00:00What do you hope this group accomplishes by the end of this summit tomorrow?
00:05There are so many questions about the direction that quote unquote Hollywood is going right
00:11now.
00:12We're going to hopefully get some answers about that.
00:14I mean, there have been in my career, I've suffered through five strikes of different
00:18kinds and different branches of the business.
00:21And every strike has had a tremendously negative effect in the long run on the business.
00:27And we're just coming out of these last strikes and, you know, it may be that we will discover
00:33some new direction tomorrow that we're going to go.
00:35I'm going to be hosting one talk with a bunch of showrunners about, you know, the direction
00:39they think the shows are going to be going, the TV shows are going to be going over the
00:46next decade or so.
00:47It's a big question.
00:49It's a, we're in a kind of fog right now in Hollywood.
00:54We don't know where we're going.
00:55And for you personally, why was it important for you to be here for the summit?
00:59Well, I've been involved with the creative coalition since its inception many, many years
01:04ago and have traveled with them over the world, around the world.
01:08And I, whenever I'm called upon by them, I show up.
01:12It's an extraordinary group and the, our charter is to support the arts in whichever way we can.
01:19Right now we're facing potential headwinds art-wise with the new administration.
01:25We're going to see where that goes as well, but it's quite possible that those headwinds
01:29will disappear and we'll have a nice ride over the next four years.
01:32You never know.
01:33What's your take on the way the arts have been in the headlines with the new administration
01:36and everything that's been happening with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts?
01:39Well, we'll see how that goes.
01:42I'm, I am somewhat surprised, if not shocked by that turn of events.
01:48Uh, actually, I'm not surprised, even though I was shocked when I heard about it.
01:52But, uh, you know, I, I don't know, we're going to have to wait and see what happens with
01:58that one, won't we?
02:00Well, thank you so much.
