00:00Good God, girl, we're in the makeup trailer.
00:02I mean, you know, buttoned up to here and everything.
00:05But God, did she have style?
00:07Did she have design?
00:08Could she walk into a room?
00:09I mean, her skirts were so wide she couldn't get through the door.
00:13And little cinch belts.
00:15But she had such amazing look at life and an incredible ability to care.
00:20But also tenacity.
00:22We're here.
00:23Powerful women.
00:24What do powerful women do?
00:26You lose at love.
00:29You have issues around your life.
00:31You have issues in growth and what we have to do.
00:33But we keep moving along.
00:35One step in front of the other, in front of the other.
00:38It's the only way we make it.
00:41Don't let things knock you down.
00:42Because they will.
00:44But whatever we believe in, whatever we want, whatever we want to do, do it.
00:48It's up to us.
00:49And that's who she was.
00:51A few things didn't work out for her.
00:53Love didn't always work out for her.
00:56What did she do?
00:57She said, God damn it, I want to have a kid.
00:59I want to have a baby.
01:00I want to do that part.
01:01And she did.
01:02And I was so lucky.
01:03Because I was able to meet Dexter on her first days of life when she brought her to the trailer.
01:09So I was able to hold her and see a whole new world or imagine opening up for Diane of being a mother and what it means to be a mother, adding to the all aspects of who she was as a human.
01:22So the last day when we made the movie, we had our feet up on the table and extolling how exciting it was that we won and it was the end of the movie, meaning it was the end of the story.
01:35And I had my feet up on the table and I said, Diane, you know what we should do?
01:44I said, when we get old, why don't we live together?
01:48And we can swim in the pool, we can drink wine, it'll all be great.
01:58She went, yeah, yeah.
02:00And, um, that never happened.
02:07Well, I couldn't leave Kurt anyway, so.
02:11But I just want to say that she's like a lightning bug, like a little lightning bug that would light up over here and you'd go try to catch her.
02:25And then she'd light up over there and you'd go, oh, you'd try to catch her.
02:27But you wouldn't catch Diane.
02:31She was on a journey.
02:34She never looked back.
02:36And she is a pure, pure, whatever you want to call it, you call it stars, whatever.
02:43But I think that she is a star.
02:47And if we can have a fantasy, which I do, is that stars are really people who died a long time ago that did something really good for the world.
02:55So, I think maybe that's where she is right now.
03:05You
