04:38Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, and welcome to Beyond the Tape.
04:44And of course, I know many of you are locked on, not just in Trinidad and Tobago, but across
04:49the globe as well.
04:50We welcome you.
04:51I'm your host, Whitney Husbands.
04:52And I know over the weekend, a lot of persons were out and about because it's that time.
04:57The countdown continues where we approach your big day, which is Christmas Day.
05:00And we hope that you all had a safe and enjoyable weekend and also that you are paying attention
05:05to your surroundings.
05:07With all the cheer and excitement that is taking place as well, we also had some sad news.
05:11Now, another woman's life taken in an alleged murder-suicide incident in the Clarkson Bay
05:17area earlier today.
05:20More info at 7 tonight in the TV6 News.
05:24Also, over the weekend, the murder toll increased by 3 with fatal shooting in the Kearney area,
05:30Laventil Road, San Juan, and another victim fatally shot in the La Hocketa area on Saturday.
05:38Now, there was also a kidnapping for ransom over the weekend, which took place on Saturday.
05:44Husband and wife kidnapped at their home on Monos Island.
05:49Derek Tadu and his wife, Clarabel.
05:52Well, and with that, of course, our co-host who is here today, who is no stranger to the
05:58show, of course, he will give us more information on that situation.
06:01Not forgetting as well that today is 14 days in the 16 days of activism against gender-based
06:08violence against women and girls.
06:11And with that being said, as I mentioned a few seconds ago, the gentleman who is here to
06:15give us more insight of what's taking place with this situation and more.
06:19So, the captain himself, Captain Rambarat, who is here with us this evening.
06:23Good evening to you, sir.
06:24And how was your weekend, by the way?
06:26Oh, yeah.
06:26Good evening, Whitney.
06:28And pleasant good evening to our viewership on Beyond the Tape and TV6 and to our global
06:32audience as well.
06:35Whitney, it was exhausting.
06:37We conducted searches.
06:39Actually, we concluded five consecutive days of searching last evening.
06:45And so, it is a good rest day for me.
06:50And yet, I have to be on the tape.
06:53And when I leave here, I will become engaged in what you just spoke about.
06:58And that is the unfortunate kidnapping of the Tadio couple.
07:03That is Derek Tadio, age 70, and his wife, Clarabel Tadio, age 47.
07:13And they were allegedly abducted from their Monos Island home in Chagramas on Saturday.
07:21The country didn't become aware of this until this morning.
07:24But it began on Saturday night.
07:28And that is when a ransom call was made.
07:31And a huge ransom was demanded.
07:35I just want to say this to our viewing public, to our viewing audience here this evening.
07:42I have every faith that the units involved within the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is capable of handling this.
07:53And that they will do their utmost to bring a peaceful resolution to this situation.
07:59And I'm looking back in the years 2023 to 2025.
08:05They've been very successful.
08:08In fact, there were a number of times when the kidnapped victims were successfully extracted.
08:15And even though ransom payments were made, a lot of these, I call them victim hostage stickers, they are before the courts.
08:25So I have every faith, and we continue to work alongside the team, the anti-kidnapping unit, specifically their highly trained unit, and other units, the SIU and other units, to deal with this situation.
08:41But what is important for the public to know is that the information that the public may have is very important.
08:51This incident, Whitney, occurred in a marine environment.
08:55So what you're looking at, in terms of information, is people who use the waters, or fisherfolk, or marine craft operators, they would have seen something on Saturday night.
09:08And all we're asking you to do is to call 800-TIPS-ANONIMOUSLY, 999-555.
09:16And if you don't want to call any of those, call 799-1453, it's just as good.
09:22So we need information to, you know, to assist the authorities to bring a safe ending to this alleged abduction, which happened on Saturday night.
09:34Yes, and of course, to get more information on that same incident that took place and situation, and of course, as Captain mentioned, the information that you could also assist, a U.S. 2.5 million ransom has been demanded for the safe release of 70-year-old Derek Tardew and his 47-year-old wife, Clara Bell.
09:54The couple, who live on Monos Island and operate a boatyard in Chagaramus, was reported missing on Saturday night.
10:03Police confirmed that a relative received a message on his cell phone, that is, at around 9.44 p.m.
10:11And the voice which you're hearing, Derek, saying, they have me and want 2.5 million U.S. for my release.
10:20Now, Tardew's son told police he went to the couple's house following the message, but they could not be found.
10:27The house was ransacked.
10:29The son reported that calls made to his father's cell phone went unanswered.
10:34Officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Homicide Division are continuing investigation.
10:39So, that is all the information we have thus far, along with, of course, the Hunter's Search and Rescue Team, along with Captain giving us more insight there.
10:47Yeah, and so, you know, that confirmed that it was indeed a kidnapping for ransom.
10:52Yes.
10:52Okay, so, as well, Whitney, last Tuesday, two gentlemen from the, two men from the Claxton Bay District went missing last week.
11:05I'm sorry, since Tuesday, the 28th of November.
11:09However, they did not raise an alarm until last week, Tuesday.
11:13Jason Roll, age 50, from Springville, California, Claxton Bay, and Tyrese Peters, age 20, they left home to take Jason Roll's girlfriend home in the White Land District, and they never returned.
11:29They did not raise an alarm until last week, Tuesday.
11:33And, Whitney, since Wednesday, we've been in the field searching for these two guys.
11:38All right, it's been, it was tough going.
11:42We left home early on each day, and we came back late at night.
11:47We searched several parts of Trinidad and Tobago.
11:50Whatsoever information, we were able to gather, little leads here and there took us to various parts of the island.
11:57And so, we were out for five consecutive days.
12:01Now, the thing is, we know that there are members of the public who may have seen or heard something, and we're asking you to please, if you have information, to call 800-TIPS-999-555 or 799-1453.
12:20And any information you may have, just jog your memory a bit, you may remember something, something occurring in a bar or near a gas station, something you may have observed.
12:34Please call us, contact the police, and let's try and get these gentlemen home with me.
12:40Safely, yes.
12:41We're hoping for the best day, and I know being in a position like that is something you cannot imagine unless you are placed in it or experienced it before.
12:48Yeah, and the information we have thus far is that the younger one, Tyrese Peters, he was certainly in the wrong place at the wrong time.
12:57We did a background check on him, and he was certainly in the wrong place at the wrong time, and his family is distraught.
13:05I mean, both families are distraught, but his family is just out there.
13:09And it is, I think, their family that had us out into the field, because we know he was innocently involved in possibly a situation, and we needed to find him.
13:20He left his family in agony.
13:25Yes, and shambles.
13:26At this time, it's time to look at the SOE update, and we are at day number 145.
13:32Looking at the numbers now, number of operations, 10,621, target priority offenders, 3,331, searches conducted, 70,869, traffic operations, 7,562, total persons arrested, 4,454, total persons charged, 2,437.
13:59Traffic offenses detected, 40,053, firearms recovered, a total of 237, ammunition recovered, we're seeing an increase with the wrongs at 9mm, and a total of 3,307.
14:18And dangerous drugs seized, we're seeing again an increased grams of cannabis, and also the grams of cocaine that have increased.
14:27Of course, the officers are out there trying their best to take a lot of the drugs and ammunition.
14:33And you're seeing the results of your work here, right?
14:36Yes, most definitely.
14:36So this is good, and this is the part that I like.
14:39You are under an SOE, you said an SOE is needed, show us the results.
14:44Yes.
14:45And they're providing the results, and so to the independent viewer out there, you could see the results and say, okay, work has been done, progress has been made, and there was a need for this SOE.
14:56Yes, most definitely.
14:57At this time, let's take a look at what made today's headlines.
15:00We'll see you soon.
15:01We'll see you soon.
15:03We'll see you soon.
15:36A lot of stories making the headlines today and of course we'll dive in more into that.

19:42And welcome back to Beyond the Tape.
19:55If you're now joining us, we have Captain Rambarat here with us as we continue further into what is taking place.
20:01And I know we have an update when it comes to the missing persons.
20:04So what is the update looking like now?
20:05Right.
20:06So Whitney, like for November, we were able to further reduce the missing persons by four over the course of this week.
20:14We did some work on that.
20:15So we're down to about six, still outstanding for November.
20:20And thus far for December, we've had ten reports of missing persons.
20:24And we still have eight outstanding.
20:28And of the eight, we have Jason Roll and Tyrese, Tyrese, his name is Tyrese, how it slipped me, and we dealt with it earlier.
20:40Tyrese Peters, right.
20:42So we dealt with this one earlier.
20:43We went into some details in terms of the stitches.
20:46And we strongly feel that, you know, that those residents who live in the Claxton Bay area,
20:52that they should be vigilant and try to remember anything that could help us or help the police or help the family to try to get these two guys.
21:03Today, I believe, is day 11.
21:05And really, it's a lot of pain on the part of the family to be.
21:12And then we have, after this, we have Daniela Paria.
21:17Now, Daniela, now it's supposed to be Paria.
21:20Okay.
21:21All right, so I have just observed the mistake there.
21:25And Daniela is currently moving around with two other girls who have been previously missing from the children's home.
21:32We are on top of information with respect to these three girls.
21:36And hopefully, in the next coming days, we will be able to look at all three.
21:41But if you see Daniela Paria, if you have any information, please call us at 799-1453.
21:47I just received on my phone further information from a member of the public on her.
21:52Yes.
21:52So we should be able to work and bring her home shortly.
21:55Jason Ali Whitney, he has been almost homeless living in the Curiep area.
22:03He fell just on the outside of a grocery there.
22:09He got a seizure.
22:10We know for a fact that his tongue, his tongue got cut.
22:15The medics took him to Mount Hope Hospital.
22:17But before he could be admitted there, he most likely absconded.
22:23And thus far, we have not been able to locate Jason Ali.
22:27So those residents, especially those who live around the Mount Hope Hospital, Champley, Moundo area.
22:34Jason is popular in Curiep, but we are looking at the St. Joseph Moundo area.
22:40Keep an eye out for Jason Ali.
22:42We've checked the hospitals.
22:43He isn't there.
22:45So he should be moving around in that area.
22:48Please call 799-1453.
22:51I was in touch with the relatives just before the program started.
22:56And they want to get information on him.
22:59And Stephen Clement, Whitney, he visited the Arima Hospital with a relative.
23:07Right.
23:07Right?
23:08While waiting to see the doctor, he stepped outside.
23:14The relative stayed inside.
23:16She found he was taking too long.
23:18And then when she stepped outside to look for him, he disappeared.
23:22However, Whitney, he's blind.
23:24So Stephen Clement has been missing since the 5th of December.
23:30He's blind.
23:31And we know for a fact that people in and around the Arima Hospital area, you should be able to spot Stephen Clement.
23:41Searches were conducted in the area for him.
23:44But thus far, he's still missing.
23:46So please call 799-1453 or the Arima Police Station if you spot Stephen Clement anywhere in the Arima area and environs.
24:01And then we have Alicia Bonaparte.
24:04This case is causing some stir, Whitney.
24:07Alicia used to attend school from the Arima district.
24:11She used to go to the Matlott Secondary.
24:14Her teacher used to take her off every day and bring her back.
24:17She used to go to church.
24:19Everything was going good.
24:20Until two weeks ago, she was transferred because the mother moved to Sawa.
24:24And she was transferred to Sawa Secondary.
24:28And she has gone missing.
24:30And that's why it's causing some concern.
24:33Even during the day, I got so many pieces of communication with respect to Alicia.
24:38Now, if you all have information, please contact 799-1453 or the Sawa Police Station.
24:47We want to get this child home.
24:49She isn't familiar with the Sawa area.
24:51She just moved to the area two weeks ago.
24:55That's all.
24:55Right?
24:56And then we have the couple which we dealt with earlier in the program, Derek Tadier and Clarabel Tadier.
25:04So, if you have information, you could call the police directly.
25:09And if not and you're feeling it difficult, you don't have money on your phone to call a direct police station.
25:15Call 800-TIPS-999-555.
25:17Or call us and we will pass on any information that is deemed credible to the police.
25:23So, Whitney, that's it in terms of the update for missing persons for November.
25:29Yes.
25:30And as you mentioned, on the Saturday with the couple that went missing,
25:33we have a clip that was circulating also on social media.
25:36That persons can take a look if you missed it.
25:41Oh, yes.
25:43Robert, please.
25:45In the area of public charge of peace.
25:48My life.
25:48My wife.
25:50Don't go.
25:51Don't go.
25:51Don't go.
25:52Don't go.
25:54Right.
25:55And there you could see where Derek is making an appeal.
25:59And of course, he used the word dinero and muchacho.
26:03I think most of us know what that means.
26:05And you could see where the hostage taker is holding a hand grenade.
26:11And if you watch closely at the clip, right above to the left of his head there,
26:15you could actually see a rifle.
26:18Right?
26:18Yes.
26:19And so that's the situation with the tadier couple.
26:26And we're asking you all to be vigilant, especially those in the Northwest Peninsula.
26:30Yes, because I know you have something to go to shortly.
26:34But persons who are, you know, they have property down the islands and they usually visit.
26:38What could you tell them, and you're working with the TTPs, just as persons to understand the importance of also protecting themselves in a situation similar to this?
26:47Well, the thing about it is, I know we always encourage you to make sure you have security cameras.
26:53But as you brought it up, Whitney, if those persons are visiting their homes, please check your CCTV cameras on the islands from maybe Friday into Saturday.
27:03But for those persons, you've got to invest in your security systems.
27:10You have geo-trapping devices now that can be purchased.
27:15And actually, Whitney, we're dealing with someone right now.
27:18I don't want to say much about it, and we hope to enter into a partnership so that you are going somewhere, Whitney.
27:24We get something on you, and that will tell us where you are at all times.
27:29So, there are devices out there, but we're working with a partner right now that will bring a really professional dimension to these tracking devices.
27:38Now, let's take a look what took place in the San Juan area some days ago, where it shows how persons, in a matter of seconds, your life could change because of whatever altercation on the power of a firearm.
27:57No mask.
27:59Nothing to hide his identity.
28:02I don't know what could cause anyone to be so angry, where you will go in your vehicle to take a weapon with someone who is not giving you equal force or charging at you or towards you to take away someone's life.
28:18Yeah, Whitney, I'm seeing it for the first time, and that's a brazen killing, and it must have been in the heat of the moment.
28:26And it's a reaction to something.
28:29I think he has absolutely no care in the world for those other patrons.
28:33Yes.
28:34He was there, probably angry.
28:36I wanted to take out the person, but no care for other persons who are sitting there having their drinks.
28:43And, you know, it had to be an altercation or something that would have led to that, but certainly he made no attempt to conceal his identity.
28:54Yes, and it just goes to show, I mean, the country seems very angry because stility in individuals.
29:03I even mentioned this earlier this morning where persons are walking around, and if you watch your faces, you've seen a lot of frowns.
29:11Yeah, yeah, yeah.
29:12Yes, I agree with you.
29:13Strangling with internally is one thing, and then when you have such a powerful item or object that in a matter of seconds could change your life, in this case, you're surely going to jail.
29:27Right.
29:28And you took away someone's life, family members are traumatized, you know, it destroys so many people on different sides of the coin, but it just goes to show the importance of emotions and controlling one's emotions, regardless of, you know, this person wasn't physical, we don't know, we still don't know.
29:48I don't want to insinuate anything, so I'm not going to add anything there, but where there may be conflict, the person may have walked away.
29:56You walked away, but you're telling yourself, you know what?
29:59You are going to get something.
30:00Out of it.
30:01It's a proof of point.
30:02Just a proof of point.
30:03Yeah.
30:04And you're right in terms of the population, there seems to be a rage if you look at other aspects, the road traffic accidents, you're seeing road rage, and the whole issue of how we settle conflicts, that has to become a discussion point so that, you know, we could teach the young ones how to resist.
30:26In terms of conflicts, quietly turn your back on it, just ignore it, just do as if it didn't occur, but just don't provoke anyone as well, because you don't know who you're provoking, that person might have an illegal firearm on them.
30:42So you've got to be circumspect, and we preach safety in everything we do, but safety also requires a certain amount of calm and a certain amount of thoughtfulness before you act.
30:56Yes.
30:56We take a break, and we'll continue with more to this.

35:04We welcome you back to Beyond the Tape.
35:17Now, we are entering day 14 of Frequently Asked Questions.
35:21Two more days, of course.
35:23And the question for today, what action can a protection order prohibit?
35:27Now, a protection order may, A, prohibit the respondent from engaging or threatening to engage
35:35in conduct, which could constitute domestic violence towards the applicant, being on premises
35:42specified in the order that are premises frequent by the applicant, including any residence,
35:50property, business, school or place of employment.
35:53Not being in a locality specified in the order.
36:00More to come, but Captain.
36:03Yeah, and so it's a direct look at, it's taking a look at gender-based violence and this protection order.
36:12Now, it seems to be contentious out there because some people would say that, you know,
36:18they're fearful of obtaining one because it may spark further violence or further threaten their life.
36:24But what it has also proven is that it guarantees you that level of safety you need while withdrawing
36:33for a particular relationship.
36:36And the law is there to protect you and to guide you in this regard.
36:41But we can't disregard the other side to it where persons are still fearful and has to think things
36:49through carefully before approaching the court for a protection order.
36:53Now, there's more as well, and I want us to take a look further as we get more details.
36:58Direct or indirect communication with the applicant, taking possession of damaging, converting or otherwise
37:06dealing with property that the applicant may have an interest in or reasonably used by the applicant
37:12as the case may be, approaching the applicant within a specified distance, approaching a named person
37:20who is in a domestic relationship with the applicant or the respondent, causing or encouraging another person
37:28to engage in conduct referred to as paragraph one, all right, or any other prohibition that the court thinks fit.
37:45Yes, so with me it comes like a legalizing separation.
37:49But some persons may have a very peaceful separation after being in a relationship.
37:56And the whole idea of the protection order is to ensure that there are safeguards,
38:02especially where gender-based violence is involved.
38:06So it gives protection to the party who is applying for that separation status.
38:13Yes, most definitely.
38:14Now, as the TTPS continues to raise awareness and strengthen digital safety
38:19and stand together against all forms of online abuse,
38:22we are Sergeant Marvin Walker, Head of the Cyber Crimes and Social Media Unit at the TTPS,
38:28shares this message.
38:30If you look at it in the perspective, from the creative perspective,
38:34there's the advent of AI technology, and that also brings some challenges to the fore.
38:40But what persons have to be mindful of is as being aware.
38:43How do these platforms work?
38:47How do these applications work?
38:49What sort of information that they gather on you?
38:52The permissions that you may give to these applications in order to access your data,
38:58or in return, you accessing that data.
39:01If you look at it from that aspect and see the opportunities that may be available for the criminals to come after you,
39:10you want to put some measures in place to mitigate that.
39:13From the financial perspective, it's all about protecting your privacy in terms of your passwords.
39:21You know, you will hear the cliche of always changing your passwords
39:25and being mindful of who you may share your passwords with.
39:29But also, we have to be mindful in terms of our connectivity in connecting to public networks or new networks,
39:38where there are some vulnerabilities can creep in there.
39:43Let's unite to end digital violence against all women and girls.
39:47Great message from Sergeant Mooka, Captain.
39:57Yes, so Whitney, I want to say, Upani, Hunter, Search and Rescue Team,
40:00we are supporting the TTPS in this 16 days of activism.
40:05Only this morning I was on the phone with Superintendent Darryl Ramdas.
40:09In terms of how things are going, we are assisting them with certain things.
40:13All right, to make sure that they have a successful 16 days of activism.
40:18But what Sergeant Walker spoke about is very important.
40:21He's talking about as we continue to enter the digital age and improvements in the digital age,
40:30he's also speaking about challenges with it and how persons may want to invade your privacy
40:37and take private property and information that could harm you.
40:41And, you know, the whole concept of data mining has always been there
40:45and how people mine for data on you and persons.
40:50So some may use it for opportunities, good things,
40:54and then there are those who will use it to scam you, your money from the bank,
40:58who may look to do all sorts of things.
41:01So this whole question of digital violence against girls and women, we support that a lot.
41:07And I don't know if you recall, three persons being charged recently.
41:11Yes.
41:12Right?
41:12And, you know, it's a step in the direction.
41:14They're being proactive.
41:16And that's why I want to congratulate the TTPS on this initiative.
41:21You're taking the right steps.
41:23You're doing it up front.
41:24You're making sure that the population is aware so that, you know, you're not catching up.
41:29Yes.
41:30I want you to be, we want you to be proactive.
41:32Yes, most definitely.
41:33Now, we open in 493 to give us a call, 623-1711, extension 1996 and 1997.
41:41Now, we know what is taking place with this season.
41:44And I know persons will be wanting to go out and have a good time
41:47and experience the festivities that will be taking place.
41:50But we will dive in more than that.
41:52And, of course, we'll take your calls after the break.
41:54We'll be back.

45:41And we are back and remember the phone lines are open. Now Captain, let's speak about snakes in this
45:46season. It seems like, I mean, I've encountered a lot of snakes lately.
45:50So, Whitney, like I sent something to the producer and I said to her, I want to speak about it.
45:56Simply because November is our second rainiest month in the year. And at this time, the soils
46:02are saturated. The forest is wet. The logs are wet. And our friends from in the forest would
46:10tend to drift out of this damp environment and try to seek warm places to stay. And so this is us in
46:20in the Pitti Valley, a fairly built up area. You know, just we were called out to look to capture a snake
46:30there. And we went and released it into the forest afterwards. It's a service we offer to the public free of charge.
46:37Yes. And we also do a lot of wildlife rescues. And this is the second one in Digo Martin in the past week.
46:44And then we also had a member doing one in Valencia yesterday. So I thought, you know, that being now is a rainy period.
46:54Please look out for them. And they're easy to handle. They will not attack you. They will just be a friend for a couple of hours.
47:03Call Hunter Search and Rescue Team at 799-1453. And we will come and collect it. We've done owls. We've done a lot of wildlife with respect to rescue.
47:13I can bring you wrong, but these snakes are very big. Yes, they are. And they're very gentle. So I'm barely resting. I don't know if producer, you can show it.
47:22Yes, of course, yes. I'm barely resting my fingers around the neck. I'm not squeezing the neck there.
47:29Look at him. He's moving his neck and very gently holding him. He's not even giving anyone trouble there.
47:37It's clean. There was no smell at all on this animal. It's a beautiful specimen Whitney.
47:43Okay, I know the beautiful part. So how do you deal with human snakes?
47:47Well, we are aware. We are afraid of the two-footed snakes now.
47:53But we prefer these guys to be our friends. That's why we go all over Trinidad helping them.
47:58Yes. But please call us and we'll come and safely remove them. I'll put them back into the environment where they're comfortable.
48:04They will have a long life. Okay, so please don't destroy them. Let's all try to conserve what we have.
48:12So the future generations will know what it is to see a red-tailed bow constrictor.
48:18Oh, my goodness. Yeah, I'd rather watch it on the screen than actually see it in real life.
48:23I stay far away. We're keeping it in the West from Pretty Valley to St. James.
48:27Festivities took place in the St. James U Club, of course.
48:30And we saw Corporal Sharbody. You're seeing him there. Oh, yes.
48:34Having always a good time. Sharpe. Yes. And Whitney, what happened was that, you know, we support the St. James.
48:41Yes.
48:42Hunter, the search and rescue team. We support them a lot.
48:45Corporal Sharbody is doing a tremendous work. You're seeing the fans in the back there?
48:51Yes, yes, yes.
48:52Right. So, actually, it's a cultural thing, sporting thing, and involving the youths, making sure that they assist the youths with building character.
49:02And there's Super Blue. We had a fun time with both him and you've seen Black Seeds.
49:07Yes. So we went after our search. We searched all day.
49:12Yes. And then came to St. James.
49:13And then went to Pity Valley to spend some time and to support them because it was a fun reason.
49:20Yes.
49:21And any activity that is geared towards the upliftment of citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, Hunters, Suit and Rescue Team will support it.
49:30Definitely. Now, we just want to let the public know reminders of the numbers to contact the Firearms Department, which is 627-5217, extension 12410, 12411, and 12412.
49:50Also, reminding persons in Tobago of the 631-HELP hotline to provide information anonymously and confidentially as well.
49:59Yeah. And there's a raging debate going on out there, Whitney, with respect to the Stand Your Ground bill.
50:05Yes.
50:06And now there's a call for firearms. And then, you know, the commissioner is saying, by law, he is the person to approve and he will do so.
50:16Because what we support is that you must rigorously go through the application form.
50:24And, you know, we just spoke about road rage and how people behave.
50:27Yes. And emotions of persons.
50:28And emotions.
50:29When things happen.
50:30You don't want these types of persons holding legal firearms.
50:33So, the vetting process has to be strenuous.
50:36You have to be a responsible individual and you have to understand what you've got that firearm for.
50:42Yes. And, you know, sometimes persons believe it's always an illegal firearm holder that may execute something illegal.
50:49But, there are persons who have legal firearm. And, again, emotions take over.
50:53The fire makes you feel extremely powerful.
50:55Yeah.
50:56In a moment of you showing that, listen, I am the one in charge here and you can't tell me or do something to me.
51:02And, if someone is not being physical from what we learned over, the years on the show and beyond the tape, it's one way.
51:08If it is not where it's your life or the person's life that you're trying to defend in self-defense situations.
51:14Yeah.
51:15There's no need to go to that point of where you go to deadly force.
51:19And, there's another aspect of the rigorous application form where you have spouse and applicant.
51:28The spouse has to give permission for that person to be the holder of a legal firearm.
51:35Oh, like if you are married.
51:37If you are, yes.
51:39You can't just go and apply for a firearm.
51:41The spouse must give the approval and that criteria is important because we've had several cases of murder-suicide where, you know, persons use their firearm other than the purpose for which it is given.
51:57And, also, we've had situations where, you know, users threaten other persons with the firearm, right, and had to be reported.
52:06So, in order to avoid those type of situations within a domestic arrangement, that aspect of the rigorous, how they process your application is very important.
52:22Yes.
52:23And, I hope persons understand that and it's not just like, you know, it's a video game where, oh, I just want to have a gun for having a gun's sake.
52:29The responsibility that comes with holding a firearm is one way.
52:33It is, to me, the level of having a child.
52:36Yes, it is.
52:37It is.
52:38I agree with you 100%.
52:40Something that you also have to protect and make sure that you, you know, you see having it on you and you understand every aspect of it.
52:50Yes.
52:51And, concealing it in your right way.
52:52And, concealing it in your right way.
52:53I've seen persons with firearms deliberately making sure that people could say, I know you have a firearm.
53:00Yes.
53:01And, I think that's not the type of behavior that somebody should exhibit if you have a whole of a firearm.
53:07Yes, it's very strange to see when persons try to show, like we in the Wild Wild West, you know, where you have the gun holds done.
53:15You just want persons, you know, you see the symbol, you know, what is this big thing here?
53:18Yeah.
53:19Like, no one needs to know that.
53:20Yeah, that's simply a power play.
53:21Yes.
53:22And, just an item to show off with, to feel, you know, that you're big and you're bad.
53:27But, unknowingly, somebody may see that and want it.
53:32Yes.
53:33And, then you may become the subject of an assault in order for somebody to get your legal fire.
53:38No, but, I mean, if you're not alone, like the way in which persons may come at an individual knowing that they want items from them and they know this person is a carrier, they will come with their guns too.
53:49Exactly.
53:50Because they already know that you have a firearm.
53:51It's supposed to be an element of surprise.
53:53Yes.
53:54Not an element of, look how big my gun is.
53:56Yes.
53:57That is not how it works.
53:58Like, oh persons who are really serious about holding a firearm understand the importance of you holding that firearm and you have life and death in your hand.
54:08Right.
54:09And, but I do support a measure of freeing up the system so that, you know, like business persons, professionals who may be targets.
54:19Yes.
54:20Easy targets, you know, that they get.
54:22Um, and also the, the whole question, something that I support greatly Whitney.
54:27Yes.
54:28I know you wouldn't be familiar with it, but it has been a while since hunters would have received firearms.
54:34They apply all the time.
54:35Oh.
54:36Not only hunters, but guard, farmers as well.
54:39And that process has to be returned and we want to see more getting firearms.
54:45What happened with me and, and I am involved in this, in this hunting thing so much that
54:53persons go and they buy, they, they, they make their own guns because they want to continue to practice the sport of hunting.
55:00Yes.
55:01It is lodged in the forest.
55:02So most likely the police would never get it.
55:05But that is the practice.
55:07You were supposed to say that?
55:08I could say it because the police would know the history as well.
55:11Okay.
55:12Hunters know the history.
55:13Yes.
55:14Until they, you know, they keep trying, they keep trying to get their firearm.
55:17But they are bona fide hunters.
55:19And, um, they love the sport.
55:21They do everything that is right apart from that one.
55:25Yeah.
55:26But I'm hoping that they can have these.
55:27I really, I'm going to advocate for, you know, more hunters and families.
55:31Yes.
55:32You can have a licensed firearm to hunt.
55:34But this one is not the sidearm.
55:35Oh, no, no, no.
55:36This is a shotgun.
55:37Shotgun, yeah.
55:38But they should have something in police law that for people who love hunting.
55:41Because, you know, we have that season to hunt wild animals during that period.
55:47You could have a licensed firearm for that said purpose alone.
55:51Right.
55:52So how it works is that if we have a young hunter, we know you have to be trained and
55:56extra experienced hunter.
55:57Yes.
55:58So you go through the first ten years or five, six years, you know, without a firearm,
56:02you're learning, you're watching, you're learning from the seasoned hunter with a firearm.
56:07And, you know, once you mature and you are recommended, then you get your firearm.
56:13Yes.
56:14So that you could continue.
56:15That aspect of hunting where you have that ability to shoot.
56:18Yes.
56:19Captain, we'd like to thank you so much for being here with us this evening as usual.

56:31We're in a season where there are persons who may want what you have, money, property.
56:36Yes.
56:37Be careful.
56:38Take your necessary safeguard at all times.
