La Salle sets up finals clash with UP for third straight year  De La Salle overcomes the twice-to-beat National University in their UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball Final Four pairing for the second time, 78-73, at the Araneta Coliseum on Dec. 6, 2025 to set up a Finals clash against defending champion University of the Philippines for the third straight year.   Jacob Cortez drained the go-ahead jumper and scored one more free throw, while Kean Baclaan sealed the win for the fourth seed Green Archers with two free throws in the last 3.5 seconds.   Cortez finished with a career-high 29 points, four rebounds, and four assists to lead La Salle past the top seed NU. Jake Figueroa paced the Bulldogs with 21 points, six rebounds, and five assists. 00:52And also we have to give credit to NU for really not giving up until that final buzzer.

00:58It was really, you know, a naked and tuck up there.

01:04and they were just, they came out smarter, especially in the second half.
