Tens of Thousands flee northern Mozambique following intensified attacks

00:17According to the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs,
00:20attacks by armed groups between 20th and 28th July trigger the displacement of at least 46,000 people across the districts of Chiure and Kwabe and Mwidumbe.
00:32Since January, over 95,000 people have fled in security in Cabo Delgado and humanitarian access is becoming increasingly fragile.
00:40Reports indicate a high number of unaccompanied or separate children.
00:44Mozambique has been battling the Islamist insurgency in Cabo Delgado province since 2017.
00:49Government forces have struggled to contain the violence relying on support from troops sent by Rwanda, South Africa and other regional partners.
