00:05to sit down with two men that are all about service and giving back to the community i have
00:09demetrius carrington a beautiful machine magazine and i have horatio williams himself of horatio
00:17william foundation um today we'll be talking about purpose community and this year's gifted
00:22fundraiser fellas thank you so much for coming thank you for having us thank you so you know
00:27i'm a ping back and forth from start with you demetrius okay okay so um we're gonna get right
00:31to it how long have you been doing gifted this is a fourth year for gifted oh nice yep fourth year
00:39okay and this is something that just came up out of the blue or you just was like
00:42well we were doing we we've always had two or three parties a year okay and you know we've been
00:50fortunate that people really appreciate what we do when they show up so we said we need to do
00:55something talking to horatio with the foundation that we need to do something to give back so we
01:03came up with the title gifted and the rest has been history well i love that so how do you guys pick
01:10the organizations with the families um to support the through gifted well in the beginning we we tried
01:18to piggyback with organizations that were newer and needed a little hand up yeah and um we did that
01:27we we had a very good run with uh filthy cares uh filthy rockwell and um we raised a lot of toys
01:34but this year we said hey let's just keep it home yeah you know um we we've been very fortunate at this
01:42foundation that has been supported very well so we were able to share the wealth so to speak but
01:49this year we're going to keep everything in house i love that so it's going down december the 20th
01:53correct um how could people attend or is it too late too late to rsvp well it's yes and no well it's
02:02it's never just uh people can come it's by invitation only and you know we get a lot of
02:09inquiries about you know i get a ton of inboxes i'd like to come i like to come just as just as
02:16a baseline i'm never going to send you the invitation or invite you if you're not following
02:22the magazine this is we celebrate with the people that help us get to this point absolutely so if
02:30someone inboxes me and they're not even following me that's a no-brainer it's not i'm not gonna do it
02:37because um you know on top of the philanthropy portion we need you to get to know our brands
02:45yes and support them it like even with horatio he has things going all year round and a donation of
02:53twenty dollars or whatever could feed a family or whatever absolutely so the people that support us
02:59we support them that's how you gotta show up i think it's only right absolutely you gotta tell
03:06us tell us about the magazine well the magazine is a is a multicultural monthly online magazine okay
03:13where our goal is just to share stories from every walk of life not just you know the the news people
03:22that go to the big time fundraisers or the doctors or you know guys like horatio that yeah get in all
03:29the magazines there was room for other stories just you know incredible things that happen that we
03:37don't really appreciate like dice clark this guy's all over the place i love dice you know tie mopkins
03:45you know i could go on and on and on you know uh the winners network a group of professional women
03:52that are just doing tremendous things yeah and a lot of times they get overlooked perhaps because
03:57you know i don't know why they're not part of the big organizations or the big thing yeah but that
04:03was something that we said we're not going to just watch so we started a magazine so we could
04:09you know take care of our own okay so does each month you feature somebody different yes oh i love
04:14that i love that it's all about the community absolutely tomorrow the new edition drops and it features
04:20uh beverly bill who's a fantastic attorney and entrepreneur so i'm i'm hoping everyone reads
04:27about what she's doing and uh we're just gonna keep it rolling i love it that's how you do it
04:32horatio thank you so much for being here as well you know my first question is how long have you been
04:38doing horatio william foundation since 2002 oh 2002 but we became a 501c3 in 2005
04:48and that's when we started going around asking for funding to help provide free opportunities for
04:55the kids in the community i love it and my goal me and demetrius go back 35 40 years wow so my goal
05:03good friends yeah so my my goal is and this demetrius goal and his passion if you look at the
05:09beautiful machine they have always they always have positive stories you know as an anchor person or
05:15people just looking for news to talk about something right but i love his mission is all
05:21about positive stories embracing other people we had discussions it's not about me it's not about him
05:27it's about people who provide some good in the community so when you look at it like that you
05:33get blessed and you're able to help more and more people because at the end of the day
05:37since he started gifted it was doing covet time people really didn't have anything yeah that's actually
05:42one of the best times when you're in the house you just need some type of motivation i feel like
05:46that's good to see yourself see your own people yep and the great thing about it you you've seen
05:51people that really wanted to come out and help i don't care if it was a small toy a big toy they
05:55really wanted to come out and help because when you got have even have almost 2 000 toys to get to
06:01the community that's a blessing within itself so just being a part of it i know his mission he know
06:08my mission and like i said we go back i mean to our younger years and just being able to give back
06:15and he give great parties great events i ain't gonna cause a party it's an event because when he
06:20do it it's just not a dj and just partying when you go to an event and most people need to follow
06:27his his model when you have event no one should have to pay for it no one should have to pay for
06:34drinks no one should have to pay for food and that's giving the event most people have parties
06:39it's a cash bar yeah a party you got to do this you got to do that but the end of the day
06:44let's reward the people in the community that's giving back so if you can do that
06:48that's just gonna build up our network of people of giving back to the community and we are much
06:53stronger if we all come together yeah and that's the problem this is not an individual sport it's
06:58always a competition exactly so you got to come together you got to collaborate you know and once
07:04you learn how to collaborate we can touch more lives yeah so i know i don't get out like i supposed
07:10to and tell the story because the story is not about me the story is about the community and helping
07:15younger people so i do turn down a lot of interviews because i don't want to talk about me
07:21i already know i'm just a vessel through god and just being they've been blessed with funding
07:27from everywhere and people see my mission and see my cause and see what i want to do and they
07:32want to be a part and i never want to let them down you know this year we had our first hbcu we
07:38brought four hbcu schools here to play yeah they play wayne state grand valley eastern and uod
07:44and the kids had opportunity to do a college fair they had an opportunity to see the band for grand
07:50valley and wilberforce and and central state came and turned it out with their band they had 120
07:56people band come come out there so the band the band alone yeah so at the end of the day is giving
08:03kids experience letting them know this is bigger than your neighborhood yeah this is bigger than
08:09bell isle this is bigger than downtown explore the world and get out and see things so your imagination
08:15can be bigger than just the internet i love that that's powerful and how can people like how can they
08:21give back how can they be a part of your organization both of your both your organization
08:26well the doors the doors are open just go on the website yeah we like demetra said we do at least 10
08:32events we're not one waiting on one big gala trying to fundraise it's not about fundraising with
08:38us it's about branding and letting people know exactly what we're doing out here so i don't want your
08:43money i want you to come and be a part of it so to kick off the party to get the gifted party
08:49yeah that morning we're going to take 10 families and give them 500 and take them shopping at the
08:55myers on eight mile in woodward and we get the kids from the social workers from the school so
09:01they know the kids that's that really need to help a family of four family of three that's struggling
09:07some of them in shelters they just need a little boost and that's what that's what gifted is all about
09:12and and it's christmas time no one should be sitting in the house with no toys or nothing for
09:18these kids yeah i don't care about their situation i don't know their situation but our goal is to give
09:24back to the community and i when he said gifted i'm all in i'm so happy he's been doing this all
09:30one year i couldn't get in it was so crowded you know i'm like all right i'm gonna turn back around
09:34but at the end of the day what they doing over there and i just think people don't acknowledge the
09:40good work that they do when you have a magazine the michigan chronicle is like they always give
09:45out positive stuff yes we don't need to see no more negative news we want to see some positive news
09:51so our mentality can change so oh some people are doing something positive how can i be a part of
09:56that just like you said how can people be a part everybody want to be a part of some positive stuff
10:01something yeah and a lot of people don't want to be a part of bad stuff but sometimes they make bad
10:06decisions right so you can make bad decisions in 90 seconds that cost your life or anything so at the
10:12end of the day it's about us coming together and showing the city of detroit that we can have a very
10:20nice event you got to have a tuck zone a blue or black suit i'll buy a dress code yeah yeah so you got
10:26to show these people how to dress how to come this you know put on some good cologne just come out
10:32to have a great time meet some great people absolutely i love that i love that now i always
10:37say like you're a representation of yourself you know you want to come out you want to you know you
10:40represent yourself represent other people you want to you you might learn from somebody when you go to
10:46something like this if you from what i'm learning is if you go to a beautiful machine event it's an
10:50experience there you go it's not just something you just go through and you just oh hey it's an
10:55experience and not everybody can get into it like you say you got to make sure you're there you're doing
10:58the right things and you're just really looking out for each other because it's hard exactly it's
11:02hard to come together and if we have more of this i think detroit would be not on the rise we would be
11:08the next big thing swinging we were at one point in time but i feel like a lot of people forgot yeah
11:12they forgot and or probably don't have the resources or know where to go so i just love
11:16that you guys are doing this and the fact that it's growing each year yeah he's doing a great job at
11:22it you know he's not he's committed to it so at the end of the day for you to be able to
11:28look at a magazine and you can have somebody every month yeah i want to be a part of your magazine
11:34that's big that's big some people don't want to be a part of certain magazines so if he can make
11:40people feel comfortable with that he didn't have a lot of celebrities on the magazines he didn't told
11:45the story and i'm just happy with the with the um gifted thing he had monty holland i've been knowing
11:50monty we've been dressing since we was kids we have his break now he's at macy's he's all over
11:57and he's been working at it and monty i have a jogging suit on and if i don't see a tie with it
12:03he ain't dressing you know so he all about fashion i call him for stuff if i want to wear something
12:09somewhere and is he isn't he dressing all the guys yeah he's dressing uh all the all the guys for
12:16for the party oh yeah and uh we we've been very fortunate um christian louboutin is sending us some
12:23shoes oh um we have less stanford um we got detroit auto show uh my man donnie over holland's way freight
12:34help us put this all together we got the number one uh african-american-led foundation in the country
12:42my man horatio yes um and we just have a good time you know is we got chef bobby providing the uh
12:51the food and beverage dj highlight that's going to be doing the music this year he's going to take
12:58us all the way back through the 90s golden age of hip-hop and uh the place is beautiful very cool
13:06location um and we're just going to have a good time you know um i'm i'm actually energized you know
13:13i haven't been energized about these parties because they take it takes a lot of energy i can't even
13:19imagine what you have to go through each year absolutely off absolutely and but for some
13:24reason i feel energized about this yes you know and um you know it's just been a great year you know
13:32like he said we just did the hoops and culture uh i there's a guy on my life right now who said
13:38horatio was the reason he got a four-year right four-year scholarship
13:42he just said that about you right now they don't even know when you make it no yeah that's a beautiful
13:51thing so it's it's hard not to be energized because see i see the things that most people don't yeah he
13:57won't tell you but he buys groceries for families he pays rent he pays this he does that and how can i
14:06sit and watch that kind of love and and brotherhood and not be motivated to do it absolutely so um
14:14i'm really looking forward to us doing a lot uh in the community with this hopefully uh you know we
14:20we get a lot of toys and and uh there's some kids that you know you never know what a toy can do to a
14:27kid does everything yes especially for those that don't have yeah you know especially maybe their
14:32favorite toy yeah right it could be something didn't even know they needed until they had it
14:37exactly you know and it was so it was so funny because a few years ago you know the media comes
14:44out and follows and well you know the toys are being distributed and this guy says something i never
14:50thought about it we gave this kid a football right yeah he looked at this football like it was just a
14:56a gold block or something and he said this football could possibly lead this kid to a scholarship into
15:05a pro football career or whatever you just never know you never that's like giving a girl one of those
15:11easy bake ovens i could turn her into a restaurant you never know like for me i got a book about louie
15:20armstrong when i was in elementary i started playing trumpet that led me into the entertainment
15:26business and the promotion business and now the publishing business so you never know what could
15:33happen so it's not just a toy yeah it's a vessel for something even if it's just a vessel for them to be
15:40happy that day so it's just it's something so small can definitely grow into something beautiful when you
15:46went when we when i saw those kids that came out on the porch and got a toy i knew it was bigger than
15:52that toy you know they like some of these like we were having people like the grandmothers crying like
15:59i didn't know what i was gonna do you know and i'm just happy we were there yeah because a lot of
16:05people don't know like this time of the year a lot it's hard to come around with all the different
16:10holidays you got thanksgiving then boom christmas and you're just thinking how am i going to afford
16:14especially what they want especially when you have a family on a fixed income yes and you know
16:19and i applaud families that are on fixed income because i don't know how they make that money stretch
16:25out like that and survive for a whole month into the next money come yeah but the end of the day
16:31when you bless and i say this to everybody's listen when you bless reach out and help somebody else
16:37so you never know the tables can turn and it's it's never about you because when it's about you
16:42you you you're not doing the right thing you know my success is just not about me it's about making
16:48everybody in this room successful right if everybody in this room successful now we can help grow another
16:53six people then we can help get another six and hopefully they can take the tools that they have
16:58that they learned from me you or anyone they can pass it on my thing is about passing this knowledge on
17:05so i have to listen to the young guys at age you can't keep coming here with soup so i don't look
17:09like a preacher i'm like all right i'm fine with that now they got me wearing jogging pants the
17:14different gym shoes and stuff but be active exactly but at the end of the day i see their vision
17:21and i see what they need so we got to cater to them too so it's just once you get the concept out
17:27your mind it's not about you a whole lot of good things will come to you because you open up the
17:34doors to accept any blessings or any any positive stuff to come to you when you close down it don't
17:41work that's why sometimes i don't interview with different organizations because if i feel your mission
17:48is not genuine to me i don't want to be a part of it at the end of the day so when i walk out of there
17:53anybody walk in this room i want you to feel like i treated you like you wanted to be treated
17:59so you'll want me back i don't want to say well what he was i he just rubbed me the wrong way right
18:05but at the end of the day we got to treat people the way we want to be treated in a beautiful machine
18:10i mean we did the first party i got on it we had alicia myers come out and sing and it was at the old
18:16temple place on jefferson and players play players yeah it was called the players club it was the
18:21players club players club yeah it's an old castle on jefferson and it was beautiful and every since
18:27then it's just me just been taking this thing to the next level and i applaud him because it's hard
18:33to write a story it's hard to write a story y'all all off into this you somebody gotta give you something
18:39to write the story right exactly so if you don't have a picture or nothing how much to go the story
18:44it's hard at the end of the day i'm just looking to have a great time i usually don't go to the
18:48parties but i'm gonna be there i'm gonna be ready this year like you said i'm excited i'm
18:52gonna have my tux together yeah i'm excited for you i'm like dang this is big and it's growing
18:57each year i'm just so excited when i see it on social media i'm just like okay it's happening i
19:02know every time when it gets cold i know it's coming it's coming back around you know i've been
19:07i've been really avoiding making it bigger really well we'll see because it's just from the party
19:14aspect of it okay you have to control the quality and we're a boutique operation we have a very
19:24strict like idea of of what we're doing i'm not really interested outside of our ideas so
19:34everyone beautiful machine is not for everybody i say that all the time and i mean it and i don't
19:40mean to sound arrogant or whatever but those are the facts nothing is for everybody you know what
19:46i mean yeah so um i just don't want it to get so big that it loses its integrity you know i don't
19:54want it to get so big that it's not a beautiful machine party and it's just a party a party you know
20:00what i mean because it like in my mind to throw a good party i i put together things to make people
20:09feel like i want to feel like i want to be around beautiful women so we create an atmosphere for
20:17beautiful women to be attracted to yeah i want to be around gentlemen i don't want to be around guys
20:22that's got a gun and soon as you look at them you want to shoot you boys that's not even like in my
20:29in my mind you know so we put together atmospheres where gentlemen come and treat the ladies like
20:36ladies no one's grabbing your arm while you walk in but we don't play that we throw two or three
20:42people out every year because of that and they're never people that we invite they're always coming
20:48with other people so the quality control is really really important yes and when you get so big
20:57you it's hard to do so you know every year we argue because i say look we capping this at 200 this
21:04year i don't care and then you know no we can't do it we can't do it you know so it gets bigger but
21:10we're i'm gonna make it just a little bit bigger because it's it's it's you know i don't know just
21:17come early guys that's all i'm gonna say especially if you get an invite yeah i just think it's a great
21:22thing for the holiday yes and people never always say this man demetrius sit down and talk all that we
21:30we argue back and forth how can you give an event and you charge somebody can't do that how can
21:35somebody give an event i'm invite you somewhere you got about your dream can't do that all right
21:40so let's figure out how we can talk to some odd people and get this thing where it's supposed to
21:45be at he the one set the trend people really don't give him enough credit enough credit for what
21:52he does he the one demetrius was the one with biggie small when he said detroit players the
21:58gators and stuff that's demetrius the gators all right so he brought him in town biggie small he
22:06showed he made biggie feel the way he want everybody feel at this party biggie was supposed to leave in
22:11two days he was here for two weeks okay now you come out you got a rapper jeezy he's selling out arenas
22:18by having people dressed up that's something he started with the beautiful me beautiful machine
22:23now you got to come to a party you got to be dressed up so now he's setting the trend he really a trend
22:28setter but everybody's not ready for his imagination because he done seen this and did this before
22:33so we want people to come out and have a good time it's gonna be a real party it's not
22:39no don't you need how to bring your wallets just come out and have a great it's a beautiful thing
22:43because like you said bars exactly alone it's hard i mean that's one of the main reasons why
22:47i don't really like to go out because it's just like dang i'm spending 40 50 dollars on a drink
22:52two drinks i didn't two drinks and i'm not even where i want to be yeah well we're gonna give you
22:57at least three drinks oh see look you you'll get three drink tickets don't be wobbling out of here
23:02you you you'll get a little you'll get a little something to put on your stomach and you you have a
23:07great time you don't worry about spending a dollar i think that's the best part bring bring some valet
23:12money i don't control the valet well that's only right i mean you gotta tip tip your valet okay make
23:17sure you do that and it's an experience like i say whenever you are able to connect with a beautiful
23:21machine event and experience is what you leave having so i'm just really excited for you um i know
23:28this is going to be out the park all right are you coming can i come no i'm there i'm there you
23:35only got to ask me i'm trying to figure out what i'm gonna put on yeah so that's what the party is
23:39about younger women like you and younger men like john over there so y'all can know when y'all
23:45when y'all want to give a party go to the next level it's not about the price it's not a it's not
23:50a party if you got to pay to get in i'm learning like you're teaching me so at the end of the day
23:54we're giving you guys a event we want everybody to come and be a part of the event and we pray to
23:59god everything go off right but we got some surprises coming in here so we just want y'all to come
24:05with down and have a good time well i'm excited for it i know that you guys have been partnered
24:08for many many many years yes are we are you guys going to continue to work or do we have something
24:15in the future coming up with you guys after this interview i'm never talking to him again oh my god
24:22i'll put a lot of pressure on you no we got a whole bunch of plans i mean oh i'm excited um
24:28um we're going to bring a polo match to the city you know we we we we had this scheduled a few years
24:36ago and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get people to let horses run on their grass
24:44so oh my god on their grass on the grass i thought that would be no okay i mean that's that's the reason
24:51it didn't happen because of that so we finally found a location nice and um we're going to do a
24:58great activation with that and we're gonna i'm working on some other stuff that you know big parties
25:05um okay because that's my background is is entertainment so we're going to do some big stuff
25:11and um you know just keep it going everything i do will have a charitable component to it okay um but
25:19everything won't be free and some things will be for profit but we'll still give money back so i think
25:27that in order for us to be a world-class city you have to have world-class entertainment yes and you
25:34have to have world-class retail the retail is trickling in slowly so we need to get the entertainment
25:41stuff coming absolutely you know what i mean it is just we need to be the reason someone said let's
25:47go to detroit this weekend because of blah blah blah like atlanta or new york or whatever florida
25:53you know five cities in florida people say that about all the time so i just want to do my little
25:59small part to make that happen i love that i think you're doing it you're already doing it
26:05and it's just like it's gonna be a lot of people that's gonna follow behind both of your footsteps
26:09yeah hopefully and that's the and you know and that's the goal
26:12you know there's no reason to have all this knowledge and don't pass it down and a lot of
26:17times i see a lot of guys my age don't pass it down get this knowledge to these young guys get these
26:25young people you know give them experience so they can understand what they're supposed to be
26:29i've been fortunate enough to travel all around the world and see and see different things so now i
26:34understand what event really supposed to be like you know so at the end of the day that's what we want to
26:40do is give everybody experience before the holiday then after that the kids come and get experience
26:44and get some free toys yeah so it's a win-win i love that everybody leaves happy exactly it was something
26:51they didn't know they were gonna have or need so anybody that's listening right now that wants to

27:18the party ain't the only thing is free all our programs are free right cna cna right yeah we got
27:25a cna program which we sponsor at least 100 kids a year we have a janitorial program we work on we had
27:32a culinary arts program which we'll start up my brother max passed away two two years ago and um
27:39two or three years ago and we want to start the program up it was it was something that really
27:43hit us hard you know we was not expecting and during covert he probably put out 400 000 meals
27:50yeah doing covert you know over at the kitchen at cnn over there so it's a lot of positive
27:57programs that go on and we want to brace all of them this is not about the horatio williams
28:01founder this is not about the beautiful machine how can we bring everybody together and they can see
28:07that it's not about us it's about us educating everybody how to do this right so at the end of
28:13the day it's all about educating you have this young man over there john he's a big artist now i've been
28:19knowing him be when he was taking pictures but he's a famous artist now you know he's got murals at
28:24university of michigan he got them all over now he got some drawings that went global so at the end of
28:31the day is showing him showing some more young guys so hopefully when he get done he can grab some
28:36younger guys take them under his wings too because it just wasn't given to him you got to have an
28:41imagination to do this yes you know you can't get all this off the phone you gotta you gotta have
28:47an imagination of this things that you saw that you can vision he's an artist so he can see some
28:52enjoy which we wouldn't think much of it until he explained to us what it is
28:57so once he explained to us what it is and now it's like whoa okay so at the end of the day just
29:05this is our city this is our state this is our town we we all about the community this is not when i
29:13do events is about branding the beautiful machine is about branding so it's not about how we get
29:18somebody and make a dollar that's not that's not the object so if we can keep all these programs for
29:23free and people want to donate to the programs we're not going to turn down a funding oh no
29:28that's right because we can service more kids at the end of the day instead of us taking 10 families
29:33at 500 if you want to bring some money and somebody listening if you want to come and adopt a family
29:38for 500 go on the website meet us at myers we had a family there with you you walk through them you talk
29:44you talk to the family see how they live and see what's going on with them see if you can help
29:48and it's not just a one-day thing you may want to help them all through the year and check up on the
29:53kids so it's not just a shopping spree i'm tricking them with the shopping spree but i want them to
30:00build a relationship with the family that's big that's actually bigger than exactly you can actually
30:07think you think you're just coming in just helping just doing a little bit but when you leave with
30:11a bond exactly the kids want your phone number the kids if if there's no mail in the house and you got
30:17a mail walker with them the boys can relate to them or the girls can relate to them they probably
30:22say mama can we call him or he may want to do something on easter for him yeah it's a lot of
30:27holidays you got to dress up thanksgiving easter so it's all about us just putting a platform out
30:34there and letting letting people and i already said i'm 58 i probably got 25 more good summers i'm giving
30:40all this knowledge up everybody have it you know you need to write a book if you haven't already i
30:45mean invest i wouldn't invest on that they've been on me about that i mean it's so much wisdom as you
30:50just you speak it so fluently so freely i'm just really blessed that you're here and i'm able to
30:55witness this in the flesh because um it's a beautiful thing and it's not a lot of people that are
31:01motivating young people or just showing them that they have the tools that they are that they never
31:06really had like you already have it use it you know i'm saying find the resources you don't have
31:11to dive into the phones or the tablets all the time or feel like you don't have anything nobody's
31:16listening but some of them need to know where the opportunity is that absolutely all are opportunists
31:22oh man so we just need an opportunity yeah so once we get the opportunity now you got to take it around
31:27i got the opportunity of doing transportation i've been doing that 35 years so i made money there and i
31:33said how can i help the community demetrius was there boom i went back started feeding families
31:39helping went back to my old middle school where he did the gym i took the foundation camp from a week
31:45to three weeks then i took him to see the point and the last time we went to see the point for
31:49covid we took 875 people 875 people that young man said he got a scholarship i bet he went to see the
31:56point with us so my thing is how do i reward y'all right at the end of the day so if you come to the
32:02summer program i adopt some more programs and we take them free and i go out there and beg with
32:08the organization say hey give these kids opportunity to get out the state of michigan yeah because a lot
32:13of kids never even been outside and they don't pay for nothing we feed them we barbecue they we got
32:19food everything they come out every two hours and eat now they want to buy some ice cream do what they
32:23want that's fine on them that's but nobody gonna come to our event and gonna be hungry and say they did
32:29not eat we're not doing that see that's not a part of it that's not part of the trip you can't have
32:36a picnic with no food you know so at the end of the day it's it's all about us passing this knowledge
32:43on to this young man to you and whoever is listening want to be a part they already know

33:23for relief okay in one word each uh what does giving back mean to you in one word what does giving
33:32back mean to you blessings i love that blessings an unforgettable moment it's not one word i know
33:42i couldn't do it in one word an unforgettable moment because you never you never again will see
33:49the expression that person have that you gave them something it can be the littlest thing and i'm
33:56leading you with this story i took four kids back in when was that 2019 to a pistons game i gave each
34:08one of them 20 dollars it was three of them i said go get y'all something to eat all of them came back with
34:15the pop and chips i said where the hot dogs i gave you 20 dollars he said a hot dog was seven dollars i
34:21can buy three packs of hot dogs it changed my mindset uh he was thinking about his family yes it wasn't
34:28just about him so i feel my message got delivered to him don't just think about yourself think about
34:35when he got home he can go buy them hot dogs everybody in the house can eat and we take it for
34:40granted because we go buy popcorn hot dogs all day when you go to a game but that money goes a long
34:47way with these kids and them kids don't forget about that no they do not forget about it so when you have
34:53moments like that unforgettable moments like that it make you reevaluate yourself yourself so i go
35:00everybody go in this room is to be a better person absolutely every day that's how i go to be a better
35:06person i'll be a better father i don't have a better spiritual relationship with god i i ask for
35:11forgiveness every day so at the end of the day that's that's the positive stuff that we want to
35:17the message we want to give to everybody adults kids and everybody i love it that's a beautiful way to
35:22end it that's what you're going to experience when you go to gifted fundraiser i got one more thing i
35:28want to say absolutely please we're doing two new magazines okay i just want to tell everybody to be on
35:35a lookout we have partnerships with other people we're doing a a fashion magazine
35:43it's going to be incredible it's going to be incredible we're going to blend men and women
35:47fashion together it won't be just it's fashion and we're doing a food and hospitality magazine
35:55i'm doing that with uh chef bobby i love it and uh latrice delgado macon is our partner on the fashion
36:03magazine so we're going to do some amazing things we're expanding if you have something that could
36:11contribute whether you're a writer or or whatever if it makes sense reach out to us we want to work
36:18with as many people as possible here and uh i just wanted to share that because we're after this party
36:25we're going to go nuts with it and so people people hear about that and uh you know we're just going
36:31to keep doing what we're doing and grow right so you can avoid those uh inboxes when they're blowing
36:36you up how can i be a part of this how can i do this yes everybody have an opportunity and i know
36:42this the end of the story but it wouldn't be right if we don't think some people helped us to get
36:48to this point so everybody helped us we can't call out a bunch of names but you guys know who y'all are
36:55and we want to thank y'all for giving us the opportunity to work with y'all when we was kids
36:59to learn now look where we at so we want to do the right thing and all whoever here is or see it and
37:05they know you guys know who you guys are all right and we want to thank y'all we didn't do this by
37:10ourselves we've been coached we made mistakes but now when you make mistakes you learn so we didn't
37:19learn from some of our mistakes and that's why we giving a gifted free event exactly i'm definitely
37:26i'm definitely thankful that you guys able to make it in and tell us exactly what we need what
37:32we're gonna be missing if you don't come gifted december 20th hopefully it's gonna be bigger and better
