00:00Well congratulations on this. You had some history with this franchise, so how is it to finally make this happen?
00:07I could not have been more excited. I got the word of the invite last Christmas.
00:16I was out here visiting family. God, was that the time? Yeah, it would have been...
00:22I wonder if I was out here for my grandson's birth. I think I was.
00:26But I got like, hey, are you interested in this? And I opened up the emails.
00:33Yes. Absolutely. Yes. So I'm very excited.
00:38And this role is being kept quite hush-hush. How has it been to...
00:41Everything is quite hush-hush, you know? The script was hush-hush. Like, I didn't get it.
00:51Really? Did you just get like your parts?
00:53It's... I guess it's more and more common these days.
00:59But like, there's like a... The use of technology and the infrastructure...
01:06Like, you have a link to get to the information.
01:09And like, every time you log in, they know you're logging in.
01:13And it only lives there.
01:15You can't pull it and print it.
01:17But... And I'm such a tactile old man, you know?
01:20Like, I want my paper and my brads.
01:24But yeah, I mean, of course it's hush-hush. It's freaking screen.
01:27True.
01:28How did you feel about Nev coming back?
01:30Dude, Nev is so cool.
01:32Does that mean that your character...
01:34One of the things, when you're coming into such an established environment like this...
01:40Like, this, a TV show, something like that, and you're just popping in a little bit.
01:44And you're doing your bit and you're going home.
01:46You can feel like a new kid at school.
01:50And she blows that right away.
01:52Like, when you're there, you're part of the family.
01:56And I've seen a couple of the other, like, legacy cast members since then.
02:02And they're like, oh, dude, you're so great.
02:04Welcome to the family.
02:06Like, you're in now.
02:06And it's just this warm, kind, inviting environment.
02:10Which is really funny when it's such disgustingly violent subject matter.
02:16But it's also really enjoyable to see such nice people when this kind of success happens to such kind, welcoming
02:25people.
02:25It's a nice thing to be a part of.
02:29And as a long-time fan, I mean, did you get to put this actual ghost face mask on at
02:34any point?
02:34Well, there was a photo shoot, but we all did.
02:37You know?
02:39Yeah, and it was like the photo shoot mask.
02:42Uh-oh.
02:45And, like, you know, I was probably last.
02:49It's something.
02:50Yeah, it smelled like prime rib by then, you know?
02:55So this franchise turns 30 this year.
02:57Why do you think that this has kind of had, you know, such an enduring legacy?
03:02I think because it's new.
03:04I think because of the people involved in its conception.
03:08You know, you got Kevin, you got Wes, like, a incredible storyteller, a master of horror, combining together to make
03:18this.
03:19And it's, I've been thinking, like, what is it about this that I, as an audience member, find so appealing?
03:26And I think it's the self-awareness.
03:29I think the fact that it knows it's a horror movie.
03:32And uses the, like, it admits to the tropes.
03:36And not in a way, like, a spoof.
03:38Like, it takes it very seriously.
03:40Like, there's rules to what we're doing here.
03:42And we have to follow these rules.
03:45So as an audience member, that's really fun to watch and then see if they break them and when they
03:50break them.
03:51And then this one, like, how they've incorporated the new rules, like, the new media infrastructure.
04:01Like, how things are today in the entertainment industry.
04:05It's really smart.
04:06It's really good.
04:07All right.
