Pre-match press conference with Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank ahead of Tottenham v Brentford in the Premier League, held at Hotspur Way.
Frank discusses facing his former club after nine years at Brentford, the emotional element of seeing familiar players and staff, and why the game still comes down to competing for three points. He evaluates Tottenham’s home form, Brentford’s away struggles, and the improvements Spurs are making through sharper phases of play and greater penetration.
He speaks on the fight shown in midweek, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven’s overhead kicks, squad fitness, and the players’ half-time huddle used to build togetherness. Frank also explains why Keith Andrews has done an impressive job at Brentford, how he’ll handle playing against players he previously signed, and the return of Heung Min Son as a unifying figure for the club.
He gives updates on rotation on the left wing, competition in that role, and the fitness of Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski and teenage forward Mathys Tel, who continues to push for more minutes. Frank also discusses Xavi’s recent form, attitude and chances of starting.
