00:002026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo Casual Review approximately equals 4,800 chars.
00:11KTM has been through a rough patch lately, and everyone knows it.
00:14The last year brought financial struggles, restructuring, and barely any 2025 bikes actually reached the showroom.
00:22But with Behaj stepping in for a major bailout and buyout, things finally seem stable again.
00:29And honestly, the motorcycle world is way more fun when...
00:33KTM is around doing their wild KTM things.
00:36They already wowed us with the stunning 990 RCR.
00:41And now, the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo has finally landed.
00:46It was first shown at ICMA 2024, but didn't hit the roads until now.
00:51Meanwhile, the older 1290 Super Adventure S has been keeping the shelves warm with a big discount.
00:57So the question is, did the new 1390 arrive fashionably late, or too late?
01:03Well, with a brand new engine, an automated manual transmission AMT, radar cruise control, and a huge 8-inch portrait TFT screen, this thing is absolutely loaded.
01:16Honestly, the tech list is so long that it's impossible to digest in one sitting.
01:20But out on the roads of Tenerife during the launch, it all starts making sense, riding the 1390.
01:27For just a couple of hours is enough to forget that clutch levers ever existed.
01:31KTM's AMT is incredibly adaptable, whether you want to shift through paddles, the foot lever, or just let it handle everything automatically.
01:40The four ride modes keep things simple, and most riders will never even touch the deep customization menus.
01:46Then there's the radar-based rider aids.
01:49They sound strict on paper, but they're fully adjustable, or can be shut off completely.
01:54What you end up noticing most is how effortlessly the 1390 covers ground.
01:59It has more power, more stability, and more finesse than the old 1290, but it's also more relaxed when you want it to be.
02:07Which honestly feels strange for a KTM.
02:10In a good way, the new frame is stiffer.
02:13The semi-active suspension feels glued to the road.
02:15And though the 19-inch front wheel takes some muscle to tip in, the bike stays incredibly planted in corners.
02:22The Dunlop Trail Max Meridian tires help with predictable grip.
02:26And the Brembo brakes, paired with the new master cylinder, are sharp and confidence-inspiring.
02:32And yes, if you stop without downshifting, the AMT quietly slips you back to first.
02:38No stalls, no drama.
02:40Power comes from a revised 1350cc LC8 V-Twin, pumping out 173 BHP and 107 pounds FT of torque.
02:52New cam shift variable valve timing gives smoother lower PM behavior, and full aggression when you twist it hard.
02:58At idle, it still has that classic KTM throb raw and unapologetic.
03:04Pulling away without a clutch lever feels weird at first, but the centrifugal clutch does its job.
03:09Just hold the brake, twist the throttle to about 1,900 revolutions per minute, and off you go.
03:17Ride modes adjust everything from throttle to suspension to the AMT's shift patterns.
03:22On the street, auto mode is smooth, but sometimes shifts earlier than you'd expect.
03:28Switch to manual, and the bike feels more alive, especially on twisty roads.
03:34Out on the faster sections, auto mode adapts surprisingly well.
03:38Holding gears longer when you ride aggressively.
03:42Downshifts are accurate, and you can always give a manual tap to override.
03:46And if your hands are busy, the throttle can even trigger a kickdown.
03:50Sport mode turns the bike into a rocket.
03:53And the paddle shifter is addictively quick thanks to KTM's.
03:58Almost instant electronic actuator.
04:00It's still a question mark.
04:04It's a brand new model, after all, but KTM is backing it up with a four-year warranty and long 60,000 kilometers valve intervals, which should ease some nerves.
04:16Tech-wise, this bike is a spaceship.
04:18The ATINCH Portrait TFT feels like a tablet, fully touch-enabled, glove-friendly, and loaded with menus for suspension, engine behavior, cruise control, and KTM's famous Bias Extra features.
04:31Radar Adaptive Cruise Control is next level, with distance settings, group ride mode, stop-and-go capability, collision warnings, and brake assist.
04:40There's a bigger storage cubby with USB-C, offline map navigation, and plenty of charging options for phones or cameras.
04:49And of course, the whole bike is keyless ignition, tank, seat, even the optional PANNIERS.KTM, BA and KTM.
04:59Some features are locked behind the pricey tech pack, which unlocks deeper tuning, hill hold, better engine braking control, and more.
