00:00:00Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:30Good evening. It's the start of a very busy week in the Premier League
00:00:47and it's been a great day of football. Five games on the way for you tonight.
00:00:51Expect comebacks, late drama and plenty of goals.
00:00:54Joe Hart and Danny Murphy have enjoyed a lively afternoon in the Match of the Day office.
00:00:58As usual, they've got plenty to say, although not to me about the Camel Jumper memo.
00:01:03Manchester City followed defeat at Newcastle last weekend by losing to Leverkusen at home in midweek.
00:01:08Next up was the visit of Leeds United in the bottom three and on a run of three straight defeats.
00:01:14Guy Mowbray was at the Etihad.
00:01:16It's fair to say that the mood amongst Leeds fans at the moment has most of them not expecting much here today.
00:01:23While City fans, well, they could be forgiven for not knowing what to expect.
00:01:27They did think there'd be changes to the team and Pep Guardiola has made nine of them,
00:01:32almost fully reversing his Tuesday night decisions.
00:01:35Tijani Rinder's in for Ray and Shirky.
00:01:38That's the only change from City's last three Premier League starting lineups.
00:01:43For Leeds, five changes.
00:01:44As James Justin, Ilya Gruev, Ayo Tanaka, Dan James and Willy Nyonso come in.
00:01:49Sean Longstaff is out with a calf injury.
00:01:51And on stack due to concussion protocols, Goodmanson, Okafor and Brendan Aronson all drop to the subs bench.
00:02:01If today is going to be the day of his 100th Premier League goal, well, maybe it's just meant to be.
00:02:07As Erling Haaland faces his first love.
00:02:09He was born in Leeds just as his dad, Alfinger, was about to make his own move to Manchester City.
00:02:15So two defeats in a row for City, which has happened before this season.
00:02:21They won the next one 3-0 against Manchester United.
00:02:25And a firm favourites to get the better of Leeds United.
00:02:30Here's Matthias Nunes.
00:02:33Bernardo Silva, Nunes into the box and in behind to put it across for the first goal to be scored.
00:02:39Phil Foden gets it.
00:02:44All of Leeds United's worst fears have just happened.
00:02:49Josco and Guardiol with the ball out to Matthias Nunes.
00:02:53A few eyebrows raised with Daniel Farkas' decision to leave out Gabriel Goodmanson, the regular left-back today.
00:03:00It was down his side.
00:03:02Matthias Nunes into the middle.
00:03:04Foden lifted his left leg at just the right time.
00:03:07And with 59 seconds on the clock, makes Manchin to City 1, Leeds United 0.
00:03:13The Leeds fans will not stand on sentiment if they believe that a change would be best to give their team a chance of staying up.
00:03:21A sizeable number have been very vocally questioning whether Daniel Farka is the right man going forward.
00:03:29That's Guardiol.
00:03:31Matthias Nunes able to wait for it.
00:03:33Nunes knew he had precious little chance of winning it in the air.
00:03:37He has won it on the floor, but he has done that at the cost of a corner.
00:03:45It's Grueff who's got the job of keeping tabs on Haaland as well as Strauch.
00:03:48And it's Guardiol they should have been concerned about.
00:03:51He's headed it back to Foden.
00:03:53Oh, good save.
00:03:55I reckon that might have been going in.
00:03:58Strong hand from Lucas Perry.
00:04:03And it was going in.
00:04:08City go again.
00:04:09Lucas Perry doesn't clear it.
00:04:11And it's in for two.
00:04:13Josko Guardiol.
00:04:15And it's his first of the season.
00:04:19The problems mount.
00:04:22Well, they're not always picture book goals.
00:04:25Lucas Perry stretching.
00:04:27He might feel as though there was a little bit of being impeded by Bernardo Silva.
00:04:31But he wasn't stopped from getting anywhere near the ball.
00:04:34Guardiol with the finishing touch from, what, 20 centimetres out?
00:04:40And Padu.
00:04:42James on the run.
00:04:43James might just have the run here on Guardiol.
00:04:47Guardiol sticks to his task.
00:04:49Here's Nyonto.
00:04:50And now it's Metcha.
00:04:51It's never really on.
00:04:55Would have had to have been pretty much perfect to score from there with that chance.
00:05:00But it was a chance of sorts for Leeds.
00:05:06And again, Doku.
00:05:10Rinders.
00:05:11And again, Doku.
00:05:13And Doku across.
00:05:14It won't reach Haaland.
00:05:15It will come to Bernardo Silva.
00:05:17Bodies on the line for Leeds.
00:05:21Another one before half-time and they're toast.
00:05:24Foden.
00:05:28That's Nico Gonzalez.
00:05:29And Perry keeps it out.
00:05:33Doku.
00:05:37Bernardo Silva.
00:05:40Haaland trying to battle through to the ball.
00:05:42That's Rinders.
00:05:43And another block.
00:05:45Anything in the way will do to keep Leeds hanging on in this game.
00:05:48City very quickly shifted their mood there from passing the ball around to becoming predatory.
00:05:57Bion.
00:06:01Tanaka.
00:06:05Forward by Bogle.
00:06:07Mateus Nunes gives it away.
00:06:11Here's Tanaka.
00:06:11Through to Calvert-Lewin who tries to spin.
00:06:14And he's got the chance again.
00:06:15And he's taken it.
00:06:17Well, there's a Daniel Farker substitution that's worked.
00:06:22And very quickly.
00:06:25Leeds are back in the game.
00:06:28Calvert-Lewin not offside by the time the ball first came his way.
00:06:32You can see that there.
00:06:35Looked as though the chance had gone when he spun and the ball rolled through.
00:06:39But then Mateus Nunes didn't deal with it as he should have done.
00:06:43And he touches it back to Calvert-Lewin who's switched on sufficiently to score.
00:06:47Lucas Perry trying to find Calvert-Lewin.
00:06:56It's going to bounce through to Bogle.
00:06:57Calvert-Lewin again.
00:06:59Oh, is that a risk?
00:07:00It was a risk.
00:07:01But the follow-up is pulled wide.
00:07:04Leeds have got the penalty.
00:07:05They nearly got the goal anyway.
00:07:09Bogle's knock on.
00:07:11Calvert-Lewin against Guardiola was the next thing to happen.
00:07:14And look at that.
00:07:15Nowhere near the ball.
00:07:17Peter Banks just let it run.
00:07:18A moment or two longer to see if Leeds could score anyway.
00:07:21They might now.
00:07:27Metcher puts the ball and himself on the spot.
00:07:32Can he score for a third game in a row and draw Leeds level?
00:07:37Saved by Donnarumma.
00:07:39But it is straight back to Lucas Metcher,
00:07:41who is not missing the second chance.
00:07:44And Leeds have got a second chance in this game.
00:07:49The former Manchester City hopeful.
00:07:52Leeds even more hopeful.
00:07:55They won't settle for one point.
00:07:57Not the way this half has gone.
00:08:00What happens next?
00:08:02This really could go either way.
00:08:11Foden across the docker.
00:08:12Docker gets half a yard.
00:08:16Perry gets a hand to it.
00:08:18Oh, it's sliced.
00:08:19It's not decisive, that, from Strauch.
00:08:21But it has gone behind for a corner.
00:08:24He nearly mugged it into his own net.
00:08:27Anxious moment for Pascal Strauch.
00:08:29Foden.
00:08:31Foden.
00:08:32Here's Guardiola.
00:08:40Here's Guardiola.
00:08:42Docku.
00:08:44Docku with a run at Bogle.
00:08:46Really good cross!
00:08:47Saved by Lucas Perry.
00:08:49Omar Mamouche with the header.
00:08:53Got the direction, lacked the power.
00:08:56He might not get a better chance.
00:09:02There will be at least ten minutes added on.
00:09:05We're into the first of them.
00:09:06Foden.
00:09:14Ruben Diaz.
00:09:18Mateus Nunes getting closer.
00:09:22Cherky.
00:09:24Foden.
00:09:24Foden's effort!
00:09:29Foden's goal!
00:09:35Leeds' heart's broken.
00:09:39The player who started it all might have just finished it.
00:09:45Brilliantly done by Phil Foden.
00:09:48Forced away from goal at first.
00:09:50With a couple of touches later,
00:09:54he still knew there was a gap to go for.
00:09:57And that is as precise as it gets.
00:10:00Manchester City 3, Leeds United 2.
00:10:04We had this belief before the game, during the game,
00:10:07and right now even after the game.
00:10:09So otherwise you can't come back after such a first half tunnel
00:10:12and deliver such a performance and come so close,
00:10:15perhaps even to win it here.
00:10:17So missing is the clinical edge up front
00:10:19or perhaps the last final save or the last final tackle.
00:10:22If we can add this, then I'm 100% convinced.
00:10:25We have more than enough also to win the points that we need.
00:10:29You work so hard to get yourself back in a good position in the game
00:10:32and I think we perhaps could have managed the game a little bit better at times
00:10:35and if you know what City are like,
00:10:38they dominate the ball and then it's waves and waves of attack
00:10:40and they've got good players that can punish you.
00:10:42But to do what we did, we can take confidence from it,
00:10:45but ultimately it's the points that matter.
00:10:47Today, and in every game, you need Phil Foden to be sparkling like he did.
00:10:51Just what sort of composure does it take to find that finish
00:10:54when he did in the way that he did?
00:10:57It's the first time we saw that.
00:10:58It's not the first time.
00:11:00Since they came up with us, I have done it a thousand million times.
00:11:04A thousand, thousand million times I've done it.
00:11:06So, in that terms, he's absolutely, absolutely, I know, we know the quality,
00:11:13you know, can shoot strong and is able to put the ball simply to the net.
00:11:17I've always found myself in them situations where it's very tight on the edge of the box
00:11:21and I only had one thought in my head is just try and get the shot off,
00:11:24especially them late stages, just try and get anything on it.
00:11:27And, yeah, thankfully, when it hit the back of the net, there was, yeah, great feeling.
00:11:33Well, he got them going very quickly today and he ended up finishing it all off,
00:11:36but he got them out of jail, Joe, as well.
00:11:38Yeah, he got them out of jail, but he got them out of jail with absolute quality.
00:11:42His first-half performance, he was absolutely purring.
00:11:46Stepped up for Manchester City.
00:11:47Look, he'll be aware of the noise around Erling Haaland being a one-man show up front.
00:11:51And they're not. They're not Manchester City.
00:11:53But, in fairness, this is the position he takes up.
00:11:56Haaland just leads with adamant that Haaland wasn't scoring today.
00:12:00But when you do make that decision, you leave people like Phil Foden free,
00:12:0512 yards out, such a brilliant cushioned finish.
00:12:07Beautiful finish, in fact.
00:12:09Talk about that Haaland factor.
00:12:13Strauq and Justin at the back post.
00:12:15They're obsessed with him.
00:12:17Phil Foden's an intelligent player.
00:12:19Doku, absolutely beautiful pass.
00:12:21Very, very unlucky, but dangerous.
00:12:23The first-half, Manchester City, they really were purring.
00:12:26Another great example here of the Erling Haaland effect
00:12:30and Phil Foden benefiting from it.
00:12:32All the players around him, it goes through.
00:12:34This is the perfect position for Phil Foden to be stepping onto
00:12:37with a player of his quality.
00:12:38It's actually an incredible block.
00:12:40And at this point, you thought, like, how many goals is it going to be?
00:12:43This is one of the best one-twos I think I've seen this season.
00:12:46Just sets himself with Guardiol.
00:12:48Technique, that ball's bobbling.
00:12:50Beautiful, brilliant save.
00:12:51And that actually resulted in the goal.
00:12:53But this is it.
00:12:54In the 91st minute, 14 players in that box.
00:12:58Leeds defending with their lives.
00:12:59He's constantly checking, how can I create space?
00:13:02How can I create space?
00:13:04Cherky knows he's got to get it to his man.
00:13:05He's sat in the pocket, ready to win the game for him.
00:13:08He's managed to get himself eight yards.
00:13:09Strike breaks out.
00:13:10It's not a good first touch, actually.
00:13:12Shimmy, shimmy.
00:13:13And then a beautiful finish.
00:13:14And I'm not being funny.
00:13:15Vision, they talked about it here.
00:13:17I am not seeing a shot.
00:13:18He's facing away from goal.
00:13:20He's got that many bodies in front of him, but his composure, and then the way that he just strikes this ball through the bodies, absolutely no chance.
00:13:28Brilliant finish.
00:13:29Absolute match winner.
00:13:31Brilliant display.
00:13:32Erling Haaland, you mentioned him a lot there, but Phil Fogh's touch map, pretty impressive.
00:13:37Oh, he was everywhere.
00:13:38And you could tell he was really enjoying today.
00:13:40You know, Etihad was his dance floor.
00:13:42Getting on the ball, he won't enjoy those red dots, but ultimately there is goals.
00:13:45So he goes on in his search for his hundredth goal, Haaland.
00:13:48But today, that win was vital for them in terms of keeping up with the chasing pack, with Chelsea and Arsenal playing tomorrow.
00:13:55Oh, it was a massive win, Gavin.
00:13:57I think, by hook or by crook, the performance was secondary.
00:14:00The points was all that mattered after a disappointing loss at Newcastle last week.
00:14:04But to give up the chances they did last weekend and in the second half today, and a lot of mistakes, actually,
00:14:10they're going to have to eradicate them if they want to stay with Arsenal.
00:14:12Because Daniel Farker made some great substitutions that had an immediate impact for Leeds.
00:14:16But actually, City were the architects of their own downfall, weren't they?
00:14:19Yeah, I think City were really disappointed with how they started the second half.
00:14:23Like I say, first half, they were so dominant.
00:14:25They had so many chances.
00:14:27Donnarumma, so calm in the first half.
00:14:29That's not a good decision from the big man.
00:14:30And immediately, he just sent the cat among the pigeons.
00:14:33I think someone like a Calvert-Lewin coming on, it does change your thinking as a centre-half and as a full-back.
00:14:38Nunes, that we all know, he's not naturally a defending player.
00:14:43But I think Leeds came out on the front foot, as we talked about Farker.
00:14:47So he didn't have an option there.
00:14:48Not a good touch from Calvert-Lewin.
00:14:50But Nunes, he's got two other options there that can eradicate any chance for Calvert-Lewin.
00:14:56He can't believe his luck.
00:14:57Absolutely no problem with this.
00:14:59Difficult pass into midfield.
00:15:01His teammates get him out of luck.
00:15:03Now here, the Manchester City way.
00:15:04Does he set Donnarumma or does he go old school?
00:15:07Smash it out for a throw-in and deal with it from there.
00:15:09He ends up doing nothing.
00:15:10Calvert-Lewin, like I say, can't believe his luck.
00:15:13Gvardiol, excellent player.
00:15:15There's absolutely no need for him to try and...
00:15:17He's trying to get his body and turn with the ball.
00:15:19I don't know what he's trying to do there.
00:15:20He can just put that out for a corner.
00:15:22But City were rattled at this point.
00:15:24Blatant penalty.
00:15:25And it allows Leeds back into the game.
00:15:27And a team like Leeds giving them confidence.
00:15:29To hang on.
00:15:29They made it very difficult.
00:15:30Yeah, and they, of course, now have had four straight defeats in a row.
00:15:34The noise will start to grow.
00:15:36The pressure will start to grow around Daniel Farker.
00:15:38It's that time of the season, isn't it?
00:15:40It is.
00:15:40But the last couple of games, the level of performance has been good.
00:15:44They can take...
00:15:44The players are playing for him.
00:15:46They've been in a lot of games.
00:15:47Yeah.
00:15:47They've lost points late in games.
00:15:50I think four or five points.
00:15:51They've lost that 90-minute-plus mark.
00:15:53And I think if the fans just are a bit more patient...
00:15:56Not more patient, but stick with them a bit longer, this team are getting better.
00:15:59I know they've got some tough fixtures coming up, but they can take a lot of heart from that second-half performance.
00:16:03He did comment in his post-match interviews about the time-out.
00:16:07It was at 2-1 when Donnarumma went down.
00:16:11Unfortunate little hamstring strain that was going on there, it would seem.
00:16:15He's saying this is not sporting.
00:16:16It's within the rules, and he feels that it was clearly, for him, an orchestrated moment that they could get together and have a huddle.
00:16:23And they did.
00:16:24All the City players came in and had a huddle at that point, and they stopped Leeds' momentum.
00:16:29You mean a tactical meeting?
00:16:30A tactical meeting that he felt perhaps is not in the spirit of the game.
00:16:35Well, I don't know how he's medically allowed to say that Donnarumma wasn't injured.
00:16:39He might have been feeling his hamstring, but it's not something that we haven't seen before.
00:16:43And you don't win that many Premier Leagues and that many titles without knowing the rules.
00:16:47Although he was all right when he ran to celebrate the goal like an Olympic sprinter.
00:16:51Very good physios, Dan.
00:16:52Yeah, good physios.
00:16:53I think they can change it really quickly.
00:16:55If a keeper goes down injured, instead of him having to go off for the minute,
00:16:59the plow 30 seconds, wherever it is, one of the outfield players goes off, then it's fair all round.
00:17:03It's a little change that will make the world a difference.
00:17:05A little tweak.
00:17:05A little tweak.
00:17:06OK, to the stadium of light next.
00:17:08Sunderland and Bournemouth level on points and both without a win in their last three.
00:17:13Met up knowing a victory for either of them would take them into the top four.
00:17:17Commentary comes from Tom Gale.
00:17:18Sunderland's unbeaten start here at home has their fans reveling in being tagged as a tough place to go.
00:17:27Dan Ballard makes his 100th appearance for the club.
00:17:30Former Sunderland boss Sam Allardy says Granit Xhaka is the best defensive midfielder in English football.
00:17:36Bournemouth's only away victory so far came back in August at Spurs.
00:17:41I mean, Adli makes just his second Premier League start.
00:17:44Antoine Semenya returns following illness and injury.
00:17:48Six goals already but haven't scored since early October.
00:17:52Not a fixture steeped in history this one.
00:17:59Just the 11th meeting overall between these two and their fifth in the top flights.
00:18:04Semenya, can he benefit here?
00:18:13Low ball in, it's a great one!
00:18:14Oh, it's off the frame of the goal and followed up by Adli!
00:18:19Bournemouth strike first at the Stadium of Lights.
00:18:22And it's the man brought into the starting line-up, Amin Adli,
00:18:27who gets his first goal for the club.
00:18:30There is a bit of fortune here.
00:18:32That slip allows Semenya to bring Bournemouth forward.
00:18:38What a ball in to Evan Nielsen.
00:18:40He can't finish but on the follow-up, Adli's alive and he makes no mistake.
00:18:47Sunderland 0, Bournemouth 1.
00:18:50Reyn Ilda, hands in the cross towards Isidore, the keeper did well, under pressure.
00:18:56Le Fay, heavy touch.
00:18:57It will be a Sunderland corner.
00:19:02Le Fay's side have just scored one goal so far from a corner.
00:19:12They go short.
00:19:15Poor lay-off from Talby.
00:19:19He's recovered well, though.
00:19:21Oh, no.
00:19:22A gifted Bournemouth possession.
00:19:25Adams goes for goal.
00:19:27He spotted Ruse off his line!
00:19:32What a sensational goal that is from the American.
00:19:36He doesn't score many.
00:19:38And I think he'll probably admit he might never score a better one in his career.
00:19:42Take about Tyler Adams.
00:19:47This all comes from a Sunderland corner.
00:19:51Poor lay-off from Talby.
00:19:54The American looks to his left, spots the keeper off his line and thinks,
00:19:57I'll go for this.
00:19:58Robin Ruse is scrambling back in despair.
00:20:01He's on the receiving end of a Premier League Classic goal from Tyler Adams.
00:20:08Sunderland 0, Bournemouth 2.
00:20:10Traore squeezes it through to the fair.
00:20:19Traore trying to get in behind True Fair.
00:20:22Sunderland throw.
00:20:27That's going to be the first Sunderland long throw of the afternoon.
00:20:31To be taken by Nourdi and Nuki L.A.
00:20:33It's allowed to bounce.
00:20:38Isidore feels as though he's been held.
00:20:42Semenyo can't get away from Le Fay.
00:20:45There's a Bournemouth player down inside the 18-yard box.
00:20:49The attack is still coming.
00:20:51Reynaldo goes down.
00:20:52He wants a penalty.
00:20:53And the referee agrees.
00:20:58Bournemouth are in disbelief.
00:21:00Referee Tim Robinson allowed himself a little bit of time to process this.
00:21:05And he deems that challenge by Alex Scott from behind.
00:21:10That's sufficient to award a spot kick.
00:21:13VAR say that Reynaldo's stepping across into the path of the ball.
00:21:18Contact from behind.
00:21:19So it is a correct decision to award Sunderland the spot kick.
00:21:24So Sunderland's second penalty of the season.
00:21:29It was Enzo Le Fay who tucked away his spot kick against Grenfell here back in August.
00:21:37He's looking to drag his team back into this match.
00:21:41Le Fay.
00:21:45No mistake.
00:21:50Regis Labrice unmoved but delight amongst those home supporters.
00:21:56The goalkeeper does go the right way but Bournemouth's advantage has been halved.
00:22:01Sunderland one.
00:22:02Bournemouth two.
00:22:03Sunderland.
00:22:06Traore.
00:22:08Start by Tavernier.
00:22:11Xhaka.
00:22:13Have another go here.
00:22:14No.
00:22:15Disguise back to Xhaka.
00:22:17Crowd wanting him to shoot.
00:22:18Picks out Traore.
00:22:19Go slow!
00:22:20Go slow!
00:22:24Inside the opening.
00:22:2660 seconds of the second half.
00:22:30Sunderland draw themselves level.
00:22:32And it's a first ever goal in Sunderland colours for Bertrand Traore.
00:22:40Good disguise on this to pick out Traore.
00:22:44It's tight.
00:22:45He beats the goalkeeper at the near post.
00:22:49Sunderland two.
00:22:50Bournemouth two.
00:22:52And that certainly got the crowd up just the start they wanted from a home perspective.
00:22:58Semenya gets away.
00:23:01Goes low and it's there!
00:23:02It deflects and finds its way into the back of the net.
00:23:06But the assistance flag has been raised.
00:23:10Bournemouth's joy is short-lived.
00:23:13Semenya finds a way through.
00:23:17It comes off Alderate.
00:23:17And is that going in before Evan Nielsen gets a touch?
00:23:26Radley.
00:23:29Free-kick Sunderland.
00:23:31Radley's not impressed.
00:23:33Smith goes down unchallenged.
00:23:43It will be a Sunderland corner.
00:23:46But Adam Smith will approach to get back to his feet.
00:23:51Rundle makes contact with the Bournemouth man.
00:23:55That's why he's gone down, but back to his feet and defending a Sunderland corner.
00:24:02Lefebvre, his corner.
00:24:05Robbie!
00:24:08Off the bench as Sunderland come from behind to lead against Bournemouth.
00:24:14Regis Lebris is giving nothing away, but it's goals in back-to-back home games for the Dutchman.
00:24:24Lovely delivery from Lefebvre.
00:24:27He's moving away from goal, the number nine is being held.
00:24:32Uses the momentum of the football to guide it away from Petrovic.
00:24:37Who saw this coming after the opening 15 minutes?
00:24:41Sunderland three, Bournemouth two.
00:24:48Rundle back to Sanessi.
00:24:53Brooks.
00:24:54On his left.
00:24:56Cook stands up the cross.
00:24:59Still not cleared.
00:25:00Tavernier off the ball!
00:25:05Mundell gets there.
00:25:07He's all alone, though.
00:25:09Needs some help.
00:25:14Does really well there, the youngster.
00:25:19Sunderland is not happy with something, and he's being shown a yellow card.
00:25:24I don't think Bournemouth can actually believe the way this game has panned out.
00:25:32Kruppi.
00:25:32True fair.
00:25:33True fair.
00:25:37Brooks surely going to be shown a yellow card.
00:25:41Bournemouth are starting to lose the clock.
00:25:45They can't believe how this game has got away from them.
00:25:48It's a rugby tackle.
00:25:54Mugfiele has been shown a yellow card.
00:25:59David Brooks shown the Bournemouth yellow card.
00:26:02I can't see why David Brooks has any complaints.
00:26:05Jacket backs into his man.
00:26:18No, he doesn't.
00:26:21The referee saw that as a Sunderland free kick.
00:26:28Lewis Cook has been shown a red card.
00:26:31This is the reason why that forearm into Noah Siddiqui, violent conduct, and his dismissal surely ends any Bournemouth hopes of salvaging something from this afternoon.
00:26:47Sunderland 3, Sunderland 3, Bournemouth 2.
00:26:51It's very difficult to keep your head leveled.
00:26:55I think everyone supporting Bournemouth today would have not a yellow card, a red card.
00:26:59Everyone looking at the game, how the game has gone and how the referee was calling everything.
00:27:04I had one, Tommy had one, Sean had one on the bench.
00:27:07You are in the Premier League, you try to keep your level headed, you try to go over these things, but he's basically lost control absolutely of the game.
00:27:15I understand, it's a great stadium atmosphere, everyone pushing, putting, but I don't think you can lose the control of the game like it happened today.
00:27:22This league is really demanding.
00:27:24You make two mistakes and you get finished very quickly, coming from 2-0 down and winning this game at the end, I think it's a big achievement.
00:27:33It shows once again that this team has a strong character, they are never beaten, they want to fight.
00:27:42So after these two goals, I think many teams can give up, but it wasn't the case for us today.
00:27:48Yeah, and it's the first time in 177 attempts that Sunderland have come back from a two-goal deficit in the Premier League to go on and win.
00:27:58So that, if nothing else, tells you just about the fight in this team, and what a game.
00:28:03Well, I got lucky today because Joe had first choice, so I got this game, but I was so pleased.
00:28:09It was incredible.
00:28:11Two great teams playing with energy, freedom, going toe for toe.
00:28:15Sunderland deserved credit as well for that because they went to a back four to get more men forward on the pitch.
00:28:21But one player in particular, Le Fay, for Sunderland, was the main instigator in the comeback.
00:28:26He was terrific.
00:28:27This game could have been 4-4, 5-5, but this is at 2-0, pushing on to try and get back in the game, committing men forward.
00:28:34And as you see here, Le Fay, as you want, fighting for your team, winning tackles isn't his forte.
00:28:39He's more of a flair player.
00:28:40We know that nice and positive with his passing.
00:28:42And this is the contentious penalty.
00:28:46Ray Niel, though, gets fouled, we think, initially.
00:28:49And when you watch it again, it's soft.
00:28:50He puts his leg across.
00:28:52Scott, yes, he's a bit stupid to dive in.
00:28:54Shouldn't really give the referee a decision to make, but he's looking for it, and they decide to give it.
00:28:59And once he's given it, VAR weren't going to change it.
00:29:01And then Le Fay hits a beautiful penalty under pressure to give them the impetus down, get the fans behind them.
00:29:07This is what Sunderland's about, winning the ball back, working together, hunting in packs.
00:29:12And there's your man again.
00:29:13Great strike, inches away from getting his team back in.
00:29:16This is the first minute of the second half.
00:29:17Of course, Bournemouth are going to be disappointed.
00:29:19Traore was terrific, caused a lot of problems.
00:29:22Xhaka again, the calming influence in there, getting them passing.
00:29:26And Le Fay is well involved.
00:29:28Brilliant move, 2-2.
00:29:29And then, all of a sudden, the fans are up.
00:29:32They feel like they can win it.
00:29:33Again, it was end-to-end.
00:29:34Bournemouth contributed, I have to say that, to a wonderful game.
00:29:38Lovely little pass from Le Fay.
00:29:39He's so confident with that.
00:29:40He wants to take responsibility.
00:29:42Robby's there off the bench.
00:29:44Just missed that one, but here he is, super sub.
00:29:47Quality of the corner from Le Fay again.
00:29:50And the header from Robby's terrific.
00:29:52Two winners in two weeks.
00:29:54And the stadium is just ecstatic.
00:29:56It was amazing to see.
00:29:59This team that have come up who nobody gave a chance, including me,
00:30:03now sitting in a wonderful position in the Premier League.
00:30:05And that manager deserves great failure.
00:30:07As we finish November, you know, December next week,
00:30:09they are fourth.
00:30:10Well, they're in the top four of the table,
00:30:13which, you know, it just must feel like heaven to Sunderland fans.
00:30:16And that home form that we just showed you there is largely why.
00:30:19If you can make home a fortress, as they are at the moment,
00:30:23then you stand yourself in a very, very good position, don't you?
00:30:26Yeah, that's incredible what's going on today.
00:30:28And it was absolutely rocking.
00:30:29That's the kind of place that enjoys those wet and windy conditions.
00:30:32To go 2-0 down and still believe in what we're doing with absolute quality.
00:30:36Credit to them.
00:30:36They're really establishing themselves this season.
00:30:39And they're a joy to watch.
00:30:40The games are really, really enjoyable.
00:30:41Yeah, next time you can bag see it.
00:30:45OK, Newcastle still without an away win so far this season,
00:30:49went to Everton, who won at Old Trafford
00:30:51in an eventful encounter on Monday night.
00:30:53And maybe Moyes has never won at Old Trafford as the visiting manager.
00:31:02It's all kicking off within the Everton players here,
00:31:05and a red card has been shown.
00:31:07How ludicrous is this?
00:31:11Deuce Rehaul on the half-turn is away from Fernandes.
00:31:14And then bends it beautifully into the top corner.
00:31:20Six, he's headed out.
00:31:21What a save, Capeford.
00:31:23Everton have done it.
00:31:25David Moyes has tasted success at Old Trafford.
00:31:29Your commentator at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Steve Bauer.
00:31:33Spurs are the only team to win here at Everton's new home,
00:31:36as David Moyes' team aim for three league wins in a row
00:31:39without the suspended Adrissa Garnaguet and injured Seamus Coleman.
00:31:43So Iribunum and O'Brien are in.
00:31:46Newcastle, who've now got nine Premier League away games without a win,
00:31:50ring the changes,
00:31:51including a Premier League debut for the club in goal for Aaron Ramsdale.
00:31:55Nick Pope isn't in the squad due to injury.
00:31:58Byrne, Miley and Alanga, also all-star.
00:32:01So Everton get us in the way, unbeaten in the last four Premier League meetings against Newcastle United.
00:32:13That's the first challenge for the returning Dan Byrne.
00:32:17Well, it wasn't a free kick.
00:32:19And that challenge with Barry, here's Voltermeyer.
00:32:22Into the path of Alanga.
00:32:25Who was able to get a shot in, and Jordan Pickford had to make sure by turning that round for a corner.
00:32:31And Alanga here burst through, less than 30 seconds into the game.
00:32:36Early first corner.
00:32:38Into a pack of players and in!
00:32:45It's Malik Chow.
00:32:48With his very first Newcastle goal, just a minute into the game.
00:32:53Good leap from the German.
00:33:01Got there first and guided it past Pickford.
00:33:05Off the mark.
00:33:07In a Newcastle shirt.
00:33:10And that Newcastle goal, after 55 seconds,
00:33:13the fastest of this Premier League season so far.
00:33:15Well, early cross from him.
00:33:22Barnes!
00:33:25Really important challenge from Michael Keane.
00:33:28Harvey Barnes, the top scorer, bang in form.
00:33:31With a clear sight of goal, with a really good stretch from Keane.
00:33:35And that was being good to him, 7 points from 9 so far.
00:33:40And Kalenko to float it in.
00:33:42Top scorer stayed forward, little layoff to Michael Keane.
00:33:45He's been deflected.
00:33:46And deflected over.
00:33:48Well, the two central defenders linking up well there.
00:33:55His 48th birthday today.
00:33:58Eddie Howe.
00:33:59What a present.
00:34:00A positive result here would be on the road.
00:34:05Alanga.
00:34:07Brown-Mikalenko.
00:34:09And where she's for Keane, but it's back now with Liveramento.
00:34:12Barnes.
00:34:13Couldn't find Volta Marder.
00:34:15The skewed effort from Liveramento.
00:34:17Miley!
00:34:212-0 Newcastle.
00:34:25Lewis Miley's third Premier League goal.
00:34:27He was initially miscued by Liveramento there, came back to Miley.
00:34:36Oh, and Pickford will be disappointed.
00:34:39That was straight at him, and that is an error.
00:34:43But Newcastle were mined, because the team with the travel sickness,
00:34:47nine Premier League games without a win, are now two goals to the good.
00:34:52Molta Marder, ahead of Hirabunum.
00:35:00Volta Marder for 3-0.
00:35:03Brilliantly taken.
00:35:04well after four premier league games without a goal the germans back on the score sheet
00:35:11and that could be a killer goal already at this stage and what a scoreline for the visitors
00:35:18too easy for a langer there and where was the marking with voltmada but then a very cool finish
00:35:27from the big german and this is a long way back already now for everton
00:35:32right on the stroke of half time three nil down
00:35:45jewsbury hall
00:35:48greelich against liberamento
00:35:53sticking to the task in hand it's an everton corner
00:35:56garner with it
00:36:06alcaraz
00:36:06crash that against the woodwork i'll tell you something i think ramsdale
00:36:16produced a fantastic stop there to prevent it going over the line
00:36:21watch ramsdale here it might have even been harvey barnes
00:36:24who got to this first either way it was hugely effective before alcaraz crashed it against the
00:36:33woodwork it was barnes right on the line well just to clear this up might have struck harvey
00:36:40barnes's arm slightly there but tucked in in a natural position
00:36:50what a lovely ball from hall pickford's back scampering and he's denied barnes in the end
00:36:58because there was a split second of uncertainty there from the everton goalkeeper
00:37:02and then stood strong and denied newcastle's top scorer
00:37:08miley with it well defended by michelenko
00:37:13back in from miley burn lurking voltamada denied by pickford
00:37:20oh we can't keep that one out though
00:37:324-0 newcastle and two of them scored by malik chao
00:37:40the second lowest scorers away from home in the premier league have hit four well initially it was
00:37:47nearly four here pigford touches it tarkovsky blocks it but everton knew the danger
00:37:55wasn't clear back in from lewis hall and it's another fine header from malik chao
00:38:04his highest ever in a season is two
00:38:07level without in less than an hour here
00:38:18michelenko's cross barry waiting burn blocking barry scoring well it's only a consolation in terms of
00:38:27today but it's a huge moment for tiano barry who finally has his first everton goal
00:38:36now then the only problem is does he head this onto his hand before he swivels and slices it in
00:38:46the ar are checking this because of course if it does hit his hand and lead to a goal
00:38:52it will not stand and it isn't going to stand so the weight goes on
00:39:07lifted forward by tarkovsky
00:39:09jewsbury hall fabulous taken goal
00:39:11that's a goal of the highest quality and everton do have one back this time
00:39:21his second in a week is third in everton blue
00:39:26what a first touch and a very cool one into the back of the net as well look at that first touch
00:39:32neverton one newcastle four massive win for us first away win of the season we needed it we've been
00:39:41chasing it and it's been elusive so far but that was a big moment today and a really good performance
00:39:46as well from the the players um thought we looked solid i thought we looked physically really good
00:39:51which was a tough test after marseille manik very well done how good does that feel amazing amazing
00:39:56performance from the from the team um yeah just happy to take the three points to me personally
00:40:01as well to score two goals amazing feeling they told me it was the fastest goal this season in the
00:40:05premier league i didn't know but yeah i think it put us into a good position to start the game
00:40:10we were beaten by a far better team much more experienced looking team certainly much more
00:40:14powerful team than we were got onto our back line too quickly counter-attacked as you know and you can
00:40:20see the experience they're getting from playing the european games as well you know whether keeping
00:40:24teams at bay a little bit and then the speed they've got in the front line is very good
00:40:29and uh i thought they'd done that to us tonight well newcastle united have only scored three goals
00:40:35away all season they score four today and get that elusive away win they've been looking for
00:40:42since april and you could see on eddie howe's face the huge smile what it what it meant to him and
00:40:47the team how did they do it danny well they did it with a really good start and a good team
00:40:51performance but i think the main reason was a wonderful performance from two young exciting and
00:40:57thankfully english fullbacks who they haven't had on the pitch enough they've only started together
00:41:02three times but they gave them a different element going forward so much more creativity
00:41:07and penetration look at livermento early in the game he's in between the lines he's bursting past
00:41:12people he's onto the everton bat line it's unlucky with the past but that that was setting out his
00:41:17stall look at the position he's in iraq boonham's occupied by his midfielder grealish has lost him
00:41:22because he's expecting his fullback not to be in there great little space
00:41:26on the half turn not what you expect from most fullbacks i mean he's just so dynamic and so
00:41:32adventurous plays so free gets his team a corner um and they caused a lot of problems down this right
00:41:38hand side this is the second goal i just want you to watch him as the better the play's building up
00:41:43when he's when he's here he doesn't stop keeps getting involved look at that little flick
00:41:50doesn't stop again he ends up centrally okay it's a wild shot but look at the positions he's taken up
00:41:55he's he's overloading in forward areas which everton are struggling with on the other side we haven't
00:42:00seen enough of lewis hall he's a terrific player loves to get forward gets in these areas so often
00:42:06causes problems again for everton you've got grealish and india who are super players playing well who've
00:42:11spent most of the time defending because of these two again look at the pair of them this time this
00:42:17is probably my favorite clip i mean talk about away from home being adventurous when you haven't won
00:42:21deciding to go for it look when he picks it up here livermento there's his fullback the other fullback
00:42:29two highest players up the pitch trying to play his other fullback in to get in on goal gets his shots
00:42:34away just goes over it's absolutely incredible and the quality he's got with his crossing we've seen before
00:42:40hence the fact he's played for england already and for newcastle moving forward having these two fit
00:42:46and available to play gives them so much more going forward it was a terrific performance all
00:42:51around but those two especially for everton frustration because they couldn't build on that
00:42:55win at old trafford on monday night it felt like euphoria on monday night an incredible result
00:43:00great team effort they probably would have expected it's done a lot better this afternoon but as danny said
00:43:05there newcastle were out the blocks shocked them i don't think i don't think the team were ready especially
00:43:09after watching them probably in midweek against marseille and can we just give a mention to kian
00:43:13and jewsbury hall and tyler adams from earlier on because if he's going to score a worldie you've
00:43:16got to do it on the winning side unbelievable richarlison as well from last last week yeah so you're not
00:43:21going to get a good week in terms of goals yeah after monday night as well okay uh there are five games
00:43:27on sunday's match of the day including chelsea at home to the leaders arsenal
00:43:30arsenal
00:43:36to make absolutely sure
00:43:38morgan rogers making it look easy moves rooted to the pit of the table
00:43:44three and l for us
00:43:49a precious moment for west air gravenberg
00:43:52two down but then just to seal the win for chelsea right now arsenal look unstoppable
00:44:03five premier league games uh sorry five lives premier league sunday is across all the premier
00:44:08league games of which there are five from midday are they going to social is kelly summers guest for

00:44:42next up tottenham with the second worst home record in the league against fulham with the joint
00:44:47worst away record someone brotherton is your commentator
00:44:52spurs make four changes from last week's derby defeat at arsenal randall polo moani scored twice
00:44:57at his parent club psg in the champions league in midweek and keeps his place as do pedro poro
00:45:03archie gray and lucas bergval christian romero is suspended marco silva takes charge of fulham for the
00:45:10200th time tonight and makes one change samuel chukwesi on loan from milan came off the bench to set up
00:45:17the winner against sunderland last week and gets his first start in the premier league this evening
00:45:22in preference to kevin spurs last win at home in the premier league was on the opening day of the
00:45:28season which was the last time that fulham got anything on the road they secured a point in that
00:45:35opening match they've been empty-handed ever since away from the cottage swept forward off the boot of
00:45:41wilson here's alex iwobi
00:45:46and now josh king
00:45:50chukwesi jimenez is in the middle wilson's up there too
00:45:54kenny tete with a shot which takes a deflection and full of a head in three and a half minutes
00:46:05well kenny tete hasn't scored for two years almost to the day but via a deflection it's his shot that
00:46:14has full of a head bergval was wrong-footed by the pass tete blasted it towards the goal
00:46:25chukwesi lays it off and here you can see it takes a deflection which carries it past the goalkeeper
00:46:32it's tottenham hotspur nil full and one it deflects off udogi past vicario
00:46:42what a start for marco silva's team two wins in the last seven in the league for them much needed
00:46:49three points last week against sunderland and a great start here and now jimenez and vicario fully
00:46:54committed
00:46:54has given the ball away and now he's a mile out of his goal as harry wilson makes it two
00:47:04oh what an error by vicario what was he thinking on a play for harry wilson the finish was superb
00:47:13and inside six minutes stunned spurs of two down at home
00:47:18the crowd have barely taken their seats and amazingly full of a two nil up
00:47:28in this london derby vicario here decides to hang on to it that's a fantastic finish from wilson
00:47:40king lays it off wilson first time fulham two up two minutes and 16 seconds between the two goals
00:47:49tottenham are rattled it fell kindly there for ewobi looking to make the most of it here's samuel
00:47:55chukwesi and still with chukwesi it's a corner he looks like a very good uh loan signing for the
00:48:03season for fulham samuel chukwesi taking a little while to get fully up to speed they brought him off
00:48:08the bench a few times including last weekend getting a first start today
00:48:11to be really jangling for tottenham every time fulham go anywhere near them chukwesi oh and it was so
00:48:20close to three wow
00:48:22wow samuel chukwesi rattles vicario's post fulham so close to a three nil lead in ten minutes
00:48:34what a night under the lights this could be turning into
00:48:42lenez with the little flick poro under pressure here's chukwesi he's around the keeper what a
00:48:47challenge that is by van de ben sensational great play by the dutch defender
00:48:57well chukwesi looked as if he was in there but mickey van de ven to the rescue for tottenham hot spur
00:49:05well thomas frank needs his team to find a goal or two there's a man who
00:49:11knows where the goal is teddy sheringham former tottenham striker
00:49:21here comes kevin danceo it opened up before him into
00:49:26colomawani gray finds poro fulham on the back foot and the header just wide from colomawani
00:49:35best we've seen from tottenham randall colomawani getting up superbly ahead of calvin bassey
00:49:44fulham very much on the back foot at the moment in this little spell of the game
00:49:50kudus again seeing plenty of the ball drilled in by poro sent away by wilson not convincingly bergbaugh
00:49:58here's kudus go to goal and time of the back of the match it's a thunderous finish from mohammed kudus
00:50:07and with just over half an hour to go it's a different game now
00:50:11well what a time for mohammed kudus to score his second goal of the season look at the space he had
00:50:17here and he made it count terrific finish
00:50:19beyond burned lane oak bird fouls delivery one to control it and the other to lash it into the back
00:50:28of fulham's net interesting that fulham should score two goals in the first six minutes
00:50:34today because they'd only scored four goals in the first half of games all season before coming here
00:50:42more defending for fulham to do though poro marauding down the near side there was an opportunity for simon's
00:50:50challenged importantly at the final moment by anderson tottenham will have another corner as a result
00:51:00put us with the corner it's off the line it was jimenez for fulham
00:51:09all hands on deck for the visiting side here now
00:51:11raul jimenez was in the right place at the right time here to head the ball off the line
00:51:19fulham winners of just one of their last 15 visits to tottenham in the premier league still ahead in
00:51:30this one and this is a rare second half attack as chakwesi
00:51:37handled by raul jimenez who is booked for it by the referee
00:51:45he tried to bat that one towards the goal with his hands
00:51:48it's a yellow card for the fulham striker petro poro looking for the run made by sar
00:51:57bassy across anderson away
00:52:08danso launches this throw
00:52:10and the shot as
00:52:13down to kolomowani with the backflick there
00:52:17not far wide of the post kolomowani brilliant improvisation and unlucky to see it go just wide
00:52:24down so with the clearance now but again he can't find a teammate sander burger there's the final
00:52:33whistle booze rain down from the home crowd thomas frank's team lose at home for the fourth time in
00:52:42the league this season fulham's first away win of the season their first win at tottenham in 12 years
00:52:49of course every game plan you have you can throw it out in the bin um after six minutes the first one
00:52:56was a deflected go a deflected shot uh goal and the other one of course a mistake uh from big uh no
00:53:02problem and um i heard some of our fans apparently booed uh the incident and booed after which in my
00:53:08opinion is completely unacceptable can't be true uh children fans that do that well deserved three points
00:53:14big win but very well deserved what a first half from us and to nil should be should have been more
00:53:20um of the possible one of the one with the goalkeeper shook on some some some great moments from us
00:53:26what a goal from from mary what a confusion from age and you and clear that the goalkeeper
00:53:31was not on the on the goal and the first touch on the ball after the pass from josh what a finish
00:53:36top last goal from mary so thomas frank saying it's unacceptable for the spurs fans to boo vicario
00:53:43obviously there was an edge around tonight wasn't the confidence seemed very low and he was
00:53:46undoubtedly at fault for what turned out to be the winning goal do you understand the fans frustration
00:53:52there i do understand the fans frustration it's obviously difficult i know the role that vicario
00:53:57is playing um he's a great team player he's a real leader in the dressing room but ultimately you're
00:54:02going to be judged by your actions and he was heavily involved in what turned out to be the match
00:54:06winning goal good position really they're already one nil down early on so the edge is already in the
00:54:11stadium now people will be asking for him to clear it here i understand and now he's got himself this
00:54:17is when you realize i'm in big trouble do you know what i'll just knock it out i'll get my defenders back
00:54:21and i'll get back in goal but he still wants to try and keep the ball in play that's the modern way
00:54:26that's the modern day goalkeeper screws one up the line but this is brilliant from fulham king and
00:54:32wilson immediately realizing tottenham are in massive trouble now king knows what a technician harry harry
00:54:38wilson is so he lays it on a plate look at harry wilson when he receives this back to goal but
00:54:43he trusts his left foot he knows he's just got to set that out at the penalty spot and let the curve
00:54:48on the ball do the rest that is an absolute piece of art but from a topman point of view completely
00:54:54avoidable great vision from him yeah absolutely and thomas frank now is is obviously going to feel
00:55:01some kind of pressure with the fans not happy letting their disquiet be known that is now them
00:55:07only having won once at home at the beginning of the season three times this calendar year as well
00:55:13well he's got to take the stick he's taken a high profile job at a huge football club with massive
00:55:18expectation so there's pressure and responsibility that comes with that and the performances at home
00:55:23have been poor and they've got to improve quickly he's got a hell of a good squad yet he's got a few
00:55:27players missing but i don't think at the moment he knows his best team or he's not sure on his best
00:55:33formation and that's a problem and the confidence is really low so they've got to keep working hard
00:55:38i mean they had a good go second half and made some chances but um yeah for now he's got to ride
00:55:43the criticism he's got to keep working on the training pitch and get that team winning some games
00:55:47at home and on the flip side for marco silva and fulham they'd only had one point uh on the road this
00:55:52season five straight defeats in a row uh you know they they scored so early in that game as well
00:55:57didn't they really took control of the game scoring the first half isn't something that they've they've
00:56:02generally been doing so you know that that would be a real confidence boost to that he'll be really
00:56:06pleased because before last week's well the last game against sondland when they won that there was
00:56:11a little bit of criticism coming his way the team was struggling a bit a lot of talk about his contract
00:56:16two great performances six points everything settles down i actually think fulham have played better this
00:56:21season and their points tally reflects um i think a lot of the fulham fans now would like to see the
00:56:27contract issue concluded and him signed because he's done a wonderful job okay next up brentford with
00:56:33four wins from six at home so far this season against a burnley side in the bottom three and on a run of
00:56:39three straight defeats conor mcnamara watch this one keith andrews makes two changes from brentford's
00:56:48defeat away at brighton last weekend aaron hickey replaces christopher iron in defense while matthias
00:56:54jensen starts in midfield ahead of yarmuluk scott parker makes two changes for the burley team that
00:57:00started against chelsea last time in midfield hannibal mebrey makes his first premier league
00:57:05start since august in place of ugu chukwu while lyle foster joins the attack preferred to jayden anthony
00:57:12since their own promotion to the top flight brentford have had a very strong record against newly
00:57:20promoted sides here at this stadium they've won the last 10 in a row scoring at least twice in each game
00:57:30he's very comfortable dropping his shoulder and advancing nathan collins plays it up to the
00:57:35defender for a brentford corner
00:57:43decent quip on that collins is close very close for brentford the brentford captain looking for his
00:57:50first premier league goal of the campaign close against his former club three defeats in a row before
00:57:58today but scott parker says he's still pleased with his team's performances he doesn't believe they're
00:58:04far off where they need to be
00:58:08this is high risk stuff and jensen's been caught in possession and down goes hannibal mebrey
00:58:12and burnley is screaming for a corner but it's going to be a yellow card for the attacking player
00:58:19simulation from hannibal mebrey he sees yellow for a dive video assistant referee today is neil davis
00:58:28they say that is a clear act of simulation no contact from the defender it's a yellow card for diving for
00:58:36hannibal mebrey
00:58:38cullen
00:58:38pass from hannibal mebrey and then fiorentino's attempt to fleming was just fractually behind to the
00:58:47intended target
00:58:49dango wittara is able to wriggle free of fiorentino here this is michael damscott can he get the angle
00:58:55oh he did just couldn't keep the shot down
00:58:59look at the space he's got here and was able to cut back infield of cullen
00:59:10burnley very fortunate that that wasn't in the back of the net
00:59:15hannibal
00:59:17walker
00:59:19chance to look up for hannibal mebrey
00:59:21touch from chowder
00:59:27kept in by hartman
00:59:30nice interchange between hartman and chowder and then a shot on target from zion fleming
00:59:36is by far the best that barely have offered today
00:59:41that's the most stressful moment that creeping keller has had today
00:59:44coming into this weekend only arsenal and manchester city have won more premier league home games this
00:59:52season and only those two teams have scored more home goals this campaign than keith andrew's side
00:59:58jango watara trying to cut it back for shot again it's walker's clearance this is the ensign
01:00:04gets it back from hickey damscott
01:00:09fairly defensive with a lot of pressure at the moment walker looks to relieve some of that
01:00:15attempted clearance block down by jensen damscott looking for ego chiago cut out by esteve
01:00:22this is coyote and that's very close coyote scooping it in for jango watara and the two of them
01:00:30nearly combining at the moment burnley are hanging on a little bit now this season the gtech has become
01:00:40one of the premier league's toughest tests the only visiting team to win here have been
01:00:44manchester city home support that's getting well used to celebrating home victories here hoping
01:00:49that a late winning goal is going to arrive today it's a good touch jensen to damscott
01:00:54ego chiago took off too early jango watara was timed his run well ball then a big collision and it's going to be a penalty
01:01:02penalty to brentford and a glorious chance of a breakthrough
01:01:06two yellow card for axel two and cb it's all been looked at by the video system referee does two and
01:01:14cb get a touch of the ball before any collision outcome of this decision could well decide the game
01:01:22penalty is going to stand
01:01:24in the last 10 minutes of normal time ego chiago who's been the heartbeat of brentford's attack this
01:01:35season and he puts the keeper the wrong way after just 13 league games this season
01:01:43it's the quickest any brentford player has taken to reach 10 goals in a premier league campaign
01:01:50great
01:02:02oh hesitation
01:02:04the referee points to the spot burnley get a penalty now
01:02:08it's only two minutes since eco chiago scored the spot kick down the other end and now brentford have
01:02:16given a penalty away Zion Fleming can he level things up with just over five minutes of normal
01:02:24time to play here up against Queevy Kelleher who's got a good record from spot kicks but can't do
01:02:30anything about that Burnley get it back to 1-1 and it's now four goals in these last five Premier
01:02:38League games for Zion Fleming steps header
01:02:51from Yarmuluk here's Coyote who gave away the penalty a moment ago Henderson that's a really
01:02:55good ball in and Kyle Walker he tried to clear and couldn't and that man again Igor Tiago
01:03:03we went 81 minutes in this game without a goal and now there's been three goals in five minutes
01:03:17ruthless finish from the Brazilian Igor Tiago he's now up to 11 in the Premier League this season
01:03:25and that is nine goals now in these last eight games for him
01:03:30Rico Henry Damsgaard who's had some glorious touches today here comes Jordan Henderson this
01:03:39can finish it now Watara it's gonna be Brentford's day again the solidity of their home form continues
01:03:51it's a third Premier League goal of the season for Django Watara and didn't he take it well
01:03:58Tupkin around a step Brentford three Burnley one I thought it was a big win for us we've been
01:04:10yeah pretty good at home so far this season so we wanted to keep that momentum first half I thought
01:04:16the game was a little bit scrappy and not many chances it was a bit of a fight but second half
01:04:23like you see I think we grew into the game we're a bit more patient and forced the chances that we
01:04:29got a bit more and played in their half and thankfully we got our rewards with the goals
01:04:34there's elements to our game at this present time what we need to we need to learn from we
01:04:38need to fix for sure at the start of this season I probably knew what this journey would look like
01:04:42and there's um there's a journey ahead of us where there's going to be some bumps in that journey we
01:04:46need to learn and be brutally honest in our assessment of things and we've got a massive
01:04:50game now on Wednesday and we'll we'll come again Igor Thiago continues to to bang in the goals 11 now in
01:04:5613. he's been magnificent yeah I thought he was quiet in the first half um put on him a little bit of
01:05:01half time wanted him to influence the game a little bit more some of that was down to us not giving him
01:05:06enough service opposition obviously denying that space and an opportunity but equally I felt he could
01:05:10impose himself a little bit more on the game he said he did on the second half yeah it was a game you didn't
01:05:15want to leave early all the goals coming after 81 minutes four goals in 12 minutes as well but
01:05:21it's the the front four if you like of Brentford the four attacking players that you were really
01:05:25impressed by especially when you consider the players the names that they've lost over the last
01:05:28year and a half or so yeah especially with the names that they've lost but with that front three of
01:05:32wattara thiago and sharder but damsgard fourth season now just linking the play up beautifully
01:05:40they look a real threat going forward it's just lurking in that kind of phil foden role looking
01:05:46threatening all the time they look to play to him they allow him to drift into different positions
01:05:51the one thing he must love is when he looks up there's his front three there's three threats
01:05:56all the time with a player like him with the quality he'll actually be very disappointed with that but
01:06:01Brentford are relentless they don't just go for one attack if they can turn it over if
01:06:05um burnley dither like they do they're going to keep coming and keep coming and the threat's always
01:06:10in the middle really good header be disappointed that he's missed there damsgard on that left-hand
01:06:15side just looking to receive on the half turn thiago stretching as much as he can really good
01:06:22sharder just takes control here and he just kept knocking on the door kept asking questions and he felt
01:06:28like it was coming turnover dams card always on that half turn really good thiago running always
01:06:36just threats coming from all angles and they've earned that penalty there and what i loved about
01:06:41seeing this penalty is he had a big moment last week saved stepped up cool as a cucumber massive
01:06:46moment for his team obviously got pegged back pretty quickly but this team know what they're doing now
01:06:52we've got that trademark jordan henderson around the back as i was talking about before not just one
01:06:57chance relentless keeping on going and we know in the premier league a one goal lead isn't enough
01:07:03sharder turning it around the corner here and this is lovely ball into watara this is a really
01:07:08composed finish he really pleased with his work excellent job today from brentford excellent
01:07:14so thiago danny uh the fastest brentford player in the premier league to double figures and he and he
01:07:21sits with an illustrious list of brentford players and the names around him
01:07:24he's he's looking to get into the brazil squad that's his goal he's got no caps so far the world
01:07:30cups the aim has he got a chance he has got a chance because he's unique and he's a bit of an
01:07:34all-rounder he's old school physical but he's got good touch he can run in behind he scores different
01:07:39types of goals he can link up well i think he's got a chance because nobody's really nailed down that
01:07:44number nine for brazil yeah and he's had a terrific start to the season brilliant all credit to him top
01:07:49brazilian goal scorer in europe at the moment as well so he should be in the squad yeah okay danny
01:07:54murphy says so uh before we go let's take a look at the premier league table and manchester city's
01:07:59dramatic late win over leeds cuts the gap on arsenal to four points ahead of the gunners trip to chelsea
01:08:06on sunday sunderland's dream start to life back in the top flight goes on as they rise back up to four
01:08:10defeats for leeds and burnley keep them rooted in the bottom three but fulham open up a six-point gap
01:08:15above the relegation places following their victory at tottenham uh thank you so much to danny and to
01:08:22joe so foden saved city from a fright to make sure arsenal aren't out of sight even though leeds put
01:08:28up a fight and sunderland won again at the stadium of delight good night
