00:00Next, the Venezuelan government filed a complaint with the highest maritime authorities in the world
00:04and accused the United States of committing an act of piracy in the Caribbean Sea.
00:10The Venezuelan government asserted that the assault on one of its oil tankers violates international law
00:16and exposes Washington's true objective of appropriating the country's natural resources.
00:22Following instructions from President Nicolás Maduro, Vice President Darcy Rodríguez formalized the complaint
00:27before the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, Arsenio Dominguez,
00:33describing the incident as a vulgar theft and an aggression that threatens freedom of navigation and trade.
00:40Venezuela also requested the activation of all the mechanisms of the organization to defend its sovereignty
00:45and emphasized that they will continue to appeal to international law to protect the resources that belong to the entire Venezuelan people.
