00:00Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their elders.
00:03We pass through many Aboriginal nations and we recognise the continuing connection to
00:09country, sea and story.
00:16Hey guys.
00:17Here we are again for another season, mate.
00:19And we've built some new trucks, revamped an old one, brand new one for Simon.
00:24Mate, what truck have you got?
00:25I've got this shiny brand new D-Max, mate.
00:27And have a go at the colour of it.
00:29Oh, mate.
00:30It's an awesome truck.
00:31You should see it.
00:32I've got the white truck.
00:33What are you towing?
00:34I've got the buggy and the smaller tinny, mate.
00:36So if we want to get in some small creeks, we've got that covered.
00:38Oh, you've got that brand new CF Moto.
00:40I've got the big girl.
00:41Oh, that's pretty cool.
00:43Mate, I've brought the 300.
00:44It's had a full rebuild.
00:46Mate, you should see the canopy on it.
00:48Got so much gear inside.
00:49So is yours.
00:50And I've got the 6.1 CJ.
00:53Good.
00:54We can get offshore and do some serious fishing.
00:55That's the one on the super trailer, the big off-road trailer.
00:58Mate, there's also something that I actually haven't told you just yet.
01:02And you're probably wondering already because he's been sniffing around.
01:05But we've got a new guy coming with us on this run.
01:09And he's a young fellow.
01:10His name's Mitch.
01:11You know him.
01:12I know Mitch.
01:13Mitch is a good lad.
01:14And the best thing about Mitch, he's good at fixing stuff.
01:16So I won't have to touch a single spanner.
01:18Is that right?
01:19Thank you, mate.
01:20But we've had to rebuild your old green truck.
01:23Yep.
01:24Yep.
01:25And that's what he's going to be driving.
01:26That's a good truck, that truck.
01:27He's got plenty of growing.
01:28Yeah, it has, mate.
01:29It's a good little truck.
01:30So let's go and meet Mitch, the new guy rocking up for this season of All 4 Adventure here in
01:36Arnhem Land.
01:37Where the hell is he?
01:38Hello.
01:39Here he comes.
01:40There he is.
01:41Here he comes now.
01:42He's taking it easy in my car.
01:43Yeah.
01:44That's your old car, mate.
01:45I don't know.
01:46You won't even recognize it.
01:47How you going, mate?
01:48Too bad.
01:49Just been waiting for you.
01:50Too bad.
01:51Well, you made it.
01:52At least you made it.
01:53I'm here.
01:54Well, you and I, mate, we spent some big nights putting trucks together.
01:58We certainly did.
01:59Especially Simon's new Flash truck.
02:01Oh, mate.
02:02That was a walk-up start for Simon.
02:03It was like, where do I put my bag in the new car?
02:06So yeah, walk-up start.
02:08But yeah, we finally got all the gear.
02:10You had to finish off the last little bit on this green truck.
02:12Oh, mate, I was down on the fine wire of getting that done, mate.
02:15Yeah.
02:16There's been some time spent on that thing, getting that down, getting that done.
02:18Yeah, it was a bit of a mess after Simon's last year.
02:20You didn't fix that dint though, mate.
02:22Well, he couldn't fix everything.
02:24We tried, mate.
02:25We tried.
02:26We're gonna go and explore this place.
02:28It's called Arnhem Land, and it is off the beaten track.
02:42We tried to get the wrong track.
02:43Go, Maxie, go.
02:44Go, Maxie.
02:45Go.
02:46Go, Maxie.
02:47Go.
02:48Go.
02:49Go.
02:50Go.
02:51Go.
02:53Well, we've made it this far.
02:53Now about here we are, boys.
02:58Well, we've made it this far.
03:05Here we are, boys.
03:08The edge of Arnhem Land.
03:09Look at that for a view, eh?
03:10Look at that, eh?
03:11It's not bad.
03:12Branker.
03:13Out there, mate, is off the beaten track Arnhem Land.
03:17Well and truly off the beaten track.
03:18Look, there's no tracks at all.
03:20Nah.
03:21The thing about Arnhem Land, it's remote, and it's not a big tourist destination.
03:27So 700km that way of dirt road, sometimes good, sometimes bad, most of the time probably
03:34bad.
03:35I hope there's a survey along the way.
03:36And we need something in between for a little top-up of juice, otherwise we ain't gonna make
03:40it.
03:41We won't quite make it.
03:42So we might as well start this epic journey by moving forward instead of backwards, so
03:48let's get going.
03:49Danny, looking at the view, I ain't gonna do it, buddy.
03:51Let's go.
03:52Let's go.
03:57Boys on Channel back there?
03:59What's going on up there?
04:01Plenty of dust.
04:02I keep seeing these signs, water over road, but there's just dust.
04:06Yeah, I think the water's gone, mate.
04:08They haven't collected their signs.
04:10Mitch back there, can you see him?
04:12Mate, I'm so excited for this, you've got no idea.
04:15I've been pupped for the last couple of days, mate.
04:18Yeah, copy that.
04:19She's a bit of a mish to get out there, you've got to do a fair slog on these dirt roads.
04:24And that section through back there was a little bit rough.
04:27It certainly was, mate.
04:28It was a bit of a taste tester, I guess.
04:30We're fuel up.
04:31This is our last fuel for a while.
04:35Last diesel right here.
04:38We've got one pump between all of us.
04:42We've got long-range tanks, but just when you're towing, you burn a bit extra.
04:53Oh, absolutely.
04:54This is what you call driveway service, Simon.
04:56You don't even get down the big smoke, eh?
04:58No.
04:59Those days are gone.
05:00Yep.
05:01We want to get every little drop in here we can, eh?
05:03Because after this, there's nothing until we get to the coast.
05:06We've got a lot of precious cargo on board there, mate.
05:09We do.
05:10You have been, eh, you know.
05:13Look at the new toys.
05:15The new toy, yeah.
05:17I'm in charge of it.
05:18Yeah.
05:19You have been put in charge of the precious cargo.
05:21Otherwise, I'm going to have to hand it over to the young fella, mate, if you can't handle the job.
05:25I can't handle it.
05:26I think we'd better put it on the back of him.
05:31I'll get that away.
05:32So you should have probably about 142 litres now, which is a massive difference between standard and something like, oh, it's almost double.
05:45So we are topped off and back on the track.
05:50But we weren't the only ones on the track.
05:52We'd better move old mate before someone squashes him.
05:55There you go.
05:56It's all right, buddy.
05:57It's all right.
05:58I'll get you off the road.
05:59Here we go.
06:00Come on, mate.
06:01He's not too feisty, this one.
06:05It's a little black-headed python.
06:08Not an olive python, but black-headed.
06:11They do look a little bit ominous.
06:14He wants to have a bit of a chew there.
06:18They won't let him bite me.
06:20He's not going to hurt because he is a python.
06:22But they've got that really small head on them and a big body.
06:25They actually look like a taipan to a little bit.
06:29And they sort of freak people out.
06:31So they tend to drive over them when they're driving across the road thinking, oh, it's a dangerous snake.
06:37And the poor little python is getting a flogging over it.
06:40So I'm going to get him off the road well and truly because we don't want him getting run over.
06:45So come on, buddy.
06:46Let's get you in here.
06:47All right.
06:48Go that way.
06:49Go in that direction.
06:50Look at that.
06:51That way.
06:52You boys back there?
06:53You worked out where I'm going yet?
06:55No idea, mate.
06:56Looks like you're starting to go off the beaten track though.
06:58Yeah, I know a little spot down here we can camp beside the river because it's getting
07:03late in the day and we've been driving all day and there's not much light left.
07:08Sounds good, mate.
07:09I'm just about cooked.
07:11A big day on this trailer.
07:13That could be interesting.
07:15Oh, it's getting a little bit dense down in here.
07:20Lots of jungle and overgrowth.
07:22That's how it begins.
07:24Oh, yes.
07:26Here it is.
07:27The first little crossing.
07:29Oh, it looks very pretty.
07:32It's only shallow.
07:33It's pretty, isn't it?
07:34Look at that.
07:35That second crossing should be just down here, boys.
07:44But I'm just going to stop here.
07:47Right here.
07:49Because I want to go and check it out and I don't want to get stuck down at the riverbank.
07:53It's cranking, mate.
07:54It's cranking.
07:55It's pretty normal, but in the times we've been through here, it's actually always very
08:03similar.
08:04It looks a bit muddy.
08:05Look at that.
08:06Slippery muddy.
08:07As far as I'm going.
08:09Yeah, that's pumping through, eh?
08:10Yeah, I don't want to be looking at that sarve, eh?
08:13No, we don't want to get stuck for sarve.
08:15Although there's a nice spot over the other side there for camping.
08:20Crack it in the morning.
08:21Morning sounds good to me.
08:22Camp up there.
08:23Morning's got my vote.
08:24Alright, we'll hit her in the morning.
08:25Righto.
08:26Copy that.
08:27Keep going.
08:28Mate, it's a tradition traveling across here.
08:30Yeah, 100%.
08:31Yeah, probably.
08:32We do it every year.
08:33Don't lose the plug out.
08:34Not every year, every time.
08:35Every time we come through here.
08:37The morning, I'll tell you what, I didn't expect it, but it's really foggy this morning.
08:49A lot of dew around.
08:51But this wasn't a bad little camp.
08:53A little fire behind us there.
08:55We're going to pack our gear up and we're going to head just down there, literally.
08:59We're only parked a couple of hundred meters away and we're going to go and attempt this crossing.
09:04Hopefully, there's no mister, because we do got to walk it.
09:08Hopefully, old mate hasn't realized that there's going to be some breakfast coming his way.
09:12And you know what I mean, don't you?
09:14We are in Arnhem Land where crocodiles are definitely around here and they're big and they're hungry.
09:22There it is.
09:23What do you want, mate?
09:24A bit of pepper, mate?
09:25Cool.
09:26Every morning, the neighbors come over every morning.
09:31Oh, you got any salt?
09:32You got any pepper?
09:33You got any sugar?
09:35You got any eggs?
09:37Got any milk?
09:38Got any milk?
09:39It's like, oh my god.
09:40You want this out for your breakfast, did you, babe?
09:43Oh, so it's favors we're doing now.
09:46You need your sunnies on.
09:48It's not real deep.
09:49I can see here.
09:50I can see the bottom here.
09:51It's not real deep.
09:52There's no big hole.
09:53Probably the only thing might be down in the guts here.
09:56Maybe a little bit there, but I don't reckon.
09:59How's it look from up there, mate?
10:01Yeah, not too bad.
10:02Looks like it's a bit deeper in through here just before that sand, but that looks alright.
10:07That's the line, mate.
10:08Come on.
10:09Where's the expert line?
10:10I can't see anything under the glare, but I reckon just straight through.
10:15Alright, so I hope I don't get too bogged in the mud at the start.
10:19It's a bit muddy looking, but it's hard bottom.
10:22A bit muddy.
10:23Yeah, mate.
10:24Good to go.
10:25Alright, we're going to dip some toes in the water here and see what happens.
10:30Glub, glub, glub, glub.
10:32Don't get stuck.
10:33Glub, glub, glub, glub.
10:35Alright, might just have a crack, eh?
10:38Yeah, in you go, mate.
10:39Might as well.
10:40Here we go.
10:41Hubs in.
10:42I want that window up.
10:43Here we go.
10:48Oh, she's deep.
10:49She's not mucking around.
10:50Oh, a tidal wave.
10:51Watch it.
10:52It's gravelly.
10:53Got rocks.
10:54Woo-hoo.
10:55I'm in.
10:56And I'm out.
10:57Here we go.
10:58Yeah, that was pretty cool.
11:01He certainly didn't muck around, did he?
11:03Alright, I'm coming in.
11:04Don't he not?
11:07Nice and steady.
11:12Oh, look at that.
11:13Oh, look at that.
11:14Driving through the willow.
11:15Oh, it's and steady.
11:17Me, I like the tortoise, mate.
11:21There's actually a bit of depth in there, top of your tyres.
11:27Yeah, it's good.
11:28Bottom's nice and hard, mate.
11:29Give her the berries, mate.
11:30I forgot Mitch wasn't through yet.
11:31I forgot about him.
11:32Yeah, he hasn't through yet.
11:33Beautiful.
11:34Yeah, it looks a little bit articulated here.
11:35It is.
11:36It's a little bit ugly, but...
11:37Now, we just need to climb out of the creek on the other side.
11:56There he goes.
12:01Ooh, look at that.
12:04She lifted some wheels there.
12:09Ooh, it's going.
12:10There you go.
12:11Ooh, that trailer just carried in there.
12:14What happened there?
12:15That's as far as I'm getting, eh?
12:18What happened there, mate?
12:20I didn't want to punch it too hard, you know?
12:24Brand new winch.
12:25She's a brand spake of that one, mate.
12:27It hasn't even been used yet.
12:29Look at how shiny it is.
12:31Chuck her in there.
12:33Okay.
12:34See if we can get out of this predicament that we are in.
12:36There you go.
12:37There you go.
12:38There he goes.
12:39You know what the problem is.
12:40He's dragging his...
12:41Yeah, that's all right.
12:42No, he's dragging his dizz.
12:43Is he?
12:44Oh, he is too.
12:46He bellied it out.
12:48Mate, you bellied that thing out, eh?
12:51Yeah, there's some horrible smells coming out of this thing.
12:54I'm not loving it.
12:56Yeah, back it off.
12:57Back it off.
12:58He hooked the trailer in.
13:01Yeah, the trailer's pushing through.
13:03He's pushed through a little bit now.
13:05Literally, you're like both wheels doing nothing and the car's just ragging.
13:10Yeah, I think I'd run out of grunt then, though.
13:12I think everything's stopped.
13:14I'll come back.
13:15Too early in the day for this, Garyon.
13:17Yeah, sweet.
13:18I'll pull that back.
13:19So we doubled up the winch pull with the boss ring.
13:23Let's start and take load.
13:27There you go.
13:28It's about to pop up now.
13:29Bloody hell.
13:30That thing was jammed in.
13:32There you go, mate.
13:34We're good.
13:35We're out.
13:36Yeah, that's it.
13:37Beautiful.
13:38Yeah.
13:39Thanks, mate.
13:40Thanks for the assistance there.
13:41It was definitely required.
13:42Yeah, that was pretty good.
13:43Oh, Barb.
13:44Oh, it's work, mate.
13:45That thing's got diff locks, too, hasn't it?
13:46It certainly does.
13:47Diff lock, too.
13:48Diff lock, too.
13:49Rear.
13:50Rear diff lock.
13:51All right, let's get the hell out of here.
13:52That's enough wheeling for today.
13:53All right, let's go.
13:54You're probably wondering what I'm doing.
13:55Well, I'm actually looking forward.
13:56All right, let's get the hell out of here.
13:57All right, let's get the hell out of here.
13:58That's enough wheeling for today.
13:59All right, let's go.
14:00You're probably wondering what I'm doing.
14:11Well, I'm actually looking for a turn off.
14:14You've got to find, it's on the right here.
14:18That's going to take us down onto what they call homelands.
14:23It's the name that they give them.
14:26The country here.
14:27When you go on country, homeland, you're going down to my homeland.
14:31If you've heard that term before, that's what it's called.
14:34Oh, there's a donkey at the top of the road.
14:37Of course there is.
14:40That's us.
14:41That's the turn off.
14:42I'll make the donkey.
14:43He was stopped.
14:44That's right.
14:45You have to turn right at the donkey.
14:47This is the story.
14:48Turn off.
14:49Turn right at the donkey.
14:50Roger.
14:51Apparently.
14:52No.
14:53No, seriously.
14:54I was talking to Nathan.
14:55Nathan is a traditional owner of this homeland.
15:00They call it homeland here.
15:01I had a yarn with him.
15:03He said, look, I so want to come with you boys, but I can't because I've got urgent business
15:09in Darwin.
15:10So if you guys could do a little job for me first up, and I might be able to hook up with
15:15you in a few days' time.
15:17Right.
15:18So that job for us, right, get this.
15:20I need you to find the track, this particular track, and I need you to cut the track down
15:27to an old fishing location that they used to go to.
15:30That's good, because that means no one's been in there.
15:32Mate, that's our mission.
15:33We're going to go and try and find this awesome location.
15:36I think it's a little bit secret.
15:38Sounds good.
15:39Yeah.
15:40So let's head down this track, mate, now that we know where the turn off is, and let's
15:44get cracking.
15:45Have you got the chainsaw?
15:46I've got the chainsaw.
15:47Copy that.
15:50It's been a long time since I've come out here.
15:52Like, it must be five or six years down on this east coast of Arnhem, and I've been
15:58so keen to get back here ever since.
16:00This country is so different to the rest of the top half, where I spent a bit of time
16:05up in that top half, I don't know, northeastern Arnhem.
16:10This is like east Arnhem.
16:13It's spectacular country here.
16:15The water is clear.
16:17There's this boulders, granite boulders, and headlands, and white sandy beaches.
16:23And that's the stuff.
16:25That's the stuff that I'm keen to see.
16:30Looks like our first little obstacle here, boys.
16:33I'm going to go left.
16:36Awesome.
16:37Sounds good.
16:38Oh, it's nothing much, but I'm just going to go left because of the, um,
16:44there's a bit of a drop-off, that's all.
16:49A hole in the ground.
16:54Oh, quite a hole in the deck.
16:57Good to go, mate.
16:58All good with that one?
17:00Still proceeding.
17:02Lucky we've got off-road trailers, I'll tell you now, because...
17:06Oh, I need to be doing some damage.
17:07Wouldn't have wanted to be much deeper.
17:09Yeah, like I'm telling you, it's obviously not out of control, but, you know,
17:14it's a little bit of an articulation, dragging off your chains and stuff.
17:18You'll be dragging some stuff through that.
17:20Yeah, my drill bar cuts the ground.
17:23So, mate, how far down this track before we get to the homeland station-y bit?
17:28I, um, I don't know that distance.
17:32I've got no idea on the distance.
17:33It's not long, probably, I don't know, maybe 10, maybe 10 k's.
17:39Oh, sweet.
17:40So whatever happens, we'll be at the beast tonight.
17:44A little bit of wetness up here.
17:47I might just hit it.
17:49I think it'll be hard bottom.
17:53Yeah, she's alright a little bit.
17:54She's hard underfoot.
17:56Just a little wet session.
17:57Pop her into four-wheel drive.
17:59There's the water.
18:00I see the water.
18:02We're here.
18:05That's pretty nice.
18:08Yeah.
18:09Yeah, not too bad.
18:11I don't know how we're going to go, because it's starting to get a bit soft.
18:15I've got 55 PSI on my tyres.
18:17There's nothing like that.
18:19Oh, look at that.
18:21We are at the beach.
18:23Don't be jazzed.
18:24Here we are.
18:27Here we are.
18:28Alright.
18:31How good's this?
18:33Pretty good.
18:35You can turn the wind down a bit, it'd be good.
18:38Oh, well, these might blow the bugs away.
18:42This is home for the night.
18:44Yes.
18:46We can probably leave the boat here.
18:47It's a bit late in the arvo.
18:48Yeah.
18:49We're going to start working out hatching a plan as to where we're going to, uh...
18:55Go boys.
18:56Yeah.
18:57See you there tomorrow.
18:58I reckon we'll worry about that tomorrow.
19:00But in the meantime, let's set up a bit of a camp and have a cook up.
19:03I'll get rid of this thing.
19:04I've just got to remember to tell the boys to get, uh...
19:08Make sure they get their fishing rods out of the boat to go into the other boat.
19:12And that's why I brought both boats.
19:14Because I knew that sometimes you don't need the big one if you're going to go into the creeks.
19:21And that's where we're going.
19:22We're trying to find a creek over the top of this...
19:25Down in that direction somewhere.
19:27I reckon this is one of those locations where you just...
19:34You just know that it's...
19:36It just feels...
19:39It feels pretty magical, I reckon.
19:41I like that little headland.
19:43There's a little headland there just behind us.
19:45And, um...
19:48I reckon we're going to go up the top there and have a look around tomorrow morning.
19:52What do you reckon, Simon?
19:53Yeah, hell yeah we will.
19:58Hey Mitch, what's for dinner?
20:00What do you want for dinner?
20:01I think I need a beer before dinner, mate.
20:03Alright, all.
20:09You gentlemen.
20:10Thanks, guys.
20:11We made it to the beach.
20:12First spot.
20:15Nice and cold, mate.
20:16Nice and cold.
20:17Now, I don't want to alarm you.
20:19I don't want to get you all excited so you won't sleep tonight and all that sort of stuff.
20:23So like little jitterbugs in your bed going all excited.
20:26Alright.
20:27But.
20:29But.
20:30There is a little creek down to our right here apparently.
20:33I had a quick look on the map.
20:35Yeah.
20:36Nathan was telling me.
20:38Mug crabs.
20:39Mug crabs just scurrying around.
20:42Barra and Jax over the other side where the rock bar is.
20:46So we basically need to take that off and go for a run.
20:49I'm not really sure.
20:50Now you're getting excited.
20:51See?
20:52That's what I just.
20:53I just explained the part where I don't want you to get excited.
20:56You'll get up in the morning, mate.
20:57That'll be on the ground and good to go.
21:09Hey, mate.
21:10Mitchie.
21:11It was a good camp here last night, wasn't it?
21:13It's the spot, eh?
21:14I reckon we should hang around here a bit, eh, instead of scarfing off.
21:18What do you reckon, Mitch?
21:19Yeah, mate.
21:20You keen?
21:21I'm keen.
21:22Well, I'm thinking we got here.
21:24We're at the beach.
21:25We know where the start of the track is.
21:27I reckon we go up the top of that hill there.
21:29Now apparently up the top of that hill you can see all over that bay there and the bay
21:33behind us where we're going to try and get to at some stage.
21:36So I'm thinking rather than get the hell out of Dodge real quick, let's go up and have a look.
21:42Sounds like a great idea and we've got the weather for it, mate.
21:43Look at the day.
21:44I know.
21:45It's unreal.
21:46It's a fracking day.
21:47Alright, let's go, mate.
21:48You finish your cuppa, let's go.
21:49I was a bit worried you were going to go, let's go and drive in the bush today, boys.
21:51Oh, shut up.
21:53So we're off to take the track to the top and get a lie of the land.
21:58I wonder if there's a tourist track up there.
22:01There will be.
22:03There's even a sign.
22:08We'll walk up a rocky hill in the morning.
22:11Yeah, it's not too bad.
22:14Bit energetic this time of day.
22:17Get a load of this.
22:22The highest point.
22:24Looks like it.
22:26Oh yeah, you can see all around here.
22:29Look at that over there, mate.
22:32I just noticed that we come up on the hill.
22:34Look at that.
22:35Look at that creek over there, mate.
22:37That would absolutely be awesome.
22:39See the little rocky head there?
22:40Mate, there's a lot going on there.
22:41I reckon we're going to get the tinny in there.
22:42Look, it opens right up further too.
22:44Oh, it does too.
22:45There'll be fish in there.
22:47That country there, mate, I reckon it's going to be gnarly.
22:51Well, you can see there's a fair bit of terrain in there.
22:54It's not just flat.
22:55Oh, there's freshwater swamps and everything.
22:58I'm not even really sure.
22:59Still, the land's only just drying out, dude.
23:02I like to talk it up, but it could be one of those tracks where you get to a point and
23:06go, you know what?
23:07Oh, come on, man.
23:08We've got to get there.
23:09You know what?
23:10I'm talking it up.
23:12We'll hit this track soon, but I reckon we go here first.
23:15Oh, definitely.
23:16Because I reckon it's got potential right now.
23:19I was going to be upset if we didn't do something here and just drive up there and get stuck
23:23in the bush.
23:24I was going to be annoyed.
23:26Way to go, Simon.
23:27You've got to tuck it first, mate.
23:32That's as far as I'm going, eh?
23:35Oh, he's bulged.
23:37He had the air out of that thing, so he's going to have to drop the air right out there.
23:41He's got air right out of the trailer tires.
23:46It's air everything right down, because we're trying to avoid Simon's turtle impersonation.
23:54Okay.
23:56Take two.
23:57All right, so take two.
24:00I was just saying that.
24:01Take two.
24:03Copy that.
24:04Now, will you get out of there, do you think, or are you going to need a bit of assistance?
24:09Okay.
24:10Let's see.
24:11Let's have a little turn.
24:13Simon's going first.
24:14I'll see if we can pop backwards a little bit.
24:17Copy.
24:20He's moving.
24:22Okay.
24:23Let's see if we can go forwards.
24:24Here we go.
24:27Go for a go-go.
24:28No.
24:29I need a bit of assistance to get out of the hole, eh?
24:33Good to go, mate.
24:38She's good to go.
24:41Up we go.
24:45There we go.
24:47I'm out of my hole.
24:49All right.
24:50Take three.
24:52That's a bit better, eh?
24:53Hooray.
24:55Yeah, that would be a big difference.
24:58All right.
24:59We're heading down the beach here, so...
25:00So we're officially on the beach.
25:03There's a bit of a run down the beach to the river mouth, and we'll see how we go.
25:09This is pretty nice.
25:13Too busy around here, though.
25:15Bloody terrorists.
25:17No wheel tracks on this beach.
25:20Hey, mate.
25:21You want to see if we can find a little spot up there where we can do the big unload, eh?
25:28Anywhere there you reckon, Simon?
25:31I reckon so, eh?
25:33What do you reckon, somewhere there?
25:35Yeah, mate.
25:36I've got an idea.
25:37Just so we don't have to get the whole lot off the time being.
25:41Why don't we stick that...
25:42I got this out of my drawer.
25:43Yep.
25:44Why don't we stick that in the rear hitch...
25:46Put the boat on the trailer on there.
25:47Yeah.
25:48Winch it down till that goes on there, the hitch of the boat, and then you just reverse it
25:51into the water like a normal trailer.
25:52Perfect.
25:53Beautiful.
25:54Let's do it.
25:55Perfect.
25:56All right.
25:57Strap's off.
25:58That saves taking the whole front buggy thing off.
26:02It's our brand new CF motor.
26:05U-Force.
26:06Is it a U-Force 1000 still?
26:07It's a U-10.
26:08U-10.
26:09We've got it dirty and we haven't even used it yet.
26:15Come back.
26:16A bit more.
26:17Whoa.
26:18There we go.
26:19Yeah.
26:20Unhook it.
26:21Keep going.
26:22Keep going.
26:23Keep going.
26:24That'll do ya.
26:25Whoop.
26:26It'll start floating.
26:27There we go.
26:28There'll do ya.
26:29All right.
26:30Unhook it there.
26:31All right.
26:32Light's off.
26:33You're off.
26:34That trailer floats.
26:35Yeah.
26:36Trailer floats.
26:37Been a while since we used this tub.
26:38What are you doing, mate?
26:39We didn't even need to put the boat in the water.
26:40Seriously?
26:41I was just checking the lure.
26:42I was literally just checking the lure.
26:43I got a fish.
26:44I think it's at Trevor.
26:45I saw a schoolman just busting over his own.
26:46He was just checking the lure.
26:47He was just checking the lure.
26:48Yeah, that's off.
26:49You're off.
26:50That trailer floats.
26:51That trailer floats.
26:52Yeah, that trailer floats.
26:53Been a while since we used this tub.
26:54What are you doing, mate?
26:55We didn't even need to put the boat in the water.
26:58Seriously?
26:59I was just checking the lure.
27:00I was.
27:01I was literally just checking the lure.
27:03I got fish.
27:05I got fish.
27:06I got fish.
27:07You're off.
27:08I think it's at Trevor.
27:09I saw a schoolman just busting over here.
27:12They haven't even gone anywhere yet.
27:14Isn't that a beaut?
27:16That's a good start.
27:17You caught the first fish?
27:18I caught the first fish.
27:20Mitch, cast there.
27:22Guarantee fish.
27:23I don't see any fish.
27:24Where's the fish?
27:25Go.
27:26There's a little trevally.
27:27See the little scum line?
27:29There we go.
27:30Oh, that's a fish on.
27:32Oh, fish on.
27:33That was a good hit.
27:36Fish on.
27:38We just got here.
27:43They're actually not those real little ones.
27:45They're actually a bit bigger, eh?
27:46Yeah, they're all right.
27:47They've got a bit of grunt to them.
27:50Here he comes.
27:56There we go.
27:57I reckon you should keep that one, mate, just in case.
28:00Are you that hungry?
28:01Yeah.
28:02We can chuck him in for a bitter.
28:04Yeah, we never know.
28:05We might need him.
28:08Let's head.
28:09Let's go, eh?
28:10Yeah, yeah.
28:11Yeah, me and Mitch aren't doing so well here.
28:15They're in there, eh?
28:16I know.
28:17Hold on up there.
28:21There's a few bits and pieces around here.
28:23We just pulled up here because just a heap of fish busting on top of the water.
28:30I was hoping they were trevally or queenies, but I think they might just be a big school of mullet.
28:35But we're gonna find out real quick what they are.
28:42Maybe up further, busting up up there.
28:46I'm liking this creek, eh?
28:48It feels really remote to me.
28:51How many people come down here?
28:53Not too many.
28:54To get here by boat, it's an absolute mission, right?
28:57Oh yeah.
28:58And so you need a decent sized boat.
29:00Then you can't get in the river mouth.
29:01Yeah, and you ain't gonna get that decent sized boat in the river mouth any time soon,
29:05because it's real shallow.
29:07Oh, I think they're mullet.
29:08I just saw a mullet there.
29:09You did?
29:10Yeah, I think they might be mullet.
29:12We saw a crocodile just up there.
29:15He looked a bit, um, he looked like he wasn't really worried too much.
29:21Mitch has caught himself a tree.
29:23Give it a big yank, mate.
29:24It might pull out.
29:25Yeah, it's close.
29:26Oh, that's the first of many trees I catch.
29:29Cheeky mother.
29:31Yes!
29:32Barra!
29:33No, you're a fire today.
29:34You've caught everything.
29:35There he is, a little barra.
29:37Got myself a barra.
29:39It's very small.
29:40Still a barra.
29:41But it's a start.
29:43There we go, boys.
29:44Well done, mate.
29:45That's what a barramundi looks like, if you ever wanted to see what one looks like.
29:49It's like that, but they just need to be bigger.
29:52Alright?
29:53You wanna have a quick look at it, Simon?
29:55That big crock we just saw sliding over there is coming over to bite you.
29:58Just over there, on that bank there.
30:00We're gonna have a look at his slide, eh?
30:02Yeah, a big, big crocodile just slid into the water.
30:06So I'm gonna just be...
30:07This is a solid one.
30:08There it is.
30:09Right there.
30:10Where he was.
30:11Looks like he's come up a couple of times by the looks of that.
30:13Yeah, look at the size of his feet.
30:14He had his belly off the ground a bit there too, but his feet are big.
30:17That's a colony of flying foxes.
30:18Hey, look at that.
30:19That's a...
30:20That's chaos in there.
30:24Look at that.
30:25That's awesome.
30:26Little guys are thick.
30:27Yeah.
30:28That big crocodile will come and visit down here.
30:29Yeah, waiting for him to drop.
30:30Yeah.
30:31That's awesome.
30:32Little guys are thick.
30:33Yeah.
30:34That big crocodile will come and visit down here.
30:38Yeah, waiting for him to drop.
30:39Yeah, waiting for him to drop out.
30:40Dead one.
30:41Then come down here for a look every now and again.
30:43Cop an easy feed.
30:45Before the tide comes in, I reckon we go over and see if we can get some crabs first because
31:08once the tide's in...
31:09There's no crabbing.
31:10Then we can do some more fishing.
31:11We so can do some more fishing.
31:12What do you reckon?
31:13100%.
31:14Let's see how we go.
31:15I say, I reckon.
31:16Reckon.
31:17You said that about the barrow around the rocks, too.
31:20Shut up.
31:21Yeah.
31:22Once bitten, twice shy.
31:24Once bitten, little crab.
31:25He's a bit little, that one.
31:26He's a little buck, but he's very small.
31:28A little bit undersized, mate.
31:29A little bit undersized.
31:30They're all little fellas.
31:32See a little one here?
31:33Yeah, a little one.
31:34Another one here.
31:35Another one there.
31:36Got one.
31:39Got one already, mate.
31:42Oh, don't let him go.
31:43Got him?
31:44Yep.
31:45I've got him pinned down.
31:46Got him?
31:47I've got him.
31:48Back on him?
31:49Yeah, yeah.
31:50Got him.
31:51Oh, I did, Ab.
31:52He's coming your way.
31:53He's right there.
31:54He's right there.
31:55Right there.
31:56There you go.
31:58Yep, he's got mine.
32:00Someone's going to get got here in a minute.
32:03It'll be pretty funny when it does.
32:04Yep, got him.
32:05That's a good crab.
32:06Nice work, boy.
32:07You got me.
32:08I got you.
32:09Ah.
32:10Don't let that claw go.
32:11No.
32:12There's a little buck there.
32:13Perfect.
32:14He's a good size.
32:16Nice big fat claws.
32:17Mate, we got dinner.
32:18How'd you even see you?
32:19We got afternoon dinner.
32:21Do you think you're under there revealing?
32:23No.
32:24I shoved my hand in there first.
32:26You did.
32:27Nice.
32:28There's a big crab in here somewhere.
32:34It's a big hole.
32:35You feel him grabbing your spear?
32:37Yeah.
32:38There's a good one in here.
32:40I've got him.
32:41I've just got to get him out.
32:42He's jammed himself in.
32:43Everyone's finding crabs but me.
32:45Where's my crabs?
32:46Don't lose them in there.
32:48Out you come.
32:49He's wriggling.
32:50He's wriggling.
32:51Come doggy.
32:52Woo.
32:55Oh, there you got one.
32:56Two for two.
32:57Look at that.
32:58Good job.
32:59He's a buck too, that one.
33:02Beautiful crab.
33:03Those oysters in there, mate, they're sharp.
33:05They just open you up.
33:06Look at my hands.
33:08I'm bleeding like a stuck pig.
33:10Oh, here we go.
33:11We got one.
33:12There we go.
33:13Mitch is onto one.
33:16You're not going to be able to get that one out of there, eh?
33:18No.
33:20How am I going to get that one out?
33:21It's like back here.
33:24Ah!
33:27You getting ya?
33:28I saw a shoe crab.
33:30They're a native up here in Arnhem Land.
33:32The old shoe crab.
33:34We got ourselves a nice feed, that's for sure.
33:36That's a start.
33:38Two good crabs right there.
33:41Two crabs, three blokes, that's plenty.
33:43I don't know how Mitch is going.
33:45He looks a bit determined to get that one.
33:49Hurry up!
33:52I finally got it.
33:57Suffered some unintended cotsquatzes, but that's put me on the board.
34:01Persistent little bugger, isn't he?
34:02He is.
34:03He is.
34:04You're not giving up on that crab.
34:05Alright.
34:06Let's go show the boys.
34:07I think he got it.
34:08That one.
34:09I think he's got it.
34:10I got one.
34:12Alright, let's get in the boat.
34:13Let's go.
34:14Oh, fish.
34:15Oh, oh.
34:16He's on.
34:17Yes.
34:18Big fish.
34:19I think it's a trevor.
34:20Hoping for a barrow.
34:21We're gonna hit.
34:23Fish on.
34:24Some colour there yet?
