00:00The UN Refugee Agency says it's deeply alarmed as escalating attacks in northern Mozambique
00:07forced tens of thousands to flee.
00:09More than 100,000 people have escaped their villages in just the past week,
00:14with violence now spreading into districts once considered safe.
00:19It's the fourth massive influx that Mozambique has faced in the last months
00:27and resources are now really missing.
00:31The response is insufficient.
00:33People need, of course, assistance.
00:35They need food.
00:36They need shelter.
00:38They need water.
00:39They need support.
00:42And they arrive traumatized.
00:44Mental health is absolutely a requirement here too.
00:48And, of course, the capacity is not there.
00:50The host communities are already overwhelmed.
00:53And as a result, they live in community shelters.
00:56They live in classrooms.
00:59Every morning, we see a new group of women coming to us to complain that they have been victims of sexual assault during the night.
01:07So here, solidarity is required, international solidarity is required,
01:12so that we can bring to the people the most urgent humanitarian assistance,
01:18I would even say life-saving assistance.
01:20The Cabo Delgado conflict has already displaced 1.3 million people.
01:25And in 2025, the violence is spreading into Nampula and Niasa,
01:29threatening communities that once offered refuge.
