Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia agrees with the United States on the need to prevent a heated confrontation between Moscow and Washington. Lavrov said both sides understand the importance of avoiding direct conflict and maintaining strategic stability despite ongoing tensions in global affairs.
He said preventing escalation between the world’s two largest nuclear powers remains a shared priority, even as relations remain strained over Ukraine, NATO expansion, sanctions, and broader geopolitical disputes. Lavrov added that dialogue remains essential to avoid miscalculation and uncontrolled escalation.
The remarks come amid renewed diplomatic contacts and international efforts to reduce risks between major powers as conflicts and crises continue to reshape global security.
