Pre-match press conference with Liverpool head coach Arne Slot ahead of Liverpool v Brighton in the Premier League at Anfield.

Slot confirms he will speak to Mohamed Salah this morning and says the outcome of that conversation will determine how things look tomorrow, adding that he has no reasons not wanting Salah to stay but insists the next time he speaks about him should be with the player, not in public.

Slot reflects on being unbeaten in four and praises the team’s work rate and resilience with limited availability, while welcoming Alisson back and crediting Giorgi Mamardashvili for doing a good job in his absence.

He confirms Federico Chiesa is no longer ill, trained yesterday and is expected to be back in the squad, but says Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo have muscle injuries and Wataru Endo has an ankle injury, with all three set to be out for weeks.

Slot also discusses Liverpool’s home form, the more direct approaches opponents use against them and how his side must adapt, plus a knock for Alexander Isak and the continued development of his partnership with Hugo Ekitike.

00:00Arne, while you're in Milan, Mo posted a picture for himself training alone.
00:03What's the situation this weekend? Will he be involved?
00:06If not, does that mean he's playing his last game for Liverpool?
00:10I will have a conversation with Mo this morning and the outcome of that conversation determines
00:18how it will look tomorrow.
00:20What do you need from him to resolve the situation then?
00:23What I need is a conversation with him and
00:26I think the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here.
00:35You can keep on trying but there's not much more to say about it that I speak to him today.
00:39Like I said, the outcome of that conversation determines how things will look tomorrow.
00:46Can I just ask though, is part of the issue asking him to do more defensively?
00:51No, you can try it in multiple ways, but I think I just said that
00:58the next time I speak about him should be with him.
01:05And we've spoken a lot in the last week after the Sunderland game.
01:11I think there have been a lot of conversations between
01:14uh, his representatives and ours, our representatives and him between him and me
01:21um, after the Sunderland game.
01:23Um, and, and today I will speak to him again.
01:26Have you had an apology though, or do you need an apology?
01:30Might be the last one.
01:32Normally, I would say you've had your three questions.
01:34I think this is the fourth or the fifth.
01:35But, uh, same answer again.
01:39Do you want Mo to stay here?
01:41Like I said, uh, another, uh, way of asking it.
01:45But, um, the, the, the next time I talk about Mo should be with him.
01:51And I have no reasons not wanting him to stay.
01:54If that is, um, a little bit of an answer to your question.
01:58Thanks.
