05:36And we'll see you next time.
05:38And we'll see you next time, Derek Turner.
06:01I'm the best partner here this last 25 years.
06:04Mark had spotted it in 1998 as a one-down old pub.
06:09And he had this idea that he wanted to make a music venue out of us.
06:12And he approached me and asked me would I be interested in getting involved...
06:16..because I had a background in the music business.
06:19And I couldn't believe it when I went down to see it.
06:21It was in an awful state.
06:22I mean, the roof was falling apart.
06:24The whole place was falling apart.
06:26And I went, yeah, let's do it straight away.
06:28Of course.
06:28Just, it was such a novel idea.
06:31It was just something I couldn't possibly turn down.
06:40Was it a Dockers pub?
06:41It was an old Dockers pub.
06:43The family that owned the pub had been living in it.
06:45So we knocked two bedrooms into one initially.
06:48It was a tiny little folk club of 60 capacity with long benches that you'd see in, like, Hogwarts.
06:55And we were very lucky at the very start.
06:57We had the support of people like Christy Muir, Leonis Ekele, Johnson Balan.
07:04The great Ronnie Drew played two or three shows here.
07:08Brilliant.
07:08And kind of got us started.
07:13And it sounds like you quickly garnered a reputation as an artist venue.
07:18We learnt our trade as we went along, you know.
07:24Sometimes it's the very simple things, like a warm welcome, a decent PA, a good engineer.
07:29And you painted it pink.
07:31I mean, you can see it in space, really.
07:32It's fantastic.
07:33I love it.
07:34It's teary and beautiful.
07:35And it's actually the last colour you expect as you're driving down here.
07:38It's true, true.
07:39You've had some amazing acts perform here, down through the years.
07:44Tell me some of the names you've seen.
07:46Hosier at the beginning, Ellie Goulding.
07:49We had a brilliant show with The Darkness a few years ago.
07:52Wonderful to have her on, and it's full of bands here.
07:55People like Kristen Hirsch.
07:57Had they heard of The Spirit Store?
07:58They wanted to come and play here?
08:00Well, as you know, like, sometimes when an actor's tour, the agent is on.
08:04And obviously, word gets around with some of the major agents that this is a decent place to...
08:08play our trade, I suppose.
08:10It's so inspiring, and I hope that you realise yourself, Mark, how important people like you are
08:16for the community, for the artists.
08:18Where would we go?
08:19Where would we play?
08:20The most important show is the next show.
08:22Oh, yeah.
08:38Bye.
08:39Bye.
08:40Bye.
11:41What do you mean?
11:42It's hard for me, it's hard for me, it's hard for me, the same thing that you repeat.
11:48It's playing constantly, it's constantly, it's constantly, it's things I do, what do you mean?
11:53I'm tiptoeing around, tiptoeing around, I'm trying to have a conversation, but you don't want to hear it.
12:04You shut me down, you shut me down, you shut me down, you shut me down, bulldoze me, just to try to own me, control me, nothing really changes, cause you're not really with me.
12:14Stop, wait, stop, wait, listen, hold that thought, give me a minute, here we go again, I'm second guessing, my head is messing, needs refreshing to see sense again.
12:25If you can't show me where I stand, if you can show me where I stand with you, then let me show you where I'll live without you.
12:36I'm so sick of it's hard for me, it's hard for me, it's hard for me, it's hard for me, the same thing that you repeat.
12:43It's playing constantly, it's constantly, it's constantly, it's constantly, it's deja vu, what do you mean?
12:48Me, me, me, me, me, me, it's what you say when you get wrong, me, me, me, me, me, me, you never change, cause you get strong.
13:06Sweet nothings in my ear, who left the gas on, click, click, blown up, ain't never yuck, fall, strike the match, hot your hand, it's never happenstance, bob, weave, duck, dodge, such a tragic dance, choreo so toxic.
13:18Slice one like brick brick, you did the slickish, treat me like a misfit, flips, grips, prolific like Shonda, that's the meter, say I'm insecure, but I'm fine like Issa, that's evil, no matter how you slice it like freaks, uh-uh, my feelings and emotions in the ether.
13:33True, true, true, what am I to do when you rubber and I'm glue, constantly making it about you, you, you, you, you, no matter what you do, apologies, never see the light, so you constantly repeat it like.
13:44It's hard for me, it's hard for me, it's hard for me, it's hard for me, the same thing that you repeat, it's plain constantly, it's constantly, it's constantly, it's deja vu, what do you mean?
14:06Every time we talk turns back about you, no matter what the problem or the issue, I never get my point across, it don't get through, you never take responsibility, let's see, you always bring it back to me and me, and me and me and me and me and me and me.
14:22We should repeat, repeatedly, repeatedly, yeah.
14:28Oh, oh, oh, oh.
14:58Thank you for joining us.
15:04And we'll be right back.
15:40That's how I believe.
15:43Leave your mommy and come with me.
15:51I cast my eyes on the table
15:54I will be able to move my mind
15:56I will be able to move my mind
15:58And in all my life I will be able to do
16:01And I will be able to do it.
16:05I cast my eyes on a charm
16:08I will be able to make my mind
16:10I will be able to do it
16:12Or always just a star, if you go with anyone, leave your mammy and come with me.
16:42There are young men and many coming to me and from me. They all swear they'll help me, but it's all in vain.
17:01Sure, it's well known to many. I'm in deep love with Jenny. I never will marry till I see him again.
17:08I cast my eye on this charming fair maid in this female hotel in the hand on the mochbree.
17:15Or always just a star, if you go with anyone, leave your mammy and come with me.
17:26Once in my youth was I took a ramble and a full all in famine of triple lockdown.
17:32I asked her kindly if she would marry me, for the mammy is sailing you.
17:40I cast my eye on this charming fair maid in this female hotel in the hand on the mochbree.
17:46Or always just a star, if you go with anyone, leave your mammy and come with me.
17:53Come with me, come with me.
17:54If a gem was I so sorry in her age, come with me.
17:55I put you next to me.
17:56I will quê-carild peace x b una cop-là-braic gifot x bafx arc .
