Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, delivered a sharp critique of the OSCE during a briefing at the UN Security Council, warning that the organization is “on the edge of a precipice.” Polyansky accused NATO countries of provoking Europe’s security crisis while the OSCE “looks the other way,” allowing the institution’s core functions to become paralyzed.
He said the OSCE no longer plays a significant role in military-political, economic-ecological, or humanitarian security, accusing European leaders of “madness” and “brainwashing” the public into seeing Russia as an enemy and preparing for a future conflict.
Polyansky also argued that only “irresponsible politicians” oppose dialogue, stressing that Russia is ready for genuine discussions to reduce tensions. He urged European states to overcome “Russophobia” and embrace cooperation if they want the OSCE to survive.
The comments come as debates intensify over the future of European security, NATO expansion, and the collapsing trust between Moscow and Western capitals.
