the
05:46current government, showing how Juan Guaidó, David Smolansky, Carlos Vecchio, Leopoldo López,
05:52Maria Gorina Machado and another group created a human trafficking network.
05:56Carlos Vecchio, Leopoldo López, Maria Machado and another group.
06:04Through that network they moved a group of non-criminals through the Darién towards the United States,
06:11criminals who had already been defeated in Venezuela.
06:20In Venezuela we dismantled that group, the Tren d'Aragua, using the law and the constitution,
06:26along with all other criminal organizations.
06:28In this context, the Venezuelan government filed a complaint with the highest maritime
06:35authorities in the world and accused the United States of committing an act of an act of piracy in
06:40the Caribbean Sea. The Venezuelan government asserted that the assault on one of his oil tankers
06:47violates international law and exposes Washington's true objective of appropriating the country's natural
06:53resources. Following instructions from President Nicolás Maduro, Vice President Darcy Rodríguez
06:58formalized the complaint before the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization,
07:03Arsenio Dominguez, describing the incident as a vulgar theft and an aggression that threatens freedom
07:10of navigation and trade. Venezuela also requested the activation of all the mechanisms of the
07:15organization to defend its sovereignty and emphasized that they will continue to appeal to international
07:20law to protect the resources that belong to the entire Venezuelan people.
07:30And now we have a short break coming up, but first remember you can join us on TikTok at
07:34Telesture English, where you will find news in different formats, news updates and much more.
07:38We will be right back still with us.
07:48Welcome back. In Venezuela, several musical groups gathered in the state of La Guayra to hold a concert
07:55for peace amidst the escalation of aggression by the United States in the Caribbean. In this context,
08:02numerous groups of different genres performed in a concert to confirm the Caribbean region as a sign of
08:08peace and to reiterate that Venezuela remains firm in the face of imperial threats. Once again,
08:13through music and the Latin America and Caribbean people are sending a clear message of resistance
08:20and unity in the face of imperial threats.
08:29A Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, made statements regarding the seizure of the Venezuelan
08:34oil tanker by the United States and called for the peaceful resolution of conflicts in accordance with
08:40international treaties. That's why I said it a moment ago. We agree with international treaties,
08:49with respect for international treaties, with non-intervention, with a peaceful resolution of
08:54conflicts, and Mexico must always uphold these principles. First, because it is a conviction,
09:00and second, because it is also enshrined in the constitution of the republic. And every president of
09:06Mexico must be guided by the foreign policy principles of the constitution. Mexico is an
09:12example to the world in this and that must always remain our position.
09:18The Mexican president stated that she has no comment on the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize
09:23to Maria Corina Machado and said that Mexico will always defend the principles of self-determination of
09:28people. Last time I said no comment, and I still say no comment. And by the way, it's very important to
09:39say that Mexico will always defend the self-determination of people's non-invasion, non-interference,
09:46and the decision of peoples to have governments that they themselves decide on.
09:491980 Argentine Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Pérez Esquivel highlighted the work of Telesur in the
09:59context of the struggle against the imperial Germany of the United States. Let's listen.
10:08Today it is an essential channel for learning about what is happening in the world because they want to
10:14impose a single way of thinking. Dominance is not only economic, but also cultural, based on that
10:25single way of thinking in order to dominate people. So let's talk about how Telesur has the rebellious
10:35conscience, which we see every day because it broadcasts opinion without dogmatism. Try to find ways to
10:53liberate peoples. We are in a very cruel and hard fight as are all those ships and weapons that Trump wants
11:02to impose on Venezuela, but also on Cuba for more than 60 years.
11:09Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Pérez Esquivel also questioned the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to
11:14an extremist who calls for a military invasion of her own country.
11:24For me, the Nobel Prize is nothing I expected. The other thing is that the Nobel Prize is a tool for the
11:31service of the service of the people, and I dedicate it to the peoples of America. So my work is not
11:37personal. My work is shared by thousands of indigenous people, farmers, men and women,
11:43boys and girls, in different parts of this great country.
11:47That it is the dream we have and that we have to make it a reality. Today I am saddened by the Nobel Prize.
12:01I wrote a letter to Corina and I am saddened that she has dedicated the prize to Trump.
12:07The chief is asking the United States to invade Venezuela. Today they are one step away from
12:25invasion. But I say that an attack on Venezuela is an attack on all Latin American peoples and it is a
12:32global offense. So we have to be very strong to face this very difficult situation in the world.
12:41But we also have the hope that another world is possible.
12:47So be strong and hopeful. And please to all Venezuelans, to all Latin American peoples,
12:55do not stop smiling at life. The day you stop smiling at life is the day they have defeated you.
13:03And that will never happen. Social and political movements around the world took to the streets
13:10on Wednesday to protest against the ongoing U.S. aggression against Venezuela and to reject the
13:14subordination of international peace organizations to the far right. Let's take a closer look in the
13:19following material. In Oslo, Norwegian protesters gathered in front of the Nobel Institute arguing that
13:27awarding the Peace Prize to far-right Venezuelan extremist Maria Corina Machado betrays the original
13:32spirit of the accolade. Moreover, they underscored that honoring Machado, a figure associated with
13:37calling for military aggression, contradicts Alfred Nobel's will to promote solidarity bonds among
13:42nations and the reduction of armies. In consequence, demonstrators announced legal action before the
13:47County Administrative Board of Stockholm in Sweden to revoke the prize and demand it to be awarded to true
13:52promoters of peace and disarmament. In this context, participants also expressed their solidarity
13:57with Venezuela and urged the end of the U.S. aggression in the Caribbean.
14:04Meanwhile, in Italy, political and social organizations based in Turin expressed their
14:08support for Venezuela and warned of the risk of the U.S. military escalation in the Caribbean.
14:12They denounced the Trump administration's attempt to restore an imperialist policy in the region
14:16and urged international movements to mobilize against this threat.
14:22In addition, thousands gathered in the French capital, Paris, near the Eiffel Tower to express
14:27their support for the people and government of Venezuela. This way, they denounced the interference
14:32and political and economic pressure from the United States, describing the unilateral sanctions,
14:36embargoes and attempts at a coup d'etat as crimes against peace. Meanwhile, in Latin America,
14:41Colombian social and trade union organizations mobilized in Bogota in rejection of the United
14:46States' foreign policy towards the region, which they denounced as an interventionist strategy
14:51against regional sovereignty. In this context, participants pointed out that Washington's
14:55coercive measures and support for extremist sectors in countries such as Venezuela evidenced a policy
15:00aimed at destabilizing governments to control the natural resources of sovereign nations,
15:04and in this scenario, they call on social movements to unite in a common front in defense
15:09of sovereignty and against all forms of intervention. Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei denounced that
15:16U.S. pressure against his country is part of a media war that is also being wages in Latin America.
15:21Iran's supreme leader asserted that the current confrontation against his country is a large-scale
15:26media war that also applies to the Caribbean. In Iran's speech in Tehran, Khamenei said that
15:31Washington's pressure on peoples is aimed at a territorial expansion and control of resources.
15:36His words come as Venezuela denounces the seizure of an oil tanker by the United States,
15:41an act that Tehran described as piracy. Finally, the Iranian leader affirmed that the offensive is
15:47not only military but also cultural and psychological.
15:50And we have come to a second show break, but before we invite you to visit our Facebook page

16:24In Japan, a 6.7 92 earthquake shaked the city of Kuji on the main island of Hoshu on Friday,
16:31triggering tsunami alarms for a possible coming-hour tsunami alerts risk. According to the Japanese
16:38Meteorological Agency, the disaster caused partial damage to roads, basic infrastructure and business
16:44in the city. The agency also stated that the seismic wave has triggered waves of up to 70 centimeters
16:52height and caused floodings in coastal areas. Authorities urged the population to ensure their homes,
16:59limit travel outside the home, and gather as much water as basic supplies as possible in light of the
17:04evolution of the weather phenomenon.
17:15The Honduran Public Prosecutor's Office reported on three new audio recordings that will be
17:20investigated for electric crimes. The investigation is focused on three new audio recordings that were
17:25revealed this Thursday by the Specialized Unit Against Electric Crimes. In response, the spokesperson for
17:31the Public Prosecutor's Office, Yuri Mora, announced at a press conference, the start of a new line
17:37of investigation arising from this material. Mora assured that the institution's paramount interest
17:44is the protection of democracy in the Central American nation. Authorities have not offered details
17:50about the content of the recordings so as not to affect the course of the ongoing investigations.
17:56We are here with the Specialized Unit Against Electoral Crimes because new audio recordings have been
18:09sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office, and, as criminal news, they must be investigated. That is why we have
18:16called you here today, because these are new investigations. New audio recordings that the Prosecutor's Office, or the
18:24Specialized Unit Against Electoral Crimes, or the Specialized Unit Against Electoral Crimes, will investigate.
18:31Argentine President Javier Millet signed a labor reform against social justice and the dignity of workers,
18:37which changes to overtime, vacation, and compensation. Argentine President signed a bill that is
18:42expected to be approved by Congress before the end of the year during extraordinary sessions. The document
18:48proposes reforming the Argentine labor model, reducing disputes, and adapting productivity processes to
18:54employment dynamics. In this regard, the SN8 announced that the initiative was approved, and the first chamber will discuss it.
19:03Argentine President Javier Millet.
19:13Among the points that will be established in the labor reform, the creation of a time bank is highlighted,
19:19where employees could work more hours in one or several shifts, which will not be compensated. It also
19:26established the accreditation of a bank account by the central bank for the payment of salaries. In addition,
19:32not including bonuses, vacation paying and awards upon termination of employment, the employer will
19:38be responsible for proposing the termination system. And finally, trade unions will be fined and workers
19:44will not be paid if they obstruct the entry or exit of people in an establishment.
19:53For its part, the General Confederation of Labor called for a protest to reject the labor reform.
19:57A mobilization is scheduled for next Thursday, December 18th, in the epicenter of Plaza de Mayo,
20:03and coincides with the debate in the Chamber of Deputies. They are also calling for a plenarization of
20:09regional delegations to propose a program of action at the proposal stage.
