00:00A lot of chatter has been going on over the past several days on the 28-point peace plan
00:21brokered by the United States to end the four-year-long war between Russia and Ukraine.
00:28And even as reports indicate that the plan has now been cut down to 19 points after consultations
00:38between officials from the U.S. and Ukraine, the big question that remains is this — will
00:46Russia accept the altered peace plan?
00:50Russian President Vladimir Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov has dropped a few hints about the
00:57current status of the peace talks.
01:00Ushakov said on Wednesday that Moscow has not yet received any official document regarding
01:08the peace deal.
01:09Instead, what Russia has received are several unofficial versions of the proposed peace plan
01:17for Ukraine.
01:19He went on to describe this plethora of documents as, quote-unquote, confusing.
01:26And he stressed that, even though Russian and U.S. officials remain in contact regarding
01:32the broader peace framework, there have been no serious discussions at the negotiating table.
01:40However, the Russian official confirmed that an agreement has been reached for U.S. Special
01:46Envoy Steve Wykoff to visit Moscow to carry forward the discussions.
01:52This comes as Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Larov declares that even an amended peace plan for
01:59Ukraine must reflect the spirit and letter of the understandings reached between President
02:06Putin and President Trump at the Alaska summit in August.
02:12He has earlier warned that Moscow would reject any proposal that fails to meet Russia's long-standing
02:19demands with respect to the Ukraine situation.
02:23Meanwhile, Trump has stressed that there are only a few remaining points of disagreement.
02:30But there is still no fixed deadline for reaching a settlement on the Ukraine conflict.
02:36Trump also posted on Truth Social that he hopes to meet with President Zelensky and President
02:43Putin soon, but only when the deal to end this war is final or in its final stages.
