00:00Riding Toprak Razgatliagla's BMW M1000RR World Superbike.
00:05A wild experience.
00:07When Toprak Razgatliagla won his second World Superbike, World SBK, title last fall, it
00:14didn't just prove his elite status, it showed the world what it looks like when someone
00:18practically rewrites the rules of physics.
00:21The way this 29-year-old Turkish superstar breaks, overtakes, and pushes limits is something
00:27even his fiercest rivals admit is just, different.
00:31But even a magician needs a proper wand, and for Toprak, that wand is the BMW M1000RR.
00:38With Ducati's V4S dominating recent seasons, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda have fallen behind.
00:45Only BMW, through its relentless development and the dedication of the Rocket BMW Motor
00:51Ad World SBK team, has stepped up to challenge Ducati.
00:55The results?
00:56A bike worthy of a double world champion.
00:59I had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to ride that very machine, Toprak's 2025-spec BMW M1000RR.
01:08At Cremona Racetrack in Northern Italy, just a day after Toprak bagged a hat trick of second
01:14place finishes there.
01:16Nervous?
01:17That's an understatement.
01:19A beast under the skin.
01:20First things first, while it's based on the road-going M1000RR, don't be fooled.
01:26This isn't some slightly souped-up showroom bike.
01:30This is a full-blown race weapon that looks like it's ready to bite your head off.
01:33The race version has updated aero, massive M3.0 winglets, and over 235-plus HP squeezed from
01:42the 999 cubic centimeters in line four.
01:46For comparison, the U.S. road version makes a modest 205 horsepower.
01:51This beast is built for Toprak's insane late-braking and corner-entry skills.
01:57Brake late, brake hard, and still hold the line.
02:01Also worth noting, Toprak rides low, like way down in the frame.
02:06While most racers perch on top of their bikes, Toprak almost sits in his, down near the subframe.
02:12It's unconventional, but it clearly works for him.
02:15Pre-ride, a crash course in complexity.
02:19This isn't a, start it up and go, kind of bike.
02:24There's no sidestand.
02:26No ABS.
02:28No label buttons.
02:30No rear brake pedal, just the thumb lever on the left handlebar.
02:34The dash looks like it came out of an 80s calculator.
02:38Oh, and the gearbox?
02:40Race shift style.
02:41First gear is down, and there's no neutral between first and second.
02:46You can't even select a gear unless the wheels are moving, which is why mechanics have to
02:50push you off.
02:52Also, don't idle too long.
02:54It has no static cooling system.
02:56Yeah, it's complicated.
02:58So, after a detailed tech briefing and feeling like I just sat through a college lecture in
03:03German, I was pointed down the pit lane with the team watching, and Toprak's actual pit
03:09box still set up behind me.
03:11No pressure.
03:12First laps.
03:13Fighting instincts.
03:15I hop on, get push out, and the rev limiter immediately pops and bangs.
03:20The Akrapovic exhaust echoes violently off the walls.
03:24Welcome to the Thunderdome.
03:25Once I release the pit limiter, by accident more than memory, it's just me and this ferocious
03:32machine.
03:33Instinct tells me to take it slow and get comfortable.
03:37But with racing slicks and brakes that work best when hot, easing in is the wrong approach.
03:43Either you go hard or risk a crash.
03:45The first lap feels completely alien.
03:47Nothing is soft, gentle, or familiar.
03:51You sit incredibly low in the frame, with the bars stretched out.
03:55It's bizarre, almost cruiser-like in posture.
03:58But the bike holds its line beautifully, and engine braking is dialed to perfection.
04:04As I head into a fast right-hander, it almost pulls itself into the apex.
04:09Somehow, Toprak's strange setup works.
04:13Acceleration and braking.
04:14Holy.
04:15Crap.
04:17Coming out of turn 7, I twist the throttle harder.
04:20The initial power surge feels manageable, probably because the team kindly toned things down in
04:26the lower gears.
04:27But once I click into third, boom.
04:30The full power slams into the chassis, and the world begins to blur.
04:35I've never experienced acceleration like this.
04:39It's not just fast, it's violent.
04:41Yet, with the giant aero winglets and BMW's race electronics, the front wheel stays down.
04:48No wheelie, just clean, brutal speed.
04:51Gear shifts are seamless.
04:53The half-mile straight disappears in two heartbeats.
04:56Braking into the next corner is another surprise.
04:59I expected the brakes to feel like smashing into a wall.
05:03But they're actually progressive and full of feel.
05:06They have massive stopping power, yes, but they don't punish you.
05:09It's all very smooth and confidence-inspiring.
05:13Finding a groove, and hitting a wall.
05:16After a few laps, I start to understand the bike.
05:20It turns beautifully, stays stable, and makes incredible use of the electronic aids.
05:25It's like a Supersport 600 in corners, but with rocket power on the straights.
05:31Still, that weird seating position throws me off every time.
05:34Imagine pulling the seat off your own bike and removing all rear suspension preload.
05:40Yeah, it's that low.
05:42And that fast?
05:44It never feels normal.
05:46I tried to keep pushing, keep learning, keep representing cycle world with at least some dignity.
05:52But after 15 minutes, I'm completely cooked.
05:55My arms are jelly, my focus is fading, and my respect for pro racers just shot through the roof.
06:01Debrief, so much to learn.
06:05Back in the pits, the rocket team tells me that the bike was indeed running a
06:09Press safe, set up.
06:12Turns out, the engine braking and power levels were adjusting in real time based on lean angle and gear.
06:18The real magic, they say, is customizing the engine brake for each corner.
06:23It's a mind-blowing level of detail, designed to help the rider lap after lap,
06:27even when the fuel tank's nearly empty and the tires are toast.
06:31And top rack?
06:33He rides it like a ballet dancer with superpowers.
06:36That cruiser-style setup?
06:38That's his signature.
06:40It defies logic, but clearly it works.
06:44Final thoughts.
06:45So what did I learn from riding Toprack's M1000RR?
06:49It's terrifyingly fast, yet surprisingly rideable, at least when set to.
06:54Easy mode.
06:55It's not built for comfort or familiarity, but for precision and performance.
07:01The level of technology and rider-specific tuning is insane.
07:05Respect for world SBK riders is now permanently etched into my bones.
07:10Honestly, I barely scratched the surface of what this machine can do.
07:14But even in that short time, I felt its character, its fury, and its brilliance.
07:20Toprack's M1000RR isn't just a superbike.
07:24It's a scalpel, a rocket ship, and a physics lesson all rolled into one.
07:29And riding it, even just once, was one of the most humbling, electrifying experiences of my life.
07:44And riding it, even though it's a superbike, it's a superbike, it's a superbike, it's a superbike.
