Speaking at the 10th Ambassadors’ Roundtable in Moscow, Lavrov criticized Western policies and argued that resolving “root causes” is essential for any long-term settlement.

00:00Well, we have the political will towards peace.
00:04The President personally, and let me highlight this once again,
00:09talks about his readiness to have a meaningful dialogue,
00:13primarily with the American side,
00:15because it is the one who shows serious intention to achieve results.
00:22And we do want to put an end to the conflict.
00:24Our principal position has not changed.
00:27It is possible to do that.
00:30If we alleviate the root causes of the conflict that are well known to everyone.
00:35The President said openly that we are not harboring any aggressive plans against NATO or the European Union.
00:43We are ready to provide written legal guarantees
00:47on a collective and mutual basis in the context of our approaches.
00:55I repeat that Russia stands by its word and we keep our promises.
01:03As stated by the President, if Europe decides to wage war, we are ready for that right now.
01:14Recently, U.S. Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff visited Russia and following his meeting with President Putin,
01:23both sides, the Russian and the American side, recognized and readmitted this mutual understanding that was reached in Alaska.
01:33In Alaska, this is a very important result because there was a certain break, a pause after the Anchorage meeting and currently in our contacts with the Americans on the Ukrainian file,
01:45I believe that all the misunderstandings were alleviated and the understandings that were reached in Anchorage are building upon the proposals that President Putin
01:57President Putin was어서 toushką과했습니다.
01:59President Putin was reached in the last two decades later on, but in the last few decades,
02:00trapped in a general manner in June 20, 24, we are talking about principles to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.
02:10I would like to mention Giuseppe Dragoni, chief of the military committee of NATO, and I quote,
02:19We think about acting more aggressively instead of responding.
02:26The alliance, NATO, that is, could consider preemptive strikes as defensive actions.
02:36End of quote.
02:37What's your take on that?
02:39How do you like that?
02:39Are there figures, political activists and military people think about preparing for war with Russia till 2030 or even 2029?
02:57And it is funny that this statement of the Italian commander who says that we need to have preemptive strikes and the prime minister of Italy, Madam Giorgio,
03:09Maloney tried to justify his statements.
03:13She was asked about her take on this matter and she said that these words should be interpreted in a right way in order to prevent a dangerous escalation.
03:25Is there any other way to interpret the words calling directly for preemptive strikes?
03:33Well, I'm sure that everybody understands what we're talking about.
03:39The West is out of despair trying to fuel tension and to keep on fighting.
