Transcript
00:00The Electric State has such beautiful source material. Simon is here tonight.
00:03Can you talk a little bit about which elements were so important to keep present in the film?
00:08I think it was the theme of the book. The book is a really profound theme around technology.
00:15And I think it's about being kind and staying connected to each other on a human level
00:21and not losing ourselves in technology. That was the most important thing to us. That's what spoke
00:27to us. We have kids that are all Gen Z. They're part of the technological generation. And we made
00:34this movie for them. That's why it's got a broad family appeal to it. We wanted the generations
00:40most impacted by technology to actually see the film. Absolutely. And I mean, it speaks to how
00:45much people love collaborating with you guys. I think there are like at least five, well,
00:50five Marvel actors, a bunch of people you've collaborated with before. Are you looking to
00:55pull someone from this movie over to? I can't tell you. Even if we were going to,
01:02we couldn't tell you. I will say, look, the cast in this movie is amazing. We, you know,
01:07we, we pinch ourselves that we were able to assemble so many wonderful actors. We'd love
01:11to work with all of them again and again and again. Yeah. I like the use of the word assemble.
01:14Nicely done. So you are, you are diving in and I got to ask about Avengers because I'm just so
01:20fascinated by it. I, you know, I'm thinking back to civil war when you guys were, you got,
01:24you guys brought in black Panther and, and Spider-Man and made these big castings that ended up having
01:29such a big impact. Are, what are you looking for new faces for, for these next two films? And what are
01:34you looking for? I mean, that would probably be giving too much away, but you know, I think,
01:39I think we're always looking for new faces because there's always new stories to tell.
01:45And, and, you know, I think, I think these movies are going to be a surprise to people.
01:53We found a way into the story. That's very exciting to us, but we think very radical.
01:59And I think it's going to challenge audiences. I love that. And, and with the electric state,
02:04you know, is this kind of a one and done thing you've always wanted to do, or do you see it as a
02:07jumping off point for, for more stories from this world? Look, our, our, our favorite stories
02:11throughout our lives, favorite films have always been those movies that create a whole world for
02:16you to live in and swim in and imagine and dream in. So we tried to create that with the electric
02:21state. We don't have any specific ideas to follow this film with another one, but we do,
02:26there is a game that we've developed that's connected to this movie that, yeah, Netflix will
02:31release a Netflix games. We were thinking about a series there. The world was designed to be
02:37explored and hopefully we'll get to explore it. Like I never thought I'd see RDJ as doom.
02:41Who knows what'll happen? Yeah, exactly. Who knows? Thank you guys so much. Thank you.
