00:00Taylor Swift is heading to one of Hollywood's biggest nights and Skydance is dancing for Wall
00:04Street. I'm Chris Gardner, senior writer at The Hollywood Reporter, and this is THR News.
00:09Taylor Swift is adding another huge night to her calendar. I'm desperate to see what it actually
00:14looks like and how many places she has to be this month, but this one's for Hollywood. The
00:18superstar has been booked to perform at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 17th.
00:24People say it's the Met Gala of the West Coast, and this adds a lot of star power to that,
00:28so
00:28she's going to close this fundraiser, which honors Charlize Theron, Coleman Domingo, and the
00:32legendary John Carpenter this year. But here's where it becomes interesting. Swift is in this
00:38year's Oscar conversation for that great original song from Toy Story 5. So a performance at one of
00:44Hollywood's biggest award season gatherings in October. Let's just say the timing is really
00:50interesting, and I'm here for it. Hollywood met with Wall Street this week, and Skydance brought
00:54some props. We're talking Forrest Gump sneakers, Harry Potter's glasses, and even Maverick's
01:00helmet. They were all on display at the New York Stock Exchange, where Skydance leaders David
01:05Ellison and Yanan Kraiz rang the opening bell. But the real challenge starts now after this photo
01:11op. The company is looking to find $6 billion in synergies. We all know what that means, cutbacks,
01:16while growing a business still heavily dependent on declining linear TV. So what's the message to
01:23investors? Skydance has a plan. Now Wall Street just wants to know if they can deliver. Now if
01:29you're like me and you feel like Ben Affleck has been all over your feed this week, you're not
01:33wrong and let's not complain. There's a really good reason for that. His new crime thriller Animals is
01:38now streaming on Netflix and in select theaters. Affleck directed, co-wrote, and stars in the film
01:44alongside Kerry Washington, who plays his wife, and Gillian Anderson, who plays a ruthless political
01:49fixer. Sound familiar? Well, at the premiere, Kerry Washington told THR she was really grateful that
01:55Ben didn't automatically cast her as the fixer, given her iconic role as a fixer named Olivia Pope
02:01on Scandal. It's funny because Ben says that a lot of people, when they hear about the movie,
02:05they assume that I'm playing the fixer character and I really am grateful that he could hold space
02:10for my range and to be able to play another character. But it was funny when when Gillian
02:14first got out of the car in her all white, I was like, what is happening right now? Why is
02:19she wearing
02:19all white? Olivia Pope fans, you know exactly what she's talking about. What happens when Ted Lasso
02:25meets one of the greatest players in women's basketball? You get a pretty great conversation.
02:30Jason Sudeikis and WNBA superstar Brianna Stewart sit down for this latest episode of THR's Game
02:36Recognize Game. You're like the Jennifer Aniston of the WNBA. Period. Beyond Jennifer Aniston and being
02:42the best at what she does, the two talk about everything from the pressures of Saturday Night
02:46Live to UConn, social media trolls, winning championships, and even the future of women's
02:52sports. Sudeikis even reveals how watching Stewart and the New York Liberty helped inspire the newest
02:57chapter of Ted Lasso. So you guys can watch the full episode of Game Recognize Game right now
03:02on the Hollywood Reporter's YouTube channel. Now finally, Hudson Williams has a shiny new gig as a
03:07Bulgari brand ambassador joining Zendaya and Hathaway and Florence Pugh from hockey jerseys to
03:13high jewelry. Now that is one serious glow up we can all get behind. For more on all these stories
