'Captain America: Brave New World' star Carl Lumbly chats with THR on the carpet and talks about his excitement for everyone to finally see the film. Plus, he dishes on what it's like working with Harrison Ford and shares what he hopes fans will take away from the movie.

00:01How are we feeling? Hollywood Boulevard is shut down.

00:04This is wild. This is wild.

00:06And it's been a long time coming.

00:08I am thrilled to be here now.

00:10And I'm thrilled that everybody else gets to know what I already know.

00:14That this is a project that we've all needed.

00:19I was going to say, I have a lot of questions for you,

00:21and probably only a few of them that you can actually answer.

00:24Because last we saw you, Sam Wilson was honoring Isaiah in that museum.

00:29We see him finally getting recognized.

00:31He has such a tragic backstory.

00:33Then we see the trailer, and I'm like, something happened while we've been gone.

00:38So where do we find Isaiah when we pick it up in this movie?

00:41Well, you know, Sam had to convince Isaiah to come back into the world.

00:45And receiving that statue was a tremendous honor.

00:48But it didn't change the fact that Isaiah is still imprisoned inside himself.

00:54And Sam's doing the best he can with him.

00:57But it's, you know, it's a learning curve being in a brand new, brave new world.

01:03Yes.

01:03And there's a lot of changes.

01:05We have Harrison Ford this time around, and he's going to Hulk out as Red Hulk.

01:08As someone who has seen him in the transformation,

01:12how do you describe working with Harrison and seeing him in full Hulk out?

01:17I can only say this about Harrison.

01:19He is consummate in every way.

01:21He's a consummate performer, and he's an impeccable gentleman.

01:26And he works harder.

01:28And he's actually older than I am.

01:31He works harder than anyone I know.

01:33He's an inspiration.

01:37What do you hope people take away from Brave New World?

01:39It does feel like we're kind of entering a new era of the MCU going forward.

01:42But I think, I hope people take away the fact that there's bravery in all of us

01:47and that that's a cause for hope.

01:49No matter what it may look like, we can reach inside ourselves

01:54and offer what we have to other people.

01:57And together, we're all brave.

02:00I liked watching the Super Bowl and seeing Nick Fury himself show up as a surprise.

02:04Did you check that out?

02:05Did you see the halftime show?

02:06No, I did not.

02:07I did not.

02:08But I'm going to because I have it taped.

02:10Because now everyone's talking about it.

02:11Right, exactly.

02:12Also, it is Valentine's Day around the corner.

02:15Are you a romantic guy?

02:16What are your plans?

02:17And do you have a favorite rom-com?

02:19I consider myself a lover.

02:22I am fairly romantic.

02:23I don't know that I have a favorite rom-com.

02:31And it's not a rom-com, but I think Brave New World is a wonderful offering of love.

02:38Yeah, I mean, we have the red theme, so.

02:40That's right.

02:42That's right.

02:43Well, I would just urge everyone to go out on Valentine's Day and decide for themselves.
