Post-match press conference with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim after their 4-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League.
Bruno Fernandes scored twice, with Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount also on target for United after Jean-Ricner Bellegarde had levelled for Wolves just before half time. The result moves United up the table and deepens Wolves’ relegation worries after another heavy home defeat.
Amorim explains how his side reacted at half time, says the players realised they had everything to win the game and praises the pace and quality they showed in the second half against a Wolves team in a really hard moment as a club.
He stresses that it does not matter what run United are on or how they played in the last game, only the way they play the next one, and says they sometimes need to find a different way to play, with Bournemouth next described as “a different world”.
He confirms the club are in contact with national teams over the situations of Bryan Mbeumo, Amad and Noussair Mazraoui, and talks in detail about Mason Mount’s form, saying he can defend and attack, that the quality when he touches the ball is really good, and that he is a different type of leader who leads by example every day around Carrington.
Amorim also picks out Ayden Heaven for praise, calling him really hard to beat and highlighting his adaptation in the centre with Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire both carrying problems.
