A barn fire in Groveland Township, in northern Oakland County, ended with a grim discovery. WWJ's Tim Pamplin reports.

00:00There is what remains of the barn, where the 76-year-old man battling cancer lost his life last night at around midnight.
00:06Fire tore through the barn, turned garage, while his niece and nephew slept in the house right over there.
00:11Here's Springfield Deputy Fire Chief Matt Strickland.
00:14We found remnants of multiple space heaters.
00:19We found at least six, seven propane tanks going off in there.
00:23The fire load inside that barn was pretty significant.
00:27It took a lot of time and a lot of water to knock that down to get it put out.
00:33He had also had multiple vehicles parked in there as well.
00:35So a very tough night in northern Oakland County.
00:37Strickland is urging people not to live in buildings that are not approved for continuous occupancy.
00:42The barn had no smoke detectors.
