Paul Simms Teases A Love Interest For Guillermo & Working With Mark Hamill in 'What We Do In The Shadows'

Paul Simms spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet of the THR and FX 'What We Do In The Shadows' Vampire Nightclub at San Diego Comic-Con.

00:00Here we are at the Vampire Nightclub tonight,

00:02just like the one that the vampires start in season four.

00:05What can we expect here tonight at this party?

00:07I hope it works better than the Vampire Nightclub

00:10in the show, which never seems to,

00:12especially the blood sprinklers,

00:13never seem to work correctly.

00:15But no, this is very exciting, very professional looking.

00:19It's so exciting to be here at Comic-Con

00:20and see on the street people dressed up

00:23like these characters on the show,

00:25because when we're making the show, we forget that,

00:28I mean, we know people watch it,

00:29but we forget sometimes.

00:30And then to see fans that are that hardcore

00:32is really exciting.

00:34Did you see some vampires here today on the street?

00:36Yes, I saw some Dandors and I saw some Guillermos,

00:39which I thought was very cute.

00:40I love Guillermo on the show.

00:42I feel like he's really the heart of the show.

00:44And we've also seen that he's the glue

00:45that holds the vampires together.

00:47But this season, will he finally put himself first?

00:52He's trying to.

00:53It's hard, you know.

00:54It's hard because,

00:56it's hard not just because he wants to be a vampire,

00:59but he, this is his family.

01:02But speaking of his family, as a little treat,

01:05this season will meet his real family,

01:07his whole family in a really good episode.

01:11That's an amazing tease.

01:12I love that.

01:12And it also seems like he may have a love interest

01:15he's been talking to on the phone.

01:18Can you tease anything about that?

01:19Yes, anything that you suspect is going to happen,

01:23we're not going to pull the carpet out from under you.

01:25Yes, obviously, even though he won't admit it to anyone,

01:29Guillermo obviously has a special someone now.

01:31That's amazing.

01:32I can't wait to learn more about that.

01:34What are you most excited for fans to see this season

01:37when they watch the show?

01:37I think one of the episodes is the one that we're showing here

01:42tomorrow at Comic-Con, which no one but us has seen yet,

01:45which is our biggest Comic-Con-iest episode ever.

01:49Like, just massive in scope.

01:52You meet a lot of other Supernatural characters,

01:57and it's our most, I think our most expensive episode yet,

02:02but it's really the perfect one for Comic-Con,

02:05because it is big and has a lot of exciting stunts,

02:09and I think people are going to be very excited.

02:12I'm excited to see it, because I feel like we've already met

02:14so many Supernatural characters.

02:15Like, there's always witches, trolls, something new coming.

02:18You haven't met them all yet, I guarantee you.

02:21And for you, who would be your dream guest star on the show?

02:24There have been so many amazing ones,

02:26but who would you want to get?

02:27My dream guest star was Wesley Snipes,

02:30and we got him season one,

02:31so everything else since then has been

02:33just an embarrassment of riches.

02:36I mean, I couldn't believe that you guys got

02:38Mark Hamill on the show.

02:39I was like, wow, what a get.

02:40Is there anybody who's a Comic-Con type person,

02:42though, that you'd love to see on the show?

02:46I don't want to say, because then what if they

02:47don't want to do it?

02:48Although Mark Hamill was so sweet,

02:50because he was just a fan of the show,

02:51and we saw him tweeting about it,

02:53and we were like, well, if you really like the show,

02:55prove it, and come on.

02:56And he said, well, okay.

02:57That was very exciting for us.
