UP squeaks past UST for 5th straight Finals appearance   Defending champion University of the Philippines advances to the UAAP men's basketball Finals for the fifth straight time after dispatching University of Santo Tomas, 82-81, in their Season 88 Final Four semifinal match at the Araneta Coliseum on Dec. 3, 2025. Terrence Fortea drained the go-ahead trey in the last 48.5 seconds before the second seed and win-once armed Fighting Maroons held on defensively, stopping the third seed Growling Tigers' final possession with 17.5 ticks left. Nic Cabanero missed his turned around jumper as UP gained possession and ran out the clock.
